Maybe in English. But, in japanese, Waluigi is a better pun that Wario.
RUIJI = Luigi
WARUI = Bad (adj.)
WARUIJI = Bad Luigi
It's great!
I forgot about that, that's actually pretty good. My point still stands though about the constant need to spread each character archetype(bad twin for everyone, baby forms for everyone, metallic versions for everyone, etc) concept thin when they could be creating something original.
That's not how this works. Wario's name and Waluigi's name are portmanteaus of Mario's name and Luigi's name, respectively, with the Japanese adjective "warui" meaning "bad". Their names are literally "badmario" and "badluigi".
Edit: beaten
What you just said doesn't negate my point, that the entire concept itself of a bad mario and bad luigi are less creative than something more unique.
I still like Wario and Waluigi as characters, but it's obvious within the context of this thread topic that giving Wario and Waluigi girlfriends would further dillute the cast because it's a cast filled with clones.
