Modern Warfare 3 - Gameplay Trailer HD

This is true if you're just comparing MW2 and BO.

and graphics imho.
No one will agree with this.

Maybe with IW gone, this game will actually be good. MW2 proved that even IW could be an awful developer.

really?

to my knowledge this is the first game Sledgehammer has ever made. Yet you somehow are the authority on how the game will be already.

everyone better start bowing down to your majesty sooner or we'll start to look like fools

I don't really understand the hate towards the unrealistic approach. An entirely realistic scenario would be boring as fuck for a MW game.
Disagree. That's basically what MOH was, and I enjoyed its single player considerably more and for precisely that reason.

Probably a good thing they showed this now. When I first watched it I thought it looked kind of alright.

Then I remembered Gears and Uncharted 3 are coming out in the same time slot.

lol

Beautiful hopefully they spent their time optimising the engine and it runs closer to 60 fps all the time. Can't wait to play the most ridiculous and yet awesome set pieces in videogames. They probably won't go back to the pacing of COD 4 but it's WW3 so who cares? Going to launch with shitloads of content, spec ops > straight co-op campaign, loads of maps and a crazy campaign. Hopefully the multiplayer is more balanced than MW2 or have a 'classic' playlist at launch. Can't wait for the inevitable MP blowout after E3.

COD will reign supreme in modern infantry combat until Respawn show off their next game.

SP and the COD shooting never really did it for me. Guns all feel like BB guns. That said, this was a well done SP trailer--give credit where it's due.

But my god, that engine is getting pretty ugly.

Seriously, les enfants terribles are now directly imitating the unwashed masses that play the games. First, they parodied them. Then, they become them. Now they sleep with their m0th3rs.

The Homefront trailers looked pretty hot to me.
Homefront clearly didn't have MW's production values, regardless of the budget rumors. MW3's trailer comes off as the VG equivalent of a Bruckheimer film.

Blops has the Dive to prone which works great. That alone makes it best imo, but could say more if needed.

The anamorphic flares did a lot to improve the plain looks to make it look actually decent in my eyes.

Looks alright, although I'm really interested in seeing actual gameplay, and MP stuff. I know we haven't seen much, but it looks like it may be a slight step below Black Ops graphically. There were certain parts of that game that looked far better than the rest of the series, but I didn't see anything in this trailer that matches them.

I could agree with SP but certainly not MP. Weapons and killstreaks were the best and most balanced of the series thus far but it has several issues and not to mention... it just lacks "fun". Not to mention that most levels are red+brown shit smeared with framedrops apparently.

"We haven't gone into detail on the engine yet but we've moved beyond the [Modern Warfare 2] engine and added a lot of cool stuff for [Modern Warfare 3]," writes Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling on Twitter.

*Hoping for the best. Fingers crossed

I like how MW3 is going international. The whole US vs Russia vs Middle East thing made no sense to me. If America was going to be invaded then WTF are the other countries doing? Just sitting back and watching the show?

There is clearly some graphical improvements done to the engine, but nothing close to the levels of Battlefield 3. For some reason IW absolutely HATES having water in their games that look remotely decent. It is always so still and plain. no water physics at all.

While I haven't seen how BF3's water looks yet I hope it will be somewhere around the levels of Crysis 2.

This will probably be a buy only because I can then finish up the whole MW trilogy. However, BF3 will be my true love. This E3 is going to be excellent. The console wars are starting back up and two of the largest FPS franchises will be going neck and neck.

Apparently? You haven't played the game?

All I care is co-op campaign.

Which CoD games never got right. Closest thing we got was the special ops in MW2 and I really enjoyed them. We'll see.

Eh, looks like the same ride I'll be in for with previous CoD games. Which isn't bad. However MP will make or break my purchase of the game.

The visuals aren't that bad if they're still targeting 60fps, and I don't think we've seen BF3 running on a console yet.

Although I wouldn't be shocked if BF3 still looked and ran better than MW3 on PCs.

^ tbh I don't think you could even do anything of that scale on consoles with better graphics, while still trying to maintain 60fps. Not even Crysis 2 has anything that crazy going on.

Mor3 than lik3ly a script3d sc3n3.

This gam3 won't look as good as the bs vid3o Activision pos3d in the trail3r.

So it's gonna be another succession of scripted events where you don't do a lot?

Seriously, after what I've seen from that trailer, the next COD has to take place in space. It's the next step.
