Yeah, but he didn't answer or seem to understand Ariel's question about retirement.

I'm really hoping Nog has something left in the tank. Fighting in front of the Gracies, his family, and his students, I would hate to see him get knocked out. If he could pull off a win in Brazil, it'd be a great way to ride off into the sunset on a high note.
 
Watched the UFC countdown on Sherdog forums, mainly for the Silva/Okami prefight stuff. Imagine my surprise when I saw that Sonnen had been training Okami, and still talking trash about Silva.

You would think that Sonnen would STFU since he tapped out, and then got suspended for failing his drug test.

Silva was right, Sonnen is a loser.

Great fighters never ride off into the sunset, true fighters die by the sword, its in their dna. Nog is going to get violently kod and its going to be sad. Hopefully after he gets kod he doesn't try to grapple with the ref or have those glazed my soul has been stolen look.

Anderson is going to style on okami.

War shogun! Going to indy to watch the ppv with my brother, not sure if I'm gonna rock my pride shirt or maybe a bad boy shirt. Gonna be super pissed if he gets decisioned or stopped by forrest again.
 
Andersons style gives him a longer time frame fighting then a brawler. Hes in and out, doesnt take damage. However once his speed starts to go, he could start taking damage and getting hurt. Cause its his speed and precision that saves him now from getting hurt.

Okamis wrestling isn't even close to the same level as sonnens. Sonnen wrestlefucked okami, and also wrestlefucked marquardt, okami had a lot of trouble scoring tds on nate. I hate how everyones like well he can just do what sonnen did. Chael has like the most relentless shot in the ufc, when he commits to a takedown, its over. Only dude with better tds is blanket gsp.

Ya but when those speed/reflex guys lose it, boy does it get ugly, see roy jones jr, conveniently the guy anderson sorta models himself after.
 
Anderson says he wants a real fight I would love to see Evans move to 185. With his height he could do it, maybe he would lose a little muscle, but would gain speed. GSP and bones are obviously picks but that wont happen

Okami took Silva down in their first fight. He was in full guard when the illegal upkick happened. Since then Okami has gotten bigger, and from training with Chael, it should be even easier for him to take Anderson down. Obviously Anderson has gotten a lot better since then also, but TDD is still a major hole in his game. C'mon even Lutter put him on his back. Barring a Vitor's Back front kick to the face in the first minute, this fight should go to the ground at some point.

omg Evans would wrestlefuck Silva into oblivion.

and Eggo, Silva was pulling guard, he allowed the fight to go to the ground.
 
Gonzaga just seems like one of those guys that should win way more than he does. He's got incredible power and good stand up. I don't get it. Maybe he's too nervous or doesn't come in with a good game plan?

EDIT: Dayumn he's only a few months older than me? I thought he was a much older dude for some reason.

I think GSP would become sonnen part deux and rely completely on his wrestling (moreso than now) at 185. No way Bones could make that cut without destroying himself.

I know he couldnt, more meant a catchweight or silva going back to 205. But like I said, wont happen. Neither will GSP...we are just stuck with the baron 185 division

Silva vs. Bones would make for a great match. But you're right... never going to happen. :(

Exactly, why move up and fight guys bigger and stronger than you when you can make the weight and(seemingly) utterly dominate guys in a lighter division.
 
Dana just did a livestream with questions for the first time...said he wants to see either a GSP/Silva or a Bones/Silva....but more likely GSP/Silva because they have already been through all the competition whereas Bones still has plenty of good matchups at 205.

Still, I dont think it will happen. GSP doesn't want Silva, Silva doesn't want Bones. I think Bones would take it though.

Yeah, Sonnen had Silva on his back nearly the entire fight.

Sonnen still got tapped out. His face got turned into hamburger as well.

All Silva did was open old scar tissue. Nothing was turned in to Hamburger.

sonnen dominated his opponent for about as long as possible while still losing the fight. i still remember watching that fight in disbelief, i thought for sure he was going to lnp his way to victory in the 5th, cant believe he got tapped.

Anderson was even getting tagged standing. Chael BEAT UP Anderson.


I was in shock that whole fight.

exactly, he was winning like all the stand up exchanges in the fight too, it was surreal. that was a weird card overall, i think fitch out-grappled and out-struck thiago alves that night too.

So Silva doesn't bruise easily? You're crazy if you think Anderson beat him up. The only reason Sonnen wasn't champ that night was because of his shitty sub defense.

Hey, I'm just going by the physical damage. Not to mention that Sonnen was roided up and Silva had a bruised rib.


If my brother came home looking like Sonnen after that fight, I'd wonder who kicked his ass.
