Trump's campaign team, aka comedy writers, are probably scoring up a slew of new Romney jokes right now for a rebuttal.

TrumpTweet: "That loser Romney couldn't beat Obama! Now he's attacking me? NO CLASS!"

pretty apt

Pretty much

There's been a hell of a lot of vile shit spewed from everyone on the GOP stage, why single out Trump? This is their party now.

Yea, this is just the long term effects of the tea party shit

Wow, using Kennedy as an example, yet don't vote for a Democrat anymore.

Cruz has been tacking left by criticizing corporate welfare and both Cruz and Rubio have name-checked FDR and JFK in positive terms in speeches over the past couple days.

Strange times in the GOP.

Romney is the last person to bitch about tax returns. He promised to release them in January and released them like in September or October that year he ran

Mitt pushing for a brokered convention for the Republicans.

What would it mean for democracy in this country if party elites can effectively prevent the candidate their voters have chosen from being nominated?
Welcome to American politics. The modern Republican party think their voters don't know what they want or what is good for them so the party elite chooses for them. The Democrats are being fucked with a shit chairwoman trying to pull the same stunt.

lol

Double down or bail out

If he gives any damn about his self respect in regard to this children after what has happen recently he should bail the fuck out. They're going to look back on this and then he's going have to see the judgement in their eyes for the rest of his life.

Would be hilarious. If these "establishment" guys left the party and launched their own candidate, the only people to leave with them would be the politicians themselves and NRO writers. The voters would stay.

Well, we may see that... After Hillary goes to Jail it will be Trump vs the GOP Puppet

I am constantly surprised at how poor the GOP seems to be at understanding their own electorate. Sending out Mittens to attack Trump will only strengthen his support within their base. It will only give Trump another point to remind the voters that he is CLEARLY not part of the Washington elite...

they are really blowing their load trying to get rid of trump, soon everyone will just be numb to everything about trump it doesn't really phase people wanting to vote for him, this probably makes people want to vote for him even more seeing all this establishment guys shook.

this is like a rap battle

I'm more surprised people think the GOP even tries to understand them at all with all the stuff they are pulling.

I don't believe it's aimed at them. You're not changing there minds. These are the people that cheer around a black woman being assaulted. It's aimed at everyone else and likely an attempt to stop them from settling for Trump or holding their nose and voting for him.

If it's not aimed at them then it'll do nothing. No one's settling or holding their nose and voting for Trump in the fucking primaries. That's ridiculous. Everyone who wants Trump is voting for him and the people who aren't are voting for Cruz or Rubio at this point. Not peeling off Trump's actual support does nothing. Like, what's the point?

They need someone with some of Trump's qualities that Trump's fans actually like to denounce him. Someone tough, someone with a winning record, and someone who isn't afraid to "tell it like it is." They can't get the actual guy they just held their nose and voted for to do it. That's like crazy opposite of what they should be doing.

GAF: GOD, FUCK DONALD TRUMP

Romney: Fuck Donald Trump

GAF: Fuck you Romney you loser

Just because I agree with someone on something doesn't mean I have to like them

I despise Trump and would never vote for him ever but, like, I do agree that the Iraq war was a mistake.

I don't like Romney at all but I do agree that Trump is a con man and a shit heel.

You mean like the Democrats and their super delegates? /salt

Oh I count on it. But I do hope, that people of good conscious will listen and fracture votes for Trump should he gain the nomination.

Not all Republicans are racists/bigots and I genuinely would love to see real reform.
Sure not all republicans are racist but this Trump rhetoric is simply an extension of the GOP in recent history. And Trump's 35-40% hold on the party is a massive percentage and quite telling.

There have been more than enough in the GOP allowing dog whistling for decades and just not calling that crap out.

Now Trump is here to finally tell it like it is.

For those who may not be able to watch all of this, Romney goes through Trump's current talking points very approvingly.

It just proves how far away from the real issues the GOP stands. All Trump is going to do tonight is say "Well, Mitt certainly didn't mind my money. Which is exactly why I'm in this race. To prove that politics need a swift kick." His polls will rise. But it still won't reach the moderates. GOP has no one to reach out to that end. Romney is the best they have?

GOP is imploding right before our eyes. Let it keep happening. Brokered convention would be amazing to see.

Even for a speech aimed at the hearts of independents... dude is rolling right over every single talking point we've had hammered into our heads since January. You'd imagine most people would be settled by now on those talking points the way they settled on BENGHAZI!! or Clinton's emails from ages ago. The GOP seem incredibly reliant on parroting the absolute oldest talking points till they so dull and uninspiring that it hardly moves you.

The weird nod/digs at KKK aside, the irony is that most of Trump's awful talking points have stayed consistent as shit since he began. Uniformly awful, but still stable.
