It's pretty much fixed. I think they released the SDK recently as well, and Tripwire likes releasing free content additions.

Just saw RukusProvider's thing that was quoted. In RO the community self-imposes all of the things that he said BF3 players should do. BF3 players don't actually do those things from my experience in the beta. :lol

It's awkward to get called out for talking about stuff not strategy related when I'm not paying attention, but I actually kind of like it because I know I often get frustrated when other people do it. And if anyone is racist or homophobic, they'll get called out right away and booted if there is an admin present.

Definitely an acquired taste though, so buyer beware! And the singleplayer is worthless.

Pretty much. People on the fence take a pretty small risk to try out BF3. If BF3 is actually good, this should work in BF's favor.

While these are all good points, this is why I only play competitive games with friends. I don't want to only use chat for strategy. It takes all the fun out of playing a video game. If people want to fuck around and be idiots on chat, I'm down with it (as long as they're my friends). Also, because we're friends, we tend to play well together ANYWAY, so there's no reason to restrict chat to strategic talk only.

x2...me and my friends keep in touch via VoIP rather than phones..we talk strategy, but you will hear us talking jobs, sports, women etc at the same time.

As long as no one is rapping while playing, I consider it a victory.

The most interesting thing for me with MW3 and BF3 is to see how the final products shape up. Has DICE really-really fixed everything from Beta, and how will they continue to support the game and it's balance after launch? How will MW3 end up period, after the disasters that hit IW, and that there were 2(iirc) other devs called in to support what's left of IW. Will it not be a complete fuckshop that Blops was (on the PS3)?

They're usually much better at hiding the engine's flaws. It was just a poorly made trailer in every way.

BF3's trailer might have the opposite problem, in that some people are going to think the whole thing was CG rather than in engine.

The problem is you're basing this purely off of the presumably shitty SP campaign, which I don't think anyone was expecting much out of, unfortunately. Most people aren't buying BF3 for the SP. At this point, it looks like the BF3 campaign trailer may be better than the actual campaign.
