AlphaSnake said:It's definitely a much, much, much better game that MLB 2K7. Visually, I'm actually very surprised, because the game looks very nice. When you're batting or pitching, the field doesn't look like one disgustingly washed out texture (like in MLB 2K7) - it looks great. Player models even look pretty good, the animation is better than 2K7, especially the transitions between each animation aren't anywhere near as jerky.
Played through 8 innings, and not a single homerun, this is on the rookie setting too. If I'd been playing MLB 2K7, I'd have had 5 HRs by now. Instantly feels far more balanced and tight than 2K7.

Jim said:So played this a bit over the weekend. It's extremely tight, and leagues better than 2K7.
Random quicky observations:
- A perfect 60fps, though visuals are overall a bit too clean and sterile. Needs a little more grit.
- Stadiums are gorgeous (but lacking some key animations), but someone needs to find a way to texture grass/turf to make it looks like grass/turf.
- Awesome animation and transitions as expected
- The eyes are horrendously scary. Everyone looks like O_O
- Great 5.1 DD, tons of ambient sounds and commentary seems top notch and seamless
- 720p native, will upscale to 1080i and 1080p
- Requires 2GB install
- As with the excellent PS2 and PSP versions, there's an insane amount of stuff to mess around with.
I started up 2K7 afterwards and it made my eyes bleed.

I'm really tempted to pick this one up.
Jim said:The initial load when beginning a game is a bit long, ~15 second maybe? But after that, nothing much.

LJ11 said:They talked about the game for a couple of minutes on the latest EGM Podcast. Animations looked good, game plays just as good as the PS2 version, but they were disappointed with the stadiums and graphics. Brain Inithar sounded really down on the graphics. We need more impressions, I can't wait any longer for this game. I need something to fill in the next two days.

Mrbob said:Brian's comments on baseball games are a little annoying. He disses MLB 07 PS3 for not looking as good as MLB2K7, but doesn't care it plays 100000000000 times better. MLB2k7 is a framey 30FPS mess with the worst fielding camera in the history of baseball games. Oh hey it looks awesome in stills though.
