Moral Dilema: Trade Mario Galaxy for SSBB?

GAF, I seek guidance.

A buddy pre-ordered Super Smash Bros. Brawl and paid the equivalent of 20 bucks from the total price of the game -around 65 USD-. He got EXTREMELY lucky and managed to get one of the few copies of SSBB during the brief broken street date here in Mexico. Now that he already has a copy of the game, the preordered one is just sitting there behind the counter of the store waiting to be picked up next Sunday.

A couple of weeks ago, He asked my about Mario Galaxy and if it was any good. I told him it was an amazing game, a must play for the Wii, but that I didn't connect that much with the game. I told him that I've already finished Mario Galaxy and now is just sitting there along my game library. My buddy told me if I was willing to sell him my used copy. I said I wold think about it and we let that pending.

Now my friend is willing to give me his SSBB preordered copy voucher, plus another 30 bucks in cash for my copy of Mario Galaxy. Hey, it's SSBB, day 1, for 15 bucks!

GAF, do I get green light with this trade? Is it OK to trade one of the greatest games for the Wii for another of the greatest game for Wii?

No, because that SMG sale won't go towards NPD.

YOU DON'T WANT MIYAMOTO TO NOT BE ABLE TO EAT, DO YOU?!!

How the fuck do you..even dare to mention this !!!
You should be ashamed of yourself!!!
It's Super Fucking Mario Galaxy!!!! Best game ever!!!

Yeah, trade it..
It's an amazing game..and even if you didn't liked it that much and still managed to beat it, then do it..
In the worst case scenario you're selling it to a friend..so if you get a sudden rush to play just ask him to lend it to you for a few days...

I was expecting all the responses in this thread being like this... but it seems I was on the right track thinking it was a good deal.

Mario Galaxy is such an amazing game, but after playing a good chunk of it and getting to the "end" -I didn't collect all the stars-, I feel I already got my money's worth and it's time for someone else to enjoy the game. And like Vish said, If I want the game, I can buy it back again.

I'll kiss Galaxy goodbye tonight by playing for a few hours.

What the hell? "Should I trade one game for another game" is no moral question.

If this was like "should I trade my second child for SSBB", this would've been a more fun thread.

For the equivalent of 50 bucks I'd trade away most of the games I actually enjoy, never mind if I "didn't connect that much" with them.

It's a tough question, because while you may not play it again for a long, long time, aren't you still glad that you own it? Don't you like the idea that, even if the gaming industry goes to hell, you still have a reminder of better days?

Yes. You've beat it, it's fine to trade it out for another game. If you feel like playing it again later, rebuy it, or borrow it from your friend. This is not a moral dilemma, unless you're an obsessive collector type like I am. You're not an obsessive collector are you? Cause that can be expensive.

do it

it's not like you'll be playing mario galaxy every day for the rest of your life maybe

and you can always re-buy SMG in 3 years or whatever for like $20.

The answer would still be yes.

I mean, it's not like it's your first born, amirite?

I hear the money printing factories are running out of money to keep the presses rolling.

I traded in RE: UC and Lego Star Wars to completely pay off Brawl

I'll probably pick up Umbrella Chronicles again when it's like $5
