painey said:still no announced 105 fights.. don't want Bisping v Wandi because Mike will get killed even by old man Wand. I hope we have Dan Hardy, Mike Bisping, the 2 TUF9 Winners and Al-Turk (with a decent ref) on the card but that might be pushing it Brit wise.

As long as we're dwelling on MMA curses this week, our friends at MMA Scraps have created this handy little graphic to show the devastation that the possibly fictional/possibly terrifyingly real "MMA Live" Curse can wreak on any MMA fighter bold enough to don a sportcoat and stare awkwardly into ESPN's internet TV cameras. Oh, and Frank Mir too, who apparently is keeping things real casual-like out in Vegas.
The point is, appearing on "MMA Live" could very well be a one-way ticket to Beatdownville. So we got to wondering, didn't Randy Couture just appear on "MMA Live" a few days ago to do a UFC 101 recap? And isn't he taking on Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 102 at the end of August? Seems like trouble a-brewin' to us. Then again, maybe that's all just superstitious nonsense. And pro athletes are never superstitious, right? Guys? Right?
We'll remember you as a hero, Randy.

....Phil Baroni has verbally agreed to a contract with the UFC, according to a source close to the fighter. The veteran welterweights potential signing will undoubtedly raise a few eyebrows as well as shed some light on the brewing feud between the UFC and rival promotion Strikeforce.
According to an MMAJunkie.com report, the UFC has also signed Dennis Hallman, another former Strikeforce fighter. A source close to the UFC intimated more signings might be on the horizon as fighters complete their Strikeforce contracts.
Strikeforce matchmaker Bob Cook confirmed to Sherdog.com that Baroni was released from his Strikeforce contract in the past few days and would be free to sign with another promotion.
Baroni (13-11) dropped a unanimous decision to Joe Riggs in St. Louis in June. He had won three bouts in a row before the loss.

Thales Leites was stunned on Saturday when he heard that judges had come to a split decision in his fight with Alessio Sakara at UFC 101 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. He was even more stunned when he came out on the short end of the verdict.
But the really shocking news came on Thursday, when he learned he was being dropped by the Ultimate Fighting Championship only four months after competing for the middleweight title.
It turns out, though, that Leites still has a job with the UFC.
UFC president Dana White wasn't aware of plans to drop both Leites and welterweight Tamdan McCrory and said he would reverse those decisions.
