Is Anderson going to go after the 205 belt now?

well according to dana white, hes gotta defend the mw strap against chael sonnen and vitor belfort, provided he beats both then he will move up to 205

Sportsnet is reporting that the UFC has booked the Roger's Centre in Toronto for March 26, 2011.......

With that and the news that they will soon be opening corporate offices in Toronto......I wonder if they have some sort of news that MMA will be sanctioned in Ontario soon.........

Dana also said that he won't let Anderson fight for 2 belts, so if he wants to fight for it he'll have to move up permanently and let go off the 185lb belt. I'd also like to see him fight Okami, he was beating the hell out of him before the DQ and was very very upset after he was DQed, so I'm sure he'd bring it.

Why the hell not?

2 x the belts, 2 x the defence fights.

That's true, but White also said he's open to Jose Aldo trying to go for three simultaneous titles. Aldo wants to drop down to bantamweight for the title there, and then move up to 155 and compete for the UFC Lightweight belt. Dana was cool with that plan.

edit:

im not so sure anderson would walk in and beat shogun anyways

Whatever happened, Silva sure has hell wouldn't have any need or chance to dance around and act a fool while demanding his opponent be aggressive.

LOL, just like he KOd forrest and jardine right?, 2 guys with porcelain chins, meanwhile shogun has a granite chin

if rampage survives rashads LNP effort next week, he will get beat up again in a rematch, i'm hoping for a rampage win, so we can see shogun/rampage II, but who knows how rampage will look after the long layoff, and its not like the wolfslair is the best camp, he did not look very good against jardine
Forrest tapped out Shogun so I don't see why you're harping on that loss. He will KO the Gun to complete his revenge run against Chutebox.

That strikes me as hubris.

Last word was that Dana and the UFC was bypassing the fuckstick that is Ken Hayashi and the Ontario Athletic Commission and lobbying at the federal level to get the Criminal Code provisions regarding prize fighting reworded to allow for MMA.

I'm not sure how feasible that is, but it's gotta be better than trying to go through Ontario.

I've followed the fight to get MMA sanctioned here for years. Had people a year or two ago hint that it was imminent, but I knew better. The system just isn't open to change here. It's worse than states like NY, where it may still be illegal, but there's mounting public pressure, even from politicians and former athletic commissioners, to allow it.

Here, if you even so much as ask about it to McGuinty, he spouts off some bullshit about it being not one of the top priorities of Ontario families, as if the solution is more complicated than shoving your boot up Ken Hayashi's ass and installing a commissioner willing to interpret the Criminal Code the same way that Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitboa, and Nova Scotia have.

All that being said, if and when the UFC comes to the Skydome I'm buying motherfucking floor seats, I don't care if it costs me 3 grand.

yacobod emphasizes certain fights to promote his perspective. Of course, we all do, I just like teasing him. ;)

That being said, I agree with him. Rampage/Shogun II would look very similar to the first fight.

(the hubris about "granite chins" is funny though, of course. Once upon a time, Nog, Couture, Chuck, Hunt etc. all had granite chins. I'll never hang my hat on a fight based on the idea that one of the fighters has a "granite" chin.)

Sitting at home.. friday night.. long weekend..

watching Moosin: God of Martial arts

this is sad
:lol

oooooh...
lutter gassed in the first round..

^There are streams for everything.

Moosin at 9 EDT, K-1 WGP 2010 in Bucharest at 10 on HDNet, and Challengers at 11 - SO MUCH OVERLAP.
no shit, I've got a shitty stream of Moosin on the computer and the tv is alternating between K-1 and Strikeforce, lol

MMA-TV is always on Channelsurfing, don't need to use whatever the official site is.

Lutter looked so bad, I'd rather be watching K-1 but no HDNet.

edit: bahahaha

lol Travis Wiuff in the co-main on a PPV

Hey man, he's the world YAMMA champion, don't disrespect son.

.... Is there a rapper introducing Pudz...? Wow.

Also Bas sounds completely and utterly sloshed.

I have no confidence in Tim..
I used to be like.. his only fan... but christ has he let himself go..

If he gets out of the first round he should win though..

I overestimated Pudz tank..

its about 2.5 minutes

There is something interesting about the "worlds strongest man" getting beat up..
especially by the swamp thing

dem gives up on Big Tim.

The world is ending....

Wow trying to interview Pudz first and he runs home to mommy. Awesome.

Pulled a Forrest?

I'm totally just dependent on text results, can't watch the stream currently...

Yea except they went to interview him before Timmy and he just walked away from the interview guy.

Lifting rocks and pulling airplanes != wrestling. != striking technique and KO power. != MMA conditioning. != BJJ.

Lol @ Mariusz's white belt triangle attempt, giving Tim the easy pass to side control. Ten years too soon, brah.

This is news in 2010? Dude was fucked at least as soon as his trainer threw his boxing technique under the bus.

geez, if monson can't triangle big Tim, I'd hope Mariusz can't...

WTF Errol Zimmerman's back says "Casino Queen"...

And he's wearing Alistair Overeem's MMA shorts..

Oh if you have HDNet switch away from that Strikeforce shit, Zimmerman's about to kick some ass.

EDIT: HOLY SHIT that was quick, WAR ZIMMERMAN

ya i was watching a stream of moosin, pretty telling when the best fight was a woman's fight tonight, guess i'm disappointed in in pudzian's effort, but i guess going 8 minutes with a former ufc champ in your 3rd professional fight with 2 weeks prep isnt that bad, but the dudes gas tank is terrible

i just want to quote one of my old posts from may 2009, i believe this was after machida's KO of evans

yacobod said:
i dont know if rampage has a better chance than rashad, but i think rampage has more power than rashad, better boxing, but can he check the kicks, and maybe mix up his game plan? rampage used to have good take downs and gnp, but he seems to have abandoned that part of his game, but i'll give him a punchers chance

i think shogun can be the best match up, but i'll wait on this one to see how he looks in his next fight, if he has another impressive outing, i think he should be up next for a title shot, and in shape & game shogun is still one of the best at 205, i think shogun vs. evans would be a good match up going forward from here

riding the shogun wagon real early

and why do you bring up the shogun/forrest fight, the dude was coming off double knee surgeries, shogun looked like shit following his surgeries versus forrest and coleman, since those two fights hes KO'd chuck and machida, he's back baby

and @ boogie, and i don't think my viewpoints are all that off, i like gsp, i just wish he would open up his game, i've been pretty critical of him after his last fight, but i understand its a sport and winning should be above anything else, he's been fighting too conservatively for my tastes, i really think the rematch with Kos is going to be decided standing, as i think kos is going to really focus on his wrestling going to the rematch, so i think his tdd will be ready for gsp this fight, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out, kos is probably the most interesting fight for gsp at 170 now that semtex is out of the ufc
