HOLY FUCK ROGER HUERTA

COMING OUT IN THE 3rd ROUND
I HAVE NEVER SEEN A FIGHTER WITH THAT KIND OF FIRE IN HIS EYES.

CRAZY

Forrest and Rampage are the coaches on the next tuf

and they'll be fighting on the end

Isn't Rampage injured? So he probably wouldn't be able to fight until whenever the next season of TUF would end anyway.

TUF takes FOREVER

Rampage surely would have been ready to fight before the end.

Man that Jrock v. Warmachine was a bloodbath. The fight felt like it was going to end at any second but somehow managed to almost go the full 3. After all the momentum swings i really thought Jrock had him at the end but after that reversal he just ran out of gas (or blood....). That's the kind of fight that either makes you love MMA or despise it.

How bout that Huerta too, i totally agree about the look in his eyes. He had that "f*ck it, i'm either knocking you out or you're knocking me out this sh*t ain't going decision" look on his face going into round 3 :lol. That was movie script stuff. Down 2 rounds with no hope for a decision, your opponent has been taking you down at will, he's giving punches as good as he's getting them, and your only hope for a win is a knockout; and somehow he pulls out the victory. After tonight i'm putting him on my "must watch" list, his fights are always entertaining. I was shocked when he managed to escape round 2 after he caught that uppercut when for all intents and purposes he was on his knees.

man i was screaming and cheering when huerta pulled off the choke. fights like the huerta and the war machine is the reason why mma is my fav sport.

Holy crap. What an awesome night of fights. I havent's oohed and holy crapped this much in a while.

War Machine at the end there was amazing. Clay was amazing. The fake takedown that caused Huerta to falsely shoot, then whammo almost a KO punch made me scream. At 2AM.

And R3. Fuck.

Did I mention wow or holy fuck yet?

I dunno, I saw lots more talent here than I recall in the last few TUF finales. Then again we did get Nate and J. Lo from last season.

Anyways, awesome all around. Just a few weeks for Hughes GSP III. Woo.

Damn Huerta stole that fight from me. :lol Against most fighters, that fight was a lock after the second round but I have never seen a fighter with determination in his eyes after being so close to losing like Huerta did at the start of the third. He was too cocky before the fight the way he was looking past Guida's skills so hopefully he realizes how tough the LW division really is. It's gonna be hard for me to ever bet against a guy who can pull off a win at anytime it seems.

Woot, another title being put on hold because the champ is a coach. I'm thrilled to know that contenders like Thiago Silva or Lyoto Machida may not get a title shot till 2009.

Clay Guida had that fight. :(

Oh man I was going crazy when Guida caught Huerta with that upper cut. Thought the fight was going to be over. I give mad props to Huerta pulling the victory out in the 3rd round. Came out and did a complete 180 and won. Fight of the Night. And contender for Fight of the Year.

Man I had +$15k on Guida and was minutes away from likely being 1st for the event and top 10 for the season. Still can't say I'm disappointed with such a great, great fight though. Definitely fight of the year contender.

On one hand, that fight definitely tells me Huerta's wrestling was exposed (if it wasn't already against Doug Evans) and he'll continue to have trouble with wrestlers as he vies for the title against guys like Edgar, Tyson and Sherk. On the other hand, he finished Guida, something many great fighters like Din, Tyson and Melendez failed to do and that speaks volumes. Shit, how many guys can take a beating at the end of one round and not come out tired and tentative but with fire and aggression in the next? Right now, I'm pretty sure that the more Huerta is losing a fight, the more he powers up with energy like a mexican super saiyan.

that forrest griffin is one of the coaches on the next TUF, and how the next season of TUF will be alot different from the first few.

Ok lttp what was Danas announcement? my dvr cut off like the last 5 minutes.

Forrest Griffen as one of the TUF7 coaches. Tonight at the VGA's he will announce the other coach which is pretty much a lock for Quinton Jackson.

And just got through watching the other war. Wow. Amazing card. I'm sorry I skipped it live. Better than the last PPV.

Despite losing Guida is one of my favorite fighters. Everytime that dude fights it's a war.

Guida stopping short on his takedown and then punching Huerta in the face is classic. :lol

Terry Martin's myspace blog:

Just found out that I am suppose to fight Marvin Eastman Feb. 2, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay. The fight is to be aired on CBS. So it will be free for everyone. Time to get back on track with the Super Bowl of all knock outs.

UFC ON CBS

“I was hurt. He rocked me, man. I was slightly knocked out but I knew what was going on. I just heard this ringing, and it was the weirdest thing, all I saw was all this hair, I didn’t know if it was a human being or a lion attacking me, then after about 10 seconds I was like ‘Hey Clay’ and it was back on.”

:lol

What a fucking night of fights. Top to bottom fucking amazing fights. Fuck the mayweather fight, Fight Night owned all last night. Seriously, i'm fucking pumped right now.

i prefer tommy speers over that big tall dufus he beat. ben saunders i think is his name, he's the tim silvia of that division.

What? I watched the whole season, and I thought Ben looked good. He has a goofy personality but he has a nice ground game and good standup. He also seemed pretty aggressive to me in his fights.. I'm not sure how that makes him like Tim. I actually thought Ben was the 2nd best fighter on the show behind....

Mac - I didn't want to see him win because he was such a jerk on the show but he completely dominated everyone who got in with him.

That was an incredible night of fights. War Machine v Jrock was surprising. I certainly didn't think War Machine would control wrestling position for a large portion of the fight. He didn't really try to get out of full guard. Jrock was throwing the elbows how Serra had been trying to get one of his guys to do. You don't see many people do that from the guard, but I'm not sure why. Using the tip of the elbow like that to hammer down is sure to cut people. Crazy ending, it looked like War Machine was just so gassed he couldn't even defend himself. He couldn't keep his hands up and ate a huge punch.. it just looked like he was done. Then all of a sudden he sweeps and gets an andrenaline rush or something.

Guida vs Huerta - :0 Guida was dominated the whole fight, but he had some close calls on the feet. He had been holding his own, but he was swinging pretty wild at points and I thought he had been stunned a couple of times earlier. Huerta finally stunned him, and managed to stuff the obvious takedown attempts and keep on him.

The bottom two weight classes almost always produce the best fights.

We must have been watching a diffrent fight cuz I had Guida up 2 rounds to none going into that last round.

Guida was up 2 rounds to 0 going into the third. He dominated Roger. Don't know what the fuck that guy is smoking.

I dont know if it was ever "domination".. except the end of the 2nd when Guida was going savage with the ground and pound. DOUBLE HAMMER FIST BABY! :lol

They were fairly even rounds.. Roger just couldnt stop the takedowns.

Yes that was a typo, I meant Clay had clearly won the first two rounds.

:lol yeah the double hammer fist was funny

Rampage has a broken hand. It makes sense to put him in as the next TUF coach. Besides, Thiago is going to have to prove himself further and work his way up the line because the division is stacked. Assuming Rampage gets by Forrest, he's likely looking at a defense against Chuck/Wanderlei/Jardine, which would round out 2008. You think Silva/Machida should get a shot before those guys?

The way I see it.

Fights to deserve title shot:

Forrest - 1 more win would be good
Jardine - 1 more win would be good
Wand - Needs 1 win to get exposure
Chuck - Needs 2 wins for title shot
Thiago - At least 1 but 2 more wins would be good
Machida - 1 more win would be good
Shogun - At least 1 but 2 more wins would be good

I do. I think your current win streak should have to be as long or longer than the losing streak that proceeded it. By the time that Chuck or Wandy win 2 or 3 fights in a row Machida could possibly be up to 6 or 7 in a row.

Vitor Belfort is meeting with Joe Silva this week about a return to the ufc!

Belfort will meet UFC matchmaker Joe Silva on Wednesday, the Brazilian told Sherdog.com, and is specifically looking to avenge his last bout in the UFC, a split decision loss to Tito Ortiz (Pictures).

"I want to rip his big head off," said a re-motivated Belfort. "The last time I had a back problem, and he just laid on top of me with a broken nose bleeding all over me and I tired in the last round."

But now the 30-year-old "Phenom" said he no longer has "a building" on his back, referring to a slew of personal issues, and has concentrated on improving his cardio.

He also explained that while other promotions, like EliteXC and M-1, have contacted him, he is more concerned with re-establishing his legacy in the UFC, beginning with Ortiz.

"I'm willing to fight him winner take all, the loser gets nothing," Belfort said of the former UFC light heavyweight champion. "He's a millionaire, he doesn't need money -- he has to have pride."

VITOR!
At the worst he's a decent gate keeper type

:lol I forgot about him.

Tito - At least 2 more wins, will likely get it after 1 cuz of popularity
Rashad - At least 1 more win
Houston - a long ways off
Bisping - a long ways off
Soku - At least 2 wins to sell him

I'm assuming wins are against top 10 opponents

Vitor with motivation would be awesome. I think him and his sister were really close and when he lost her it had a huge impact on him mentally. If he has gotten over that he could really make some noise in the UFC.
