The extended tests are even more crazy. Also, a lot of the stuff in your vision is made up of memory. Relying on peripheral vision while driving is incredibly dangerous, since your brain can do the same thing as in the tests, only it's a lot more dangerous when your eyes 'remember' an absence of speeding truck...
