Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate to be released on February 13 + Limited edition bundle

How does trading in a system work according to the banner? Do you have to trade in your system ahead of time, thus not being be able to do a system transfer? Or can you pre-order the system in store, then trade in your system at the time of release?

The 4GB SD card in your 2DS you can just back up to a PC. When you do the system transfer from the 2DS to the New 3DS XL, the pre-install of the game (I think the license to re-download it will be on your account instead) will stay on the New 3DS XL, and your account from your 2DS will be also. Then just copy and paste the content from your 4GB to your 32GB microSDHC.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.

You can never ever combine SD-cards on 3DS.
After a regular system transfer you just redownload MH4U from the eShop.

Seriously? Doesn't that credit card have a 27% APR?

Here's what you need to do:

- Pre-Order the LE 3DSXL

- Cancel that card and avoid it like the plague

- Use the money you save not paying fees and buy GCU from Best Buy

- Save 20% on all games

You're welcome.

If you don't have any other credit cards, that's the worst thing you could do. Better to use it and pay it off each month to build credit, then get a new card at a lower rate. Cancelling a card just hurts you.

I agree the rate is ridiculous, but at least it gives a path to good credit for people, if they're responsible and only purchase things they can pay off.

So Jealous of the EU bros

They got the Regular New 3DS and the Demo early

Wtf is going on with the NA market that warranted all this shit

Spent the last hour or so on the demo. Seems to be a solid 60fps, even in 3D. So it runs better than MH3U even which is pretty incredible.

Cool. But not too surprising considering that MH3U was a port. So having a version of the game made with the 3DS in mind made a huge improvement. And with the n3DS the performance will be even better!

Had a fun game with three others against him.

We obliterated him. :P

Now fight him solo. You can't comment on the difficulty of a monster if you've only fought it with a full group. Everything is easy with 4 hunters.

Iwata must hate us for some reason. I wonder why the hell Capcom agreed to this BS.

And again:
Now I just need to figure out how to juggle to get all the stuff on my bigger SD card and then working with the new XL. I've got over 16 GB worth of stuff on a 64 Micro SD, so I obviously can't just dump it all to the tiny 4 GB that comes with the new one. So... hm. Trying to think as to how to do this without an inbetween card. It won't just let me transfer the game to my SD card and then just swap the card over, right? It has to be somehow paired with the system or something, doesn't it?

Just want to work out how this'll be done. Surely someone has experience with this, yeah? Just want to know how to get all my data safely onto the new 3DS XL along with the preinstalled download.

I didn't mention difficulty.

Outline the major differences between this and MH3U? I can read some bullet points but hands on impressions are always best. Point out what you don't like!

It's very, very good.

This is NOT 60fps though, seriously.

Some of the colours are very, very weird, and I won't lie, it doesn't feel as smooth to me as MH3U did.

The gameplay is rock solid, it's fun as hell, and the online play works spectacularly.

The 3D isn't amazing either.

Did the Jaggi hunt just now, feels good. I'm almost tempted to buy the new 3DS because the screen of my old XL model really feels cramped after months of playing Unite on Vita, but hell, no money :/

Can't wait for february !

I'm not talking about credit cards in general, just that one in particular. There are much better cards out there that give you much better rewards including cash back and free airline miles.

the screen isn't any bigger on the new 3dsxl is it?

Its a generation leap

3rd Gen Monster Hunter to 4th Gen

New Mechanics and upgrades abound

And We are basically getting the definitive edition just like 3 Ultimate

Oh, yeah. I'm still worried that the difficulty still won't scale appropriately with more people. I carted once, but came through by myself. Still a complete bastard, especially when. angry. Bloody cool and fun, though!

They're just Rajangs.
Well la-di-dah!

That's a thing? Oh god.

But I mean, even that would be quite doable if you were prepared. I played a status-focused LBG with a GAF team and we obliterated every g-rank multi monster arena quest in MH3U. If you keep the other monster asleep or smokebombed it's no problem.
I'm partly kidding. I'm just reminiscing about some epic battles in my MHFU days. Good times!

But yes, it was a thing in MHFU at least!

Dual SSJ Rajang Arena even?

Your first monster hunter experience?
Not speaking for shiggy but I'm wondering how I'll cope with the low res. I'm currently playing MH3U on the Wii U and was hoping(still am) for a similar port for 4. Hopefully I'll get a code later today whenever NA sends them out.

Also while I'm thinking of it: what's the large monster total like in this? Like, feel free to count subspecies and similar types separately, but how many are in this? Don't want to spoil the specifics but I'd like to know. Is it bigger than 3U? Because that was already massive!

Well, everyone has their own thoughts, but personally I have no issue with playing MH on the 3ds. I have MH3U on 3ds and WiiU, and have had no problem going back and forth. The framerate was actually more solid on the 3ds version.......

That being said I'm a pc gamer with a gtx 970 sli machine and I play at 2560x1600, so I'm definitely a graphics whore..... I still love playing MH on the 3ds. It's truly ALL about the gameplay with monster hunter.

I think they charge you when they ship.

I haven't played MH since MH:FU (PSP). How much do I have to re learn?

Not too much

The basics are there. If anything the game will be noticably more convenient in a lot of ways compared to Unite

The BIG change is the veritcal gameplay. You fast climb, have jumping attacks, can attack out of being launched, can hang from canopys and jump between vines and trees etc...

Its gonna be nuts

Lots of new weapons and other combat changes too. You have a soft lock on, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, and Bug Staff to learn.

Its a HUGE jump man

Since the game comes pre-installed with the system, if I buy a physical copy later on, will my save data from the digital version work with the physical one?

Just tried the demo. Not sure how others can cope with the low-res visuals, invisible walls and sluggish controls.

You have to stick with it. The game does not give a good first impression, the controls are not pick up and play and the game has just tons and tons of systems to learn about.

This'll be exciting. I can see myself pouring tons of hours into this game. Especially learning the new weapons.

UK GAFer here. Demo downloading as I type this :). I am looking for three good homes for these extra demo download codes. Anyone want one? I have no idea if they will only work if you are in the same territory or not as I've been busy so perhaps someone could clarify that for me please?

EDIT - all gone! Thanks for playing! :)

So even if I go into the store and get it sent to the store, I need to pay for the shipping too...

Curious, for those that have ordered online from Gamestop and used their free shipping, how fast is their free shipping for you?

I would really love getting one of your codes :) BTW: EU

All you have to do when fighting rajang is always walk/run and dodge to the left (his right). I'm not sure why people think he's hard.

I can boil lots of monsters down to that kind of description but that doesn't mean they're easy. I got very good at Final Invitation solo in MHFU, and of course I knew that trick, but its speed and damage made the fight intense every time. Golden Rajang is still easily the hardest mainline MH monster IMO, only thing I can think of that gives me as much trouble is Alatreon. Really looking forward to fighting it again.

I mean sure if you're a wimp you can bow cheese Rajang and bomb Alatreon but every monster has its weakness.

The game is a lot different but still kind of the same. It will probably feel much easier to you. Much less 'Plesioth hitbox the size of a planet' bullshit.

A lot of weapons have been totally revamped and everything got new moves. Depending on what weapon(s) you use, the game might feel very different - LS and hunting horns especially.

Okay, question. Are the only benefits of buying this bundle vs a regular new 3ds just what the system looks like and $10 dollars off the costs of buying a new 3ds and the game separately?

Shamelessly begging :(

So im playing the demo know. How do you jump and ride the monsters. A cutscene did it for me, but then the tutorial said I could do it for myself.

Tried every button and nothing.
