"These were posted on Instagram in 2013 by someone who worked on the sequel and quickly deleted. I'm not sure by who"
Mirror's Edge 2 was cancelled in 2011 due to its prototype being "disappointing" to EA.

Mirror's Edge was and still is one of my favorite games ever. Catalyst was good too, but i love the original. So simple to pick up but hard to master. Wish this series was more popular so it could see another sequel but i highly doubt it

Catalyst was terrible
But first Mirrors Edge is always incredible and has not aged at all. In fact, it looks better now in 4k than ever before

I feel like one of the few people who actually enjoyed Catalyst more. It just being longer made me have a lot more fun, the first was far too short.

Well the design seems a lot like Catalyst so I am not even mad.
Catalyst looked incredible though, amazing art style.

Catalyst was terrible

I really disagree. Sure it did some annoying things, like the skill tree and some side content, but honestly, I can't see how someone who loved the first one could hate Catalyst, the gameplay is as good, as well as the story missions. It's only the side content that can drag a bit too much, though I personally really enjoyed having more freedom and spending more time in it than in the first one. I just wish leaderboards weren't full of cheats, if they were clean, I would have spend even more time on the game doing all the created races and such...

I really wish they had ported Mirror's Edge to ps4. I loved Catalyst but didn't get into ME when it first came out because the demo made me feel a bit dizzy.

It's the back tracking and repetitive levels

I often see a few people on here lamenting that EA didn't treat Dead Space right but in my eyes it was Mirror's Edge that got the shaft.

DS and ME both launched in 2008 with the former having a trilogy before another entry in the latter.

Not saying I want ME to have sequels churned out like a factory product but damn if I didn't have to wait forever with no news while watching DS race by only to crash.

Oh cool! Never heard of this sequel before

The first Mirrors Edge is Top 10 best games of all time to me

Seeing it back in 2008 was mindblowing, and still is. The art is so strong that it became ageless.

Trying to beat the time trials was such an adrenaline rush. Replaying the game is such a blast, everytime.

ME was a miracle. everything gelled together and just clicked. it was simply extraordinary. I love that game so much it hurts. I was in a bad place (mentally) when it came out and it was a true therapeutical help to me. I wish its devs long and happy lives. Thank you.

P.S. I wish EA was not such a c*nt

I recently replayed original Mirror's Edge, it still had something different in it and it's unique artstyle didn't aged too much. Shame that they never managed to release a proper sequel and went for Catalyst instead. The leaked footage looks good, but it didn't really gave away too much.

Catalyst is absolutely incredible and far superior to the first game. Once I got into it I never looked back. The feeling of freedom and the clean movement is just amazing. I love to run from the docks all the way to the underground hideout on occasion. It is so liberating.

Man, I know a lot of folks had issues with it, and perhaps they didn't perfectly nail it, but it was such an awesome start to such a unique type of gameplay. I loved it. I hope it's not the end. Hope we eventually see it continue somehow. :messenger_crying:

In terms of gameplay, Catalyst was a little different from ME but it has the same appeal. That's why some prefer the old fomula, others the new one.
In terms of story, Catalyst the shift from 1984 to a young adult drama was pretty bad.

Yeah, nothings like it , it's one of the few IPs that I still look positively to this day.

The whole aestethic of both Mirror's Edge and Catalyst talks to me in a way no other game does. The cleanliness, the shapes, the colors (yeah it's mainly white but it's accentuated enough with bold colors to not be boring) I love both games equally, warts and all.

Hey EA, you gave us Star Wars Squadrons VR, can you give us Mirror's Edge VR also? And before someone says "vomit comet", some of us can handle that and still be perfectly fine:
