cro cop has said this for each of his last 3 fights. i really have a hard time believing anything is going to be different. i think rothwell will pepper him with a few shots, get a takedown and either gnp or sub crocop in the first.

Yup, Crocop has looked like shit in the UFC, but he always talks up a new change in routine. Until we see a flash of Mirko of old, it's all just talk.

So Koscheck is fighting Paul Daley at 112. Do you think Semtex could get a title shot if he's able to knockout Kos in impressive fashion?

I think it's guaranteed he gets a title shot if he takes out Koshcheck. The UFC are starving for fresh challengers to GSP's crown.

I wish CroCop would make some kind of come back. He was always my favourite fighter in Pride but has been a constant disappointment in UFC. To see him come back would be glorious.

I've long since given up on that happening though.

I'd like to say that this fight is specifically made to wring a bit more out of the Cro Cop wagon, because we all love the guy. Rothwell could be cut tomorrow and no one would care. But he is so obviously past his prime at this point, I just don't know. I do know that I don't care for Rothwell, ugh.

Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira -105
Cain Velasquez -125

So...

-hitting Kongo 250 times on the ground without being able to stop him and being dropped by Kongo in every standup exchange

and

-dominating Ben Rothwell (despite the bad stoppage, still a dominant performance)

...makes you the favorite against Nog? Wow.

wow, I don't bet on MMA....but man, this is like betting against the Browns when they had Jeff Garcia all over again......easy money.

I'm sure they see Cain using his wrestling to just take Nog down and lay n praying for most of the match..and just winning a split decision.

I don't know though... I can see Nog doing a better job of finishing Cain, compared to Kongo's attempts.....and of course if Cain took Nog down... Nog could end it there.....but this is what is great about MMA, anything can happen.

Anyone from the BayArea, CA know if this will be shown Live at any bars?
It'll be live at any bar that normally shows UFC fights. UFC 110's main card starts at 2PM Australian time which is 7pm Pacific time. So basically it'll be live beginning at the time every other live UFC PPV event starts at.

No Spike prelims this time though.

You just had to go and get my hopes up again didn't you....

...aww hell. WAR CROCOOOOOOOOP

I mean, I've tried to give up on Cro Cop in the UFC, but I just can't. I loved him too goddamn much in PRIDE, and I'll back him till the end.

I'll take some sand or some Sham Wows and clean the ring before Cro Cops fight, should be able to whip out the high kicks then no probs.

You still have some time left to design an electrified cup...

Would think Nog has the advantage. Randys got some good boxing and Nog out classed him and dropped him....... Cain was being rocked by Kongo repeatedly and took the fight to the ground to GnP, technically very smart but it may play into Nogs favour with the BJJ n stuff.

Will be a damn good fight, hopefully makes it into 2nd or 3rd round and ends with a K.O or sub.......... gonna say Arm Bar by Nog.

wait, who has better stand up, nog or cain? Could cain use his wrestling to keep the fight standing?
well, all of cains wins have been KO's except for his match with Kongo, but to be honest, i would still have a little more faith in nog's stand up rather than his. cain looked so out of it against kongo while they were standing, and kongo is an elite striker for sure, i think that clean and precise shots from nog can land and do some damage.

Randy is old and has a weak chin now. And Kongo is a lot better striker than Nog.

I don't think Kongo can be considered an elite striker any more after he was dropped by Mir so easily. And everyone thinks Mir's striking is average at best.

Anyway, hope Nog either decisions or ubmits Cain.

To be fair to Kongo, he thought a takedown was coming and dropped his hands and got ready to sprawl, and it was actually a huge overhand punch. Similar thing happened to Mirko vs Randleman in their first fight.

But Mir definitely backed up his horrible shit talking that time. MMA striking is indeed a different ballgame than kickboxing, and that's how he said he had an advantage standing: the threat of the takedown.

"Talking about millimeters. One small shift to the left when he should've gone right and the fight's over."

"How do we prepare for a guy like Antonio Nogueira... *nervous laughter* ...we have to prepare in every area."

"The thing about Nogueira is...where's his weakness?"

"If we don't respect the fact that he's the most dangerous ground guy in the world..."

"It'll be a short night for us if he makes the kinds of mistakes [he made against Kongo]."

AKA are making it sound like Cain is on the first transport at D-Day, haha.

Man tickets for UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi aren't selling like events held outside usually do. They better start putting asses on those seats or we won't be seeing more MMA events around these parts any time soon.

Wow @ Bisping's manager in 110 Countdown, reacting to Wandy saying he always brings it and has a lot of "of the night" bonuses:

Douchebags of a feather, eh.

They douche together indeed... just watched that myself...

So, I'm thinking of some parlay action again, $50 on:

Nog at -110
Wand at -145
Sotiropolous at +200
Bader at -160
Cro Cop at -145

I'd win $1278 if they all won. I really think Sotiropolus' Jits is underrated and think he can beat Stevenson, even this new improved Greg Jackson-trained version. I also feel that Wand and Cro Cop have really stepped up their training a whole lot and both have some newfound determination. Nog is no longer a zombie too.

Alright, I have to ask. How do you bet an MMA fight? What are the +/- 's? Can you bet a parlay just for outright wins?

Yeah, I did that same lineup the other day. And a single bet on Nog at +105 (wow), and some other combinations involving Nog.

Set up an account online at a sportsbook site like bodog or 5dimes. They both allow for parlays.

Doing parlay`s in MMA is brave.

Is anyone from Montreal and knows a good bar?
I dont want to watch it at home and no one I know here is is into sports.

Holy shit @ Nog +105. Mind if I ask which site this is?

Sportbet had those odds briefly, they've since changed.

I dunno Poly, Sotoropolous is pretty one dimensional, I don't think he's got what it takes to beat Stevenson.

Mirkooooooooooo Cro Cop! He will destroy Big Ben. Quote me now.

I am glad that he is training on his stand up with actually strikers who are pushing him. Fighters need to train in their main style at all times. Machida always trains Karate but supplements with other martial arts. If Cro Cop can regain his confidence in his striking, the HW division is fucked.

I bet the Nog money came in fast and hard at those odds :lol

I think he'll destroy Rothwell (hope, hope) but no way is he destroying the HW division.

No no, I just mean...how do the odds work in a fight? If I bet Crocop -105, what does that mean? Minus 105 ____? I must be missing something really obvious. I've only ever bet football games against the spread, or outright winners.

-105 means bet a $105 to win $100.

+105 means bet $100 to win $105.

in parlays, there's a multiplication factor applied to the odds.

these are used for bets for outright wins or otherwise in mma.
