The mobile browser market is pretty terrible, since it's encouraging bad web design. I use Firefox on my phone for various reasons (sync being a big part of it), and it disturbs me just how often mobile web pages are either really crappy or just straight broken on it. Even Google's search engine is pretty terrible, since I can't even get to the search tools. All these people are designing purely for Webkit/Blink, and ignoring any other rendering engine. The situation is very reminiscent of IE6.
Apple's ridiculous iOS policies certainly aren't helping. They've given Safari a monopoly on their operating system. Even if you think you're using Chrome or some other browser on iOS, you're actually just using an alternate skin for Safari.
