Has it even been made clear what division Belfort is going to be fighting in after the Franklin fight?

Middleweight, I think. That's why he's fighting Franklin at a catchweight and not at 205.

At this point I'm not giving ANYONE a shot beating Anderson. Bt I do agree that Vitor is the most interesting fight at the moment.

still no announced 105 fights.. don't want Bisping v Wandi because Mike will get killed even by old man Wand. I hope we have Dan Hardy, Mike Bisping, the 2 TUF9 Winners and Al-Turk (with a decent ref) on the card but that might be pushing it Brit wise.

What the fuck? Nog is only 33? I thought he was like 10 years older. What the hell was he doing vs. Mir, did he just not train?

Tim Sylvia is fighting again. In some promotion run by his manager. I actually do respect that he was a tough guy for a lot of his career, but I think he should let it go. Someone should stage an intervention.

I've been watching some of the old TUF shows all together. I sort of watched them halfheartedly back in the day. The fighting was usually pretty bad, even though a lot of these guys became incredible professional fighters. It's weird seeing these mma records some of the guys sport, but they are just really bad at this early stage in their career. I've never been to an amateur mma fight, but it must just illustrate the step up to the pro leagues once again.

I'm watching TUF 2. Matt Hughes is pretty unlikeable in it. He has the same sort of attitude I've seen him show when he does commentary on his losses. On one hand, it's the attitude to be a total winner and seeing things only one way, on the other, it's sort of a one sided dickiness.

Also, the most egregious product placement ever.

Musashi:

Who knows how much was played up by the producers in both of his TUF seasons, but I saw enough with Matt Hughes's bullshit of using the fighters on his team as sacrificial chess pieces with his only goal being to "win" the numbers game against the opposing coach. He also demands respect after disrespecting everyone he meets, while coming up with ridiculous justifications like "he used a curse word!" or "he's showboating!" (like carrying someone to the other side of the cage each fight isn't showboating).

When Rich Franklin forfeits the challenge in season 2, Matt's face turning purple in embarrassment and rage, epic. Also hilarious how Hughes thinks Rashad is a loser and Rashad ends up becoming a LHW champion.

His bible meetings in season 6, wow.

I wouldn't mind it if he just went out there and kept losing. But disrespecting the sport by coming in to fight horribly out of shape, looking like a plumber, isn't something I can get behind. Did he train for the Mercer fight at Burger King?

Anyone know what is flying out of Kenny's shorts?

It's a piece of white string, and the puddle was there from before. It only looks like he's pissing himself in the gif.

i actualy do wanna see wand vs bisping..just because bisping had to run his mouth and said how he'd knock wand out 'like rampage did'

i feel bad for jay hieron.. first getting blasted by the affliction thing and now by
the dope of master diaz.

fighting jesse taylor could be an exiting fight but it seems that he is not really gaining much from it.
- he wins, great! but he still has to wait for diaz to get his belt
- he looses, buh! he has to fight at least 2/3 times to get his chance again.

i remember him talking about diaz not wanting to fight him over a year ago on TAGG radio..
and i really think he IS the biggest threat to nick.

(Try all you want, but you can't argue with a collage, people.)

As long as we're dwelling on MMA curses this week, our friends at MMA Scraps have created this handy little graphic to show the devastation that the possibly fictional/possibly terrifyingly real "MMA Live" Curse can wreak on any MMA fighter bold enough to don a sportcoat and stare awkwardly into ESPN's internet TV cameras. Oh, and Frank Mir too, who apparently is keeping things real casual-like out in Vegas.

The point is, appearing on "MMA Live" could very well be a one-way ticket to Beatdownville. So we got to wondering, didn't Randy Couture just appear on "MMA Live" a few days ago to do a UFC 101 recap? And isn't he taking on Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 102 at the end of August? Seems like trouble a-brewin' to us. Then again, maybe that's all just superstitious nonsense. And pro athletes are never superstitious, right? Guys? Right?

We'll remember you as a hero, Randy.

Phil Baroni has verbally agreed to a contract with the UFC, according to a source close to the fighter. The veteran welterweight’s potential signing will undoubtedly raise a few eyebrows as well as shed some light on the brewing feud between the UFC and rival promotion Strikeforce.

According to an MMAJunkie.com report, the UFC has also signed Dennis Hallman, another former Strikeforce fighter. A source close to the UFC intimated more signings might be on the horizon as fighters complete their Strikeforce contracts.

Strikeforce matchmaker Bob Cook confirmed to Sherdog.com that Baroni was released from his Strikeforce contract in the past few days and would be free to sign with another promotion.

Baroni (13-11) dropped a unanimous decision to Joe Riggs in St. Louis in June. He had won three bouts in a row before the loss.
....

so retarded.....

why would the ufc sign baroni, he's pretty awful at this point in his career, and seems to lose everytime he steps in the ring/cage

i guess because he can lose spectacularly? Kind of like a shittier version of Chris Leben.

I love the part where Dana White stands up. The look on his face is great.

So when does Gina battle the scale today? Maybe there will be lulz.

Leites is still in the UFC

Thales Leites was stunned on Saturday when he heard that judges had come to a split decision in his fight with Alessio Sakara at UFC 101 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. He was even more stunned when he came out on the short end of the verdict.

But the really shocking news came on Thursday, when he learned he was being dropped by the Ultimate Fighting Championship only four months after competing for the middleweight title.

It turns out, though, that Leites still has a job with the UFC.

UFC president Dana White wasn't aware of plans to drop both Leites and welterweight Tamdan McCrory and said he would reverse those decisions.
