Miyamoto keynotes Digital Contents Expo

AceBandage said:
The Digital Contents Expo isn't about digital distribution.
It's about the emerging uses of digital technology (video games, graphic engines, virtual reality) in arts, science, education, ect.
Yep. And this is about the Asiagraph opening keynote, which is a "joint event of science, art and exhibition where Asian researchers and creators active on the front line globally gather together, present most advanced technology and exhibit their works in order to further develop the Asian diverse and unique cultures and the Asian excellent and unique digital content created through combination of art and technology." - http://www.asiagraph.jp/english/

WELCOME TO THE CARNIVAL OF STUPID!

It was from some completely unheard of website.

wiiquiz-1.gif

Zelda Wii has a 200 hour single player game, with 50 more hours of sidequest's, online multiplayer horseback racing and sword duels, graphics that will melt your face, and it finally explains the timeline.

Metroid:Other M, Metroid Prime 4, Metroid Dread, Metroid 5, Super Metroid HD Remix. Lots of Metroid.

New Smash Bros. with every game character in existence!

Oh and Nintendo Buys Sega and all their future games shift to the Wii and DS.

What a horrible name for a website. And what a horribly written article. Unfortunate that POS story is probably generating a ton of traffic for them.

Oh and even more negative points for, in another post, linking to the high-res Epic Mickey wallpaper made by a GAFfer in the hype thread without crediting him for his work.

Nintendo always drops a little bit of something when they have these keynotes, so I think it's fair to say we'll get some sort of bone. It'll probably be presented as a future development in Miyamoto's career, so I doubt it'll be more than one thing.

I did so. Iceatcs, didn't I mention him everytime?

Edit: Ahh, found it, and I edited it to credit him, so sorry!

As for the rumor, I'm not the only one who's seen it there so don't make it like I'm the only one who's seen it and mentioned it, and I've always took it with a grain of salt (as I do with all rumors), I never said it was true, just that it could be.

I was talking about the website, dude. But nice job fixing that post of yours!

No prob, I'm always willing to fix an error, I don't take credit for anyone else's work.

In your post, you were referring to the rumor on the site in the top sentence, and the wallpaper in the second one below it. :P

lol, I don't care if no credit after, I'm not lawsuit :P

I only do it because I want it on my wallpaper and I thought I like to share. No worries!

Yeah, my post was just commenting on the website itself. Basically the fact that it is a no-name blog with a stupid name and poor writing means that the rumor was very likely posted just to drive traffic. That is just a sad. The fact that they are posting other people's hard work without crediting them is also poor blogging etiquette. As the runner of a popular blog myself, I ALWAYS try to give credit where it is due.

Also I wasn't implying that you posting it to the thread meant you thought it was true or anything.

Oh I see now! Right here:

Yeah, they didn't even LINK it jesus. :/

In all honesty, I'm surprised the site's not banned.

I really hope Nintendo does something before next years E3. I don't think I can bear anymore of this ridiculousness.

So is this going to be the burning remains of the hype train that crashed through a wall (Nintendo Retailer Conference) and is now headed for either glory (lol megatons) or off a cliff?

In all honesty, I want to believe, but keeping a level head and remembering that it's Nintendo hasn't failed me yet so far.

Actually, I was talking about the keynote itself. I've always liked Miyamoto's keynotes.

Same here. They are always either very enlightening or absolutely hilarious (in a good way).

It's always kind of disheartening that people expect megatons from things like this instead of, you know, listening to the world's current (and former) most successful developer just talking about whatever's on his mind.

This generally doesn't work this way in any other industry. When Scorsese speaks, people aren't clamoring for him to announce The Departed 2.

It's obvious people are just screaming and yelling megatons because they want to mess with the situation a little. No one freaking expects these seriously. Loosen up a bit.

Y'know, your tag fits too well into this.

You guys can't even wait a single day before starting this up again?!

I posted it because Miyamoto rarely has a boring keynote. Especially when he's talking about his attitudes towards gaming. I know I always find them really interesting, as it helps get inside his head and how he look at game design, the industry, and just gaming in general.

But, you know, Zelda Wii trailer confirmed and all that too.

Isn't Spirit Tracks supposed to come out this year? We haven't seen a damn thing for it since E3.

I would wager Shiggs will give us something to chew over but not a lot. Maybe a segment of NSMB Wii and the Super Guide, a little talk of the next Zelda. Not much though.

Hmmmm, I'm kind of surprised (and not) by all the speculating going on here. Given the date, it seems to me that Miyamoto will probably show off NSMB Wii and little else. I guess we'll see, though...

Damn, would this be like the first time we've heard Miyamoto say ANYTHING since E3? Haven't heard him speak in a while.

The new console Zelda trailer would of course be awesome to show, but Nintendo's usually refrained from doing that for places other than E3. Course, I was completely and utterly wrong about SMG2 showing up so early...

In any case, if he does show a trailer, wonder if he would remember to remind Aonuma this time. :lol

Totally agreed. It's always nice to at least just hear famous developers' thoughts on things.

Bumperoony because it's only a couple of days away.

Anybody think we'll get any juice? Anyone think IGN learning of a new game from Nintendo plus Charles Martinet recording new voice work recently could hint at an announcement of sorts?

Well, at the risk of starting off the NeoGAF Unwarranted Hype Train, the usually-reliable neo2046 is saying that its rumoured that Famitsu has been held back a day this week as Nintendo have a big announcement to make, so...

You really expect Miyamoto to show a new Zelda trailer on this keynote?! :lol :lol

not a chance in hell. It will get saved for E3, or at earliest GDC.
