Pretty good WEC card. I can't stand Stephan Bonnar though.

No MFC thread last night for the hardcore hardcores?
I got a good night a head of me. Canadian Club + MFC on DVR which leads right in to UFC 122. Lots of good fights for 122 as well. It's the first time in awhile where when I was betting, I didn't choose all my fights to end in a decision. :D

you guys seen this video? guy goes crazy after he knocks out his opponent and keeps bashing him and eventually knocks the referee out too. hopefully this guys gets banned forever from mma.

I was almost ready to say the dude deserved it for looking so stupid during the staredown but then the other guys just...didn't stop. Jesus.

I don't think he meant to take out the ref though. Must be that horse meat rage.

i'm surprised people on the other guys corner didn't rush in and try to beat the hell out of that fighter. i know if i was in his corner i would grab anything heavy and rush the ring and try to beat the hell out of him for treating my fighter that way.

I actually thought the Kid Yamamoto looking guy was in the other dude's corner and was ready to fuck him up.

Can you imagine if this happened to someone from Cesar's camp with the Diazes cageside?

A gun would get pulled.

Does anyone think Rampage will beat Machida on Saturday? I'd put his chances at about 5% being generous

He's way too slow and plodding to deal with Machida. He may get lucky and land that hail mary punch, but 5% odds sounds about right.

Rampage is attacking, Machida is counter striking. Hope Page wins, Machida is meh.

I will be watching for George Sotiropoulous.

Dudes go 4 O's in his last name........ mental.

My hometown hero (Phil Davis) is finally gonna be on the main card this weekend. :D

Also, I'm gonna go see a live event in Harrisburg .. Pennsylvania Fighting Championship IV run by Steve Blackman. I went to the last one in June and it was awesome so I had to see this one. Nobody thats known is fighting but the one guy did fight Shannon Gugerty and Drew Fickett. :lol

Rootin' for :
- Machida
- Hughes
- Phil Davis (Thanks to Maklershed)

Either Dana White wants to give Machida a title shot soon (and Rampage + other top 10 win would do it) or he wants to fuck Rampage over, it's simply an incredibly terrible match up for Rampage. He is not taking Machida down, he is slow, he doesn't check leg kicks and he can't kick, which seems to be Machida's only vulnerability.

I like Machida and it'll be good to see him winning, but I like Rampage too and I don't think the UFC should match him up against Machida. He'll either get pissed with Machida's fight style and will attack mindlessly which will get him knocked out à la Rashad Evans or he'll be clearly outpointed in all three rounds.

Rampage hardly ever initiates, he is a counter puncher. If anything Machida will be the one to attack more often than not.

Fuckin lame. Nelsons damn entertaining. Fuck.
Totally true. It's one of those misconceptions like Kongo being striker when in reality he shoots for takedowns at every opportunity. Hype machine at work. Rampage always has been a counter striker.

We will see, i think he will attack and try get in close. Like people where saying if Machida starts lighting him up with kicks hes fucked. Hopefully he learned something training with Bisping................... LAWL.

You guys should feel safe betting the house on Machida. Rampage can't do shit to win this fight.
Actually going to agree for once. Rampage just isn't the same anymore. I see nothing good for him till he leaves that godawful Wolfslair camp.

I think he has been training in California for this fight.

I think he's been doing some work with Lance Gibson in Vancouver too. It sounds like Rampage is actually (finally!) taking his MMA career seriously again.

Yep, and he's brought over damn near the whole Wolfslair camp with him.

Lance Gibson was over there at Wolfslair for Page's fight with Rashad too so that's not a change.

All this being said, I'm still rooting for Rampage.

I like both fighters. But Page is not the same. If he loses it will be by UD. I can't see Lyoto KOing Page.
I don't think its even just a case of him not being the same. He is a bad match up for Machida stylistically. I guess he can hope that Machida has been thrown off by having Shogun finish him.

Yep, he's way too slow to be effective against Lyoto.

Is it weird that the fights I'm most looking forward to this weekend are:

1. Spiritwolf vs. Zaromskis
2. Williams vs. Martinez, yeah yeah wrong thread
2. Lauzon vs. Sotiropoulos

And this coming from one of the only Matt Hughes fans on GAF.

I'm hyped for all those, plus Hughes/Penn, Davis/Boetsch, Gerald Harris's fight and Shaolin too.

I'm stoked to see Phil Davis (hopefully) beat Boetsch's ass. Go Phil!

But the fights I'm really looking forward to are Lauzon vs Sotiropolous and Hallman vs Parisyan.

Classy Overeem response to Dana White's 'Overeem is not a ******* HW Top 10'

I’m not going to call the media stupid like Dana but let me put it this way; how can a real M.M.A. insider put a Brock Lesnar above Fedor Emelianenko or even JDS. The fact of the matter is I like that people are debating the rankings but I don’t take them that seriously.

I’m fully aware that I have to prove myself, I know I can defeat anybody so it’s my job to prove it to my fans and to my doubters.

machida vs ramapage will probably be boring. shogun knocking him out probably took out all the aggression he was showing his past couple of fights. expect the return of decision machida.

i never hid the fact that i hate machida, the only thing he's done in the ufc that has impressed me was when he tooled rashad evans, but i do think he's probably a lock to pull out a boring decision win over rampage, he will probably win with volume punching and being elusive, rampage will get frustrated by the 2nd round and it will be funny

if for any reason machida decides to stand in the pocket and trade though, i think rampage can knock him out, he's still probably got the heaviest hands at 205, and will be interesting to see how machida rebounds after getting KTFO by shogun
