Modern Warfare 3 - Previews and Screens

Speaking of which, they're taking a while to release some multiplayer footage. For MW2, how close to release did they show off the MP trailer?

MW2 had MP footage released in early August. The reason they're waiting an extra month is that they want new MW3 footage to coincide with their new CoD XP event.

I see. Thanks.

So what are the chances this being better than Black Ops and MW2 Campaign? Black Ops campaign was so-so, kinda boring at many spots.
I think it will be better than Black Ops for sure. Black Ops was one of the worst COD campaigns.

Eh, sounds good to me. I'm about ready for another COD romp. Nonsensical (and ever shorter) as they are, the Modern Warfare campaigns are a blast to play through, particularly that very first time you sit down with it.

THIS.

COD4's campaign STILL blows me away.

yeah thats how i felt with modern warfare but mw2 was like " ok cool just strolling down the road oh shit there on the roof...oh shit there on roof alot....oh fuck me my god why is everyone on the roof!?", then just a bit longer you go to brazil "wow nice setting i like it, oh hey look there on the roof... wow...shit there on the roof everywhere from every fucking angle know to man...my god wtf is going on! why is all of brazil here shooting at me!? fuck why?" sorry guys but it really annoyed me

Yeah, COD4 could have almost passed as a script for a decent action movie (not that the genre sets a very high bar). MW2 got downright silly but I can almost admire their decision to focus on ridiculous hyperactive set pieces.

MW has gone full retard. They're simply hung up on trying to one-up their previous entries by including one crazy set piece that sets the game apart. At this point, I won't be fazed even if the entire world is flattened in MW3.

Eh, as long as they do it in a fun way I'm cool with that. I want to be entertained, not lectured on the geopolitical complexities of warfare. For now the brand has found its niche as an interactive sensory facefuck.

And its wierd, people said Black Ops campaign is better than MW2? No way, MW2 was much more entertaining and fun compared to Black Ops which seemed cut up and derivative/imitative of previous MWs.

The bubble will burst in its own time. I stopped buying CoD after the fourth instalment (which was tremendous fun). They are going for bigger and bigger set pieces in every game. Personally, I felt (and this is little off topic) that other games (namely KZ3) were infected by this ideology and changed their formula to suit what they thought the market needed. There comes a point when it doesn't work any more, either due to it becoming supremely stupid and bloated or because it lost its originality.

No games can match the overall combination of realism, gameplay, graphics and sound of the COD series. It's simply unmatched.

They are dark and I see myself getting sniped by someone who just did a 360 just prior to firing the shot from the hip... TeH nightmare

Because blowing up nukes in space and running around like a superhero is realistic.

Seriously though what? Also, objectively speaking, I'm pretty sure the newer Battlefield entries have the most realistic graphics and sound design of any military shooter. I think BC2 is worth playing for just the sound actually. It's that good.

So a Wii version was just confirmed today.

Genius move by Activision, the wii doesn't have any interesting games coming besides Kirby, Legend of Zelda and Just Dance 3 (yeah i just put JD3 with Kirby and Zelda).

Anyway, this guarantees another few million of copies sold.

What about a WiiU version?

.. oh wait, they will be releasing another one anyway next year. Presumably that will be the definitive version to get. Will be interesting to see how they use the dual interface thingy.

I guess that they are going to leave out the ability to download maps on the Wii version, and later release a REFLEX/RELOADED/GOTY/ version with extra maps and stuff for the Wii-U.

This post is is dripping with sarcasm.

...Right?

Outside of gameplay, and maybe 60FPS on the console side of things, you can't be serious.

How the landscape has changed...

The interest in this game seems lower than Call of Duty 4, much less Modern Warfare 2.

The official youtube trailer has 9 million views already O_O IIRC, MW2 trailer had maybe 4 million views a week or so after its reveal.

Nice to see the landscape is changing so much.

I don't think I've commented on MW3 yet. Here are my only two issues with it and the series as a whole-with a minimal third one:
1- make the net connection better. It is getting better by each release- I think- but seriously. The biggest game in the world doesn't have dedicated servers? Make better online net speed matching then. it's not like they can't afford it.

2- pay attention to cheats. Seriously, this serious is like an open SDK cheat program.

3- minimal, personal tick: update your tech (especially graphics). I enjoy a game more when it looks better.
I really hope BF3 threatens them so they'll act up. You can only push the Quake engine for so long.

So any word of that Lava Level yet? Also did they confirm that the russians have created a 200 m high dinosaur mutant with laser eyes?

At this point, that seems to be the logical evolution of the Modern Warfare Series.

You have not played ARMA II have you?

Did you just hit the word "realism" and stop reading? "No time to finish, I have to tell these Call of Duty losers that ARMA II is the most realistic!"?

I thought Modern Warfare 1 and 2 looked very good on PC. (although of course definately not "unmatched")

Especially considering the requirements were pretty low. I thought it was pretty baffling how Black Ops both looked and ran worse.

I'd go for some loto numbers

oh and the Hardened edition looks awesome, thinking of getting this one for the PS3, if there won't be a PC version like for MW2
