I think he'll get a contract for at least one fight if not more. Whether it makes sense or not he brings a lot of people to the sport. And Dana wants moneys.

Just watched it now. God, these fights are awful. I'm surprised Dana allowed Kimbo to fight in only the 3rd episode. If he loses, there goes a bunch of the audience.

The whole season is pretty much a throw away.
Rampage leaving takes away the coach vs coach gimmick and also hurts the show and the fights from the first two do not help.
Though you also have to remember, losing does not kick you out of the house and the main theme of this season will end up being everyone be an ass and try and prove something by starting shit with Kimbo.

the strikeforce show for Fedor vs Rodgers has been confirmed to be in Chicago (hoffman estates) for their CBS debut, tickets go on sale monday, i think i'm going to grab some tickets

If I weren't so lazy I'd grab some myself.

if Kimbo loses he will have even less relevance than before nobody will be clamoring to see him fight.

Kimbo has one thing going for him, in that he's fighting an actual fighter. He's not fighting an ex-NFL player or a walking tree, so even if he loses well it would be more impressive than either of the wins so far. If Nelson completely blows through him, though, then yeah it's gotta be over.

he seems really disturbed. Wouldn't be surprised if he up and quits fighting like Rampage.

He will always be a big draw to the fanbase the way the UFC has marketed him and TUF but that loss to Silva will probably be career defining. It wasn't your normal "I got knocked out fight" where you can just rationalize about being caught which happens. He was utterly destroyed.

Men's Absolute Final
Bráulio Estima (Brazil) def. Xande Ribeiro (Brazil) via arm/shoulder injury

They tie up. Xande drops to a knee and Braulio pulls guard. Braulio rolls over looking for an armbar and nearly locks up an inverted triangle! Still trying for it as Xande defends from his knees. Now Braulio has the triangle cinched up tight, but Xande's snuck an arm inside to defend. That triangle isn't going anywhere though. Xande stands with Braulio still hanging off his front with the triangle. Braulio loosens up the triangle a bit - Xande shucks him off and follows down to half guard. Now the ref steps in to stop the fight... Xande seems to be holding his right arm. Yep, definitely an arm injury - Xande isn't moving the arm at all. Braulio is overjoyed, crying with happiness.

Estima wins $40,000 and the right to face Jacare at ADCC 2011.

Men's Absolute 3rd Place
Vinicius Magalhaes (Brazil) def. Gunnar Nelson (Iceland) via points (3-0) in OT

Men's Absolute - Semi-Finals
Bráulio Estima (Brazil) def. Vinicius Magalhaes (Brazil) via points (7-0)
Xande Ribeiro (Brazil) def. Gunnar Nelson (Iceland) via kneebar

Men's Absolute - Quarter-Finals
Bráulio Estima (Brazil) def. Marcelo Garcia (Brazil) via rear-naked choke
Vinicius Magalhaes (Brazil) def. Chris Weidman (USA) via armbar
Xande Ribeiro (Brazil) def. Andre Galvao (Brazil) via points (3-0)
Gunnar Nelson (Iceland) def. David Avellan (USA) via rear-naked choke

Men's Absolute Division - Opening Round
Bráulio Estima (Brazil) def. Janne-Pekka Pietiläinen (Finland) via armbar
Marcelo Garcia (Brazil) def. Bruno Bastos (Brazil) via rear-naked choke
Vinicius Magalhaes (Brazil) def. Dean Lister (USA) via referee decision
Chris Weidman (USA) def. Antoine Jaoude (Brazil) via points (3-0)
Xande Ribeiro (Brazil) def. Ricco Rodriguez (USA) via kimura
Andre Galvao (Brazil) def. Tom De Blass (USA) via points (3-0)
Gunnar Nelson (Iceland) def. Jeff Monson (USA) via points (3-0) in OT
David Avellan (USA) def. Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu (Brazil) via referee decision

Men's +99kg (+218 lbs.) Final
Fabricio Werdum (Brazil) def. Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu (Brazil) via points (9-0)
Once scoring began, Werdum passed Cyborg's guard three times for the win.

Men's -99kg (-218 lbs.) Final
Xande Ribeiro (Brazil) def. Gerardi Rinaldi (USA) via points (2-0)
A very technical match in which the only points came from a Xande guard sweep.

Men's -88kg (-194 lbs.) Final
Bráulio Estima (Brazil) def. André Galvão (Brazil) via inverted triangle
One of the highlights of the weekend. Estima latched it on as Galvao tried to pass guard.

Men's -77kg (-170 lbs.) Final
Pablo Popovich (Brazil) def. Marcelo Garcia (Brazil) via points (3-2)
Down 2-0, Pablo passed guard in the final 10 seconds. Great finish.

Men's -66kg (-145 lbs.) Final
Rafael Mendes (Brazil) def. Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles (Brazil) via points (3-0)
Shocker in double overtime here. Mendes almost finished Cobrinha multiple times.

Women's +60kg (+132 lbs.) Final
Hannette Staack (Brazil) def. Penny Thomas (USA) via kneebar

Women's -60kg (-132 lbs.) Final
Luanna Alzuguir (Brazil) def. Sayaka Shioda (Japan) via points (3-0)

If the fights from the first two episodes are an indicator of the quality of fighters this season. Then I don't think Kimbo has much to worry about.

I'm actually excited about tuning in moreso for Rampage's horrible corner advice than anything else. Next week: "Punch him! You gotta hit him! Hit him! Use your hands to punch him!!"

Granted, sometimes repeating the same thing is warranted, like when you're cornering Andy Wang.

Lol the classic was when he was repeatedly shouting "Do what ya godda do!" during Wes' fight. That wasn't helpful at all...

I'm looking forward to the main event, but Coleman hasn't belonged on a PPV poster in about 7 years.

He should beat Oritz unless he gets crippled before the fight. Still two (former) headliners is good enough for me.

it was like yesterday that chuck was force feeding him foam core wrapped in leather..and now his pecs have their own gravity field..i feel bad for aerts..that was a grueling fight...there's also rumors that K1 is going to hold the tourney every other year now.

nice, but us real men stay up all the way till 6 ;)

p.s. is he giving a hand job in the first panel?

watwatwat?
no! i´m turning the light off!

the forrest interview felt weird.. he was trying hard to be funny but .. i dont know..
he looks a bit broken.

Big Gut, aka Roy Nelson, was the favorite to win the show. However, I'm starting to think the surprise of the show is that Kimbo ends up kicking his ass.
