Monster Hunter Tri G (3DS) Update Thread

I believe an issue of Official Nintendo Magazine gave it a tentative release date of Fall 2012.
Oooh ok. So is that the only place? Cause unless Capcom releases a Statement I'll take it as a rumor for now.

The article also said something to the effect of the pad being made just for this game -- which is what leads me to think the (alleged!) long wait would be for a presentation of the pad at E3 for western audiences.

The slide pad addon will be avaiable here with the release of revelation in January.

The Classic Controller Pro was made just for MH3 on Wii as well.

Nice that you are able to put the slide pad in too.

Has this been talked about?

Capcom expects Monster Hunter 3G for 3DS to sell 1.2 million units through the fiscal year ending in March Obviously for Japan only. Sounds doable. I imagine it would be pretty bad if it failed to hit that mark given how portable MHs usually sell.

That is a reasonable, even a bit conservative, prediction.

That's what I figured but it makes sense if Capcom is a bit cautious about how much of the Monster Hunter audience is gonna make the jump to a new platform for an expansion of Tri and any other 3ds issues that might be involved.

It does seem somewhat conservative, given it's how many copies they intend to ship.

They also don't mention RE: Revelations at all in their second half forecasts. Either because it ships near the end of their fiscal year, or because they are taking a conservative view on 3DS software sales.

It sounds high to me considering currently that's 50% of the 3DS userbase, even though it should grow a ton by then...

Still, new platform, half-new game (for people who got either Tri or Portable 3rd) and the first PSP game did that LTD...

Some new info:

Doboruberuku subspecies with an Axe shaped tail

Limiter Release Parts for both Light and Heavy bowguns of rare 6 and above
- Lightbow: X + A load all bullets at one go, omit the need to reload when you change to other bullet types. Lost the use of rapid-fire (Increases the loadable amount of rapid-fire supported ammo)
- Heavybow: Attack up, Dragon S can be used, No crouch shot (Increases the loadable amount of crouch shot supported ammo)

3 new masks, Whetstone, Dung and ウチケシMask (no idea what it is)

The Japanese are delighted with the Dung Mask. Go Home Yeah!

Shit. I'm going to have to import a system to play this if it doesn't make it out of Japan. Looks real good. Based off that latest Iwata Q&A I can't tell if we'll see it overseas or not.

Famitsu info:
- Jinouga subspecies
- Plesioth subspecies
- You can save up to 3 set of touch panel customization
- Next issue of Famitsu will be featuring the 'Hunter Search' function (!)

Hunter Search sounds like a feature that will scan your local area maybe within streetpass range to find if anyone else has TriG or is playing it. That way you can play together or something.

Edit: Don't know if the 3ds is actually capable of that but I assume it is.

I recently bought a 3DS partially because of the possibility of Capcom bringing this and MH4 to North America. Here's hoping they deliver!
(Please, Capcom? I'll even buy the Frankenstick!)

Yeah, that's exactly the kind of thing StreetPass does for most games.

Sounds pretty worthless in the US :(

Maybe, just maybe Hunter Search is actually a feature that searches your friend's list to see if any of them are playing TriG then lets you jump into their game via wifi with the new "join game" feature that was just added to the 3ds!

New Famitsu Info:
- Street pass to exchange Guild Card
- Hunter Search is a feature that will scan your local area for Hunters as per what artwalknoon mentioned above

oh god, I need that game
makes me sad to think I still have to wait for it almost a year

side note: Is there really no "official 3DS thread" Neogaf thread?
i searched but couldn't find any :(

So stoked. I've had 5,000 yen sitting on my computer desk for over a month now. Waiting for this.

And yeah, I picked up today's Famitsu. Good stuff in there. There will be more again next week, including the "official" unveiling of Deviljho subspecies.
