Monster Hunter Tri G confirmed for 3DS (Famitsu)

Since we're all too busy laughing at The Monster in the other thread, here's the deets on MHTriG on 3DS:

The MH3 water elements that were absent from PSP's Monster Hunster Portable 3rd, also an expanded version of MH3, are in MHP3G. The game is said to have a slightly different control feel for its water segments, while still retaining the overall feel of 3's water play.

One new control feature will make use of the system's lower touch screen. By touching, you'll be able to make your character automatically turn to face larger beasts.

Other features mentioned in Famitsu include local wireless play and a new main cover monster named Blakidios (I'm not sure if this is a totally new monster of it it's from a past title -- the name doesn't come up in the Monster Hunter Wiki).

A release is planned for the end of the year, Famitsu reports. The game will be playable at Tokyo Game Show next week.

Via Andriasang.

Cool that water areas are still in. I actually liked those.

So... Yeah.

YEAHHHHHHHHHH.

With Mario Kart 7 and this out by the end of the year, the 3DS is gonna rock every Japanese gamer's world.

:lol @ the other monster.

Are they not implementing online for this? Seems weird that local wi-fi would be mentioned over online play.

...wait, an end of year release?

Right when the Vita is supposed to drop?

What?

WHAT?
Yeah Nintendo is really taking this fall and Vitas launch serious. An Insane selection of quality Nintendo titles and Monster Hunter. 3DS is gonna have an insane winter

I really hope this comes to the U.S but it probably wont.
It will guaranteed. 3DS doesnt have the piracy issue that PSP has

This Year ? Damm thats fast. ..
Day 1.

I'm getting this and MHP3HD, just because I can. Oh, and if I could trade over my Tri account here, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance Capcom. (It isn't gonna happen)

It is odd that they wouldn't mention online play, seeing as Capcom's output for the 3DS comprise two/thirds of the available online library, but it seems anything is possible these past couple of days.

I'll repeat what I said in the other thread:

At least Nintendo got MH3G on 3DS, that might actually be the reason for this add on. Will be interesting to see how PSV will do now that MHP is not exclusive to it anymore.

All Monster Hunter network play requires subscription fee, even it was a 5-yr old port from ps2 on Wii...

Iwata is doing everything (getting MHTriG,DQX,Right Stick for 3DS, doing 3DS relaunch) to keep himself away from that ejection seat I guess.

Holy shit.

Even for all the talk about the monster (which is indeed goddamn retarded and I am eating crow for dinner tonight), if Nintendo can pull this winter off the Vita is going to be in really, really big trouble.

Of course, this risk also applies for Nintendo, so if they can't then the 3DS is fucked.

I want this game but not like this. The other monster could be bad enough to negate it.

Where handheld MH games are concerned online isn't of interest in Japan.

Or hell, with any mulitplayer handheld game for that matter.

Vita is getting a MH they can buy on PSN or play on PSP or PS3. No where near the same

Vita's getting a port of a port that's reportedly terrible.

3DS is getting the next iteration of the main franchise.

This is huge.

Nintendo has been shelling out some serious dough for third party title recently. At least for Japan anyway.

I don't mind the add-on, so this is all cool.

Vita's getting an old MH, the 3rd version of P3. 3DS getting 3G really is a big deal, this is the "next" release.

lol it's like nobody cares that MH is confirmed in light of the second analog news.
I'm not confident Capcom can deliver a compelling MH game after seeing the game design in MHP3 and the sloppy port that was MHP3HD.

Yeah, well, there's other countries with people that like Monster Hunter too, you know!

:D

FUCK YEAH MONSTER HUNTER 3DS!!!

:\

That add-on. Good that there will be a second stick, but that attachment looks big. I guess I'll upgrade to a new 3DS in the future after all. (Only after I can transfer my Ambassador games.)

The slide pad cradle was part of the game's announcement.

Yes, but anyone would have to admit that there has been nothing but schadenfraude when it comes to 3DS news. There are all too many people delighting in anything thats less than glowing news lately.

So...does it not have online play? Or could we expect another marketing push for NA/EU with online added?
Maybe. Maybe they just wanted to get the game out by the year's end in Japan and ended up skipping the online mode.

Though one has to assume Vita will get a more substantial MH game eventually.

The question is whether MH3G is successful enough that, by the time this new game comes around, the bulk of the audience already owns a 3DS.
