How many more embarassing losses before LilEvil calls it a career? Or at least join the local show circuit and fade away into the sunset. I don't need to see him on WEC anymore getting outclassed anymore.

pulver should go bantam or retire. How someone can go this many years in mma and make such basic mistakes on the ground, I don't know. But he does have a win over penn, and that says a lot, especially for a guy his size.

It's good to be back home, and not having to rely on my iphone for internet access.

Bartimus' comeback armbar was cer-azy!

Pulver cannot compete at the top level. Sad to see, he should call it quits.

Also seems that Torres cannot cope with the increase in skill in his weight class. For years he was the big fish in the small pond. In spite of the numbers on his record, it is clear that he is no GSP/Penn/Fedor.

torres fought worse than when he was over confident. Now he has no confidence. Hope to see him bounce back but being overly cautious is boring as hell.

On the principle of "best entrance music wins the fight," Bowles runs away with it. However, the opposite tends to prove true. So knowing nothing at all about Cruz I fully expect a title change tonight.

BAM! I dunno what the fuck happened, but I so called it!

so is it crazy to want Scott Jorgensen to get the next shot? He might not have the resume but i'll be damned if he wouldn't make for an entertaining fight. Maybe Benavidez vs Jorgensen for no. 1 contender.

damn man, Faber fights what, 4 rds? with a broken hand, and brian quits going into the third.

i like the guy man, but he might have just wanted a way out of that fight.

Broken hand?

Poor muffin. Faber went 5 rounds with Brown with both hands broken.

Still, Cruz was kicking Bowles' ass. I think what we are seeing is the consequences of the prominence of the lower weight divisions. Neither FW nor BW had much prominence or competition until the past 2-3 years. Now that the top competitors in those two divisions are starting to compete, I think we'll see a bit of chaos in those two divisions for a while until a hierarchy establishes itself, very similar to the UFC's weight classes.

Faber broke his hand and also fucked up his other wrist, he had no usable hands and still went five full rounds. I saw the surgery scars to prove it last year at Bonnaroo :lol

I don't know about that entirely. I think Aldo's going to prove to be the real deal.

c'mon guys. Granted what Faber did was pretty incredible, but its not fair to question another fighter's determination based on that standard. A guy is a pussy now because he doesn't want to go on fighting with a broken hand?

edit: Man I wish the UFC would ditch Spike and go to Versus fulltime for their TV stuff. Not only because I actually get Vs. in HD, but their presentation is way more professionally done and they actually show cards live.

Oh, absolutely. Aldo is f'ing crazy. He certainly has the potential. It's just hard to say with the division being so young.

selfishly, I disagree, because I don't get Versus here in Canada, and so I am at the whim of the battle to the second tier Canadian sports networks. Tonight's event was aired by The Score, but it took me 15 F'ing minutes to figure out that I actually GOT The Score and to figure out what channel it was on. But sometimes, the WEC is shown live on TSN, which I also get. But sometimes, it is shown on TSN2, which I do not get. In other words: FUCK THAT SHIT.

In comparison, Spike is consistent for me. I always get Spike, so I know that if an MMA event is on Spike, that I will be able to watch it.

I`m disappointed,
I wanted Torres to win, Pulver to at least look energized and Bowles to defend.

BUH

EDIT
Biggest surprise apart from that was Bonnar actually doing a good job.
Also shows how awful and shitty the strikeforce people are.
I always prefer calm over YAPYAPYAP shamrock.

Pretty good, but bummer how the Bowles/Cruz fight ended. Still, Bowles seemed outmatched, maybe he broke his hand immediately but he looked dazed after getting hit in the head a lot.

Torres. Gawddamn. That was a beating. Torres looked so much more cautious and it did not pay off. What a monster guillotine that guy has.

Pulver cries and apologizes again. Time to quit, I like him, but time to quit.

Really liked Bonnar, btw. He looks crazy when he stares but I thought his commentary was great.

Really great night of fights, other than Taurosevicius-Davis. Bowles was getting picked apart so bad don't really blame him for quitting although I know in this culture most fans will be upset about it. Too bad for WEC that the real championship fight, Cruz-Benavidez, already happened, but I guess they can pretty easily sell a rematch.

They probably would have a deal with Sportsnet up here. That's who is showing Vera/Jones. They aren't horrible.

Shiii...once Benavidez locks in the guillotine choke, it's pretty much game over.

Cruz went ninja-gaiden on Bowles. He just didn't have an answer for him.
Decisive victory, props.

Cruz said he loves fighting as the underdog...well, gaining the belt is just the beginning then...bro...

When are they merging WEC again?
…Still think the UFC brand isn't the most dominant in combat sports? According to MMAJunkie.com, 8,345 was the total attendance figure for the WEC event at Nationwide Arena in Columbus on Saturday, a significant dip from the 17,000 that attended UFC 96 in the same venue this time last year …
Such a great night of fights and it seems like very few people gave a shit. Can't believe they're doing a PPV.

I'd consider getting that PPV just to see Cerrone fight but not for $50. It's gotta be $20 or less. I'm definitely getting UFC 111 though.
