It looks so delicious. As a Twins fan do you guys have any idea how horrible it was to play a Franchise inside that Metrodome. So excited for this year...

My only issue... March 3rd... This and Battlefield are out. Wife might leave me.

It probably won't be "fixed" until the next generation of consoles. Instancing that many animations (in conjunction with the action on the field) swallows up CPU cycles, never mind the hit on the ram. As it stands I think they provide one of the better illusions of a live crowd, as long as you're not staring directly at anyone. ;)
Ah, too bad. What they should do is have their movements be much more subtle instead of a guy getting up and shifting their seat, etc. But ah well, still looks awesome.

I loved this series in the past but last year's completely turned me off. Hitting was just....impossible. And it wasn't just me - many of my buddies had the same complaint.

I played The Show '08 for hundreds of hours with my buddies. About 30 games in last year, I gave up in frustration.

I'll be buying Day One again, but God help me if the hitting is just as tough.

It's one thing to be challenging, it's another to be punishing for punishing's sake.

Help me out, Sonly. Please. I WANT TO LOVE THE SHOW AGAIN.

I love the hitting in the show, baseball is not a easy game, much more realistic and thats what makes the show great, if they make it easier I will be very disappointed.

I agree with both of you, however I can't hit on 09 on rookie very well. Rookie should be easy, it could be that I play with the Royals but even when I get a good hit, it always seems to line drive to someone.

Not to be a dick, but this means they're doing it right. :D Perhaps for the first time in the genre's history (High Heat had great stats but automated mechanics, vice versa for MVP- jmo)

I usually average around 280 both online and on HoF level. Every now and then I'll get in a zone but for the most part I'm above average now matter how many hours I pour into the damn thing. Thats awesome. Having to work the count, lay off the black, protect on 0-2, cut the plate in half, remember sequences, sit on speed or location.. basically concentrate like a motherfucker. Most VG baseball doesn't ask for that kind of stuff. SD doesn't give a fuck and I love it. Closest thing to a GT for baseball.

So, any chance the PSP version will have umpires this year?

I'm guessing "no". They pretty much have been mailing in the PSP version the last few years, little more than roster updates.

09 was a major reason I caved and got a PS3 last year, the new game looks even more like the real thing, they just have to fix how the pitch gets released from the pitcher's hand next year, its one of the only things that still stands out like a sore thumb

Tried MLB08 again some days ago. I have yet to win a single game, as I suck at hitting the ball as well.

Not to mention, I'm not acquainted to any of the players in the game, so they're all just a bunch of random names to me. Unlike in football (actual football, not rugby-with-armor), where I know a lot of players.

Why can't they just make a thorough tutorial mode in the game? It's not a sport everyone in the entire world knows anything about, it's a very American thing. Of course, that's probably why it only releases in the US as well.

hah! This game is a massive bitch to hit off of. That was my major complaint in the "10' Changes" thread, I really hope there's a happy medium between 2k10 and mlb10's hitting ease.

I got a question. I don't follow baseball (but enjoy baseball games) and care not for updated rosters, so taking roster accuracy out of the equation is The Show '09 better than The Show '08? And what is being added to '10 from previous editions?

We are going to have to have like 10 different GAF online leagues... this will be insane! I think we'll need a few commisioners
more trustworthy than Zep
.

Frank... be my guest to run your own league.

I'm not even running it this year, you sniveling dipshit.
It's been passed to someone else.

How reliable is that site? Just looking at it now, and for taking payment it doesn't ask for all the details normally asked from the card.

Absolutely reliable, bought lots of stuff and never had any problems with them.

Btw: Is this game fun for people that don't know much about baseball?

All these sports games got way too complicated for my taste (you have to press like 20 buttons simultaniously and study the manual for two weeks..)

NHL was better two years ago, since the online was so absurdly busted in The Show, but your sentiment is correct.

I've purchased every iteration of MLB since it came to the PS3, but not this year unless they fix their broken online mode.

Holy freaking crap indeed !

I'm not a baseball-fan, but this looks SO awesome that I might even buy it.

Those pics are awesome.

Did I say you were running it, slapnuts? I just said the commish must be someone who won't stick a broken bottle in your neck!

Every year I say, "There's no way they can improve on MLB 0X."

And every year I AM WRONG.

Looks crazy hawt. Really looking forward to owning fools with the new Mariners :D

High five!

Already pre-ordered the game with release date delivery.

Pure eye candy. Now if only they could incorporate those kind of graphics into games where you get to shoot people in the face and I'd be there day one!
