Just got my Strikeforce tickets, $104 per person for the 2nd row of the loge, dead center.

Best deal you will ever see for a MMA event in the US IMO.

Oh and Maklershed, Akiyama wasn't replaced by Nate, they were scheduled to fight each other. Now it is Nate Marquardt vs. Dan Miller, Jim's brother.

Yeah the only thing about MT that bugs the shit out of me is the whole blessing of the ring ceremony thing they do before each fight and the music that is played during the fight.

Akiyama was going to be fighting Marquardt, it is Dan Miller that has replaced Akiyama.

I'm pretty jealous, should be a great card. There a reason you don't care much for Akiyama? All his fights so far in the UFC have been fun.
 
I had just put money on Akiyama! Obviously I don't fault him for not participating, but it's still unfortunate to turn what could have been the FotN into a one-sided affair against Dan Miller.

Miller's wrestling presents more problems for Marquart than Akiyama's stand and wang would have.

Looks like Strikeforce is going to run seperately... hmmm. So they are going back to being a 2 promotion company again. Too bad.
 
It's mega-huge news, but as long as they're run as separate companies I don't think it'll effect day to day life. I think once Showtime's contract runs out, all bets are off.

Scott Coker may still be staying on, Dana may say it's "literally business as usual" but it's only a matter of time until they merge.

Also, great to see Ariel Helwani getting the exclusive interview.

This is crazy. It does seem like it is being kept separate due to the current contracts in place. Once the contacts expire it will be interesting to see what happens.

Yea he said 2 years roughly left with Showtime, I imagine after that it'll be open season.
 
When the #1 company buys the #2 company, no matter how they're structured, it won't be business as usual

Funny to hear Dana claiming he's only seen Strikeforce "a couple of times"
 
Once the contracts are up, UFC will sign who the want, everyone else will get released and Strikeforce will be turned into an all women league lol.

If anything noteworthy happens he has people that can show him vids or fill him in.
I guarantee that he has better things to do.

I would say the women at the last Showtime event made many of the men look pathetic.

The several times he's tweeted after events suggests to me he probably does watch. Tweeting
":)" after the times Fedor lost, and after they had the brawl inside the cage that time.

Probably watches whenever Henderson fights too, pulling for him to lose
 
I honestly don't know if this is the greatest thing to happen..or the absolute worse things to happen to MMA since PrideFC was sold.. I just don't know..
