Holy crap at that last shot - Cruise continues to be the best in the business at performing his own stunts. As much as I was underwhelmed by Ghost Protocol, I'm definitely looking forward to this.

I hope Cruise doesn't play Hunt as boring as in Ghotocol and has some fun with it like in 1 and Edge of Tomorrow.

that was fucking awesome.

Mission Impossible seems to have upped it a notch ever since Ghost Protocol

I also Love MI2

Kind of forgot about this. It's coming out in a very crowded summer. Still, I really liked Ghost Protocol so I'm optimistic about this.

Looks good enough. Ghost Protocol garnered so much good-will from me that I am really looking forward to the new one.

They should have never abandoned the M:i-2 formula.

I miss M:i-2.

What a movie.

Bla, pls. The original and Ghost Protocol were the stand-outs.

On an unrelated note: THIAGO on the bench.

Trailer makes it look like it's the Cruise & Pegg show (which isn't a bad idea, really), but looking at IMDB there's quite a few people to factor in still.

Paula Patton appears to not be one of them

Oh god. The original and Ghost Protocol are the worst.

3 is the best one. Based Phillip-Seymour Hoffman, action, hot lady.

2 Cheesy John Woo but fun.

1 Saw it recently. This movie doesn't hold up at all. Besides iconic last wire scene. The climax in the train tunnel is so dumb.

Ghost Protocol. Yeah, no.

Ghost Protocol. Yeah, no.

3 was utterly forgetable. And it featured that annoying trope of showing the hero in a bad situation only to jump back to days earlier. The last time that was cool was Alias - Phase One.

2 was a disappointment for any John Woo fan.

Ghost Protocol resurrected the franchise.

3 had the best villain of the series in Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Unfortunately it also had the worst third act of the series, which drags it down a bit.

2 had some good moments, and a great soundtrack. But the problem was that the entire thing felt like an American film ripping off a John Woo film and watering it down. Sadly, it was John Woo doing it to himself.

1 has some great stuff in it, particularly the heist in the computer room. It just bugs me that they made Phelps the bad guy in the end.

Ghost Protocol was the most fun. It had some great action sequences, and I liked that they embraced just how crazy all of the stuff is. It didn't take itself too seriously, and it was the first film in the series to actually feel like a team effort instead of the Ethan Hunt show.

Killer legs at 0:35?

That's Rebecca Ferguson, she played Elizabeth in the BBC/Starz White Queen. She seems like a good fit with Cruise in doing her own stunts.

I've really enjoyed the Mission: Impossible movies with the exception of 2. I love how different they all feel. Also Christopher Macquarrie directed Valkyrie which was a really good thriller, so I'm on board for this.

Great. Will see. I love a packed summer slate. Trying to keep expectations in check though. There's no way it'll match Ghost Protocol.
