Jay Hieron beat up Anthony Lapsley for most of the first round then had him in a downward-facing RNC. He looked like he was out so Rosenthal stopped the fight then he stood up right away and started complaining.
 
I know it's a women's fight so the pool isn't very deep to begin with, and I know there was an injury, but when somebody is fighting for your title and says "This is the end of my dream from a year ago" referencing when she started training MMA...well, when that happens you're Strikeforce.

To be fair she's a late replacement, and Tate won that one-night tournament after submitting Frausto which was pretty legit.
 
I mean, support the troops and all, but fuuuuck, what a transparent and grating gimmick this guy is.

I hated Brian Stann too until I read an interview where he seemed kind of embarrassed to be pushed as the WEC's GI Joe.

That's just smart promotion though. A little cheap, but a win over Vanderlei gets him over huge.

Tim Kennedy is just a whole new level of annoyingness. He makes Brian Stann seem like Osama Bin Laden. The fucker might as well have said he's the reason we don't all speak arabic.

This is a really good fight.

I'm so convinced she's getting subbed but she's escaping everything so effortlessly.

Carmouche doesn't discrminate when it comes to kneeing body parts.

She could have easily finished that if she wasn't content to hammer on Coenen's arms. I don't get it.
 
Coenan is getting handled here, but if I recall her title fight she was getting beat against Kaufman until she got the submission. Not this badly, but there's still two rounds to go against somebody with one year of experience.

Granted, not like she's using the experience advantage well on the ground to this point.

naw i think she was winning the most of that fight, i think kaufman couldnt really get the fight on the ground, and when she finally did she got subbed.

honestly what a downgrade from the first 2 mma events at the nationwide arena, i actually bothered to go to the arnold classic 2 years in a row for Randy/Timmy and Anderson/Hendo.

ufc needs to come back to the classic and put on a good event since they dont want to come back to chicago.
