more japanese love for 360 ? maybe from konami e namco

Guys I think some of you have just underestimated Microsoft and (Nintnedo for that matter) from the beginning. There were posts clearly stating that Microsoft didn’t have a chance to take Sony’s crown and years past there were similar statements for Nintendo and Sega. Some have just thought there was “no way possible”. Well guys here we are again, it’s possible. When you have a lead that Microsoft has in user base and you have a competitor like Nintendo firing like it is, it’s very hard to catch up and chances are you might not. So let’s see how the game play’s out!
 
Man my computer dies on me for 2 days and I miss all this stuff. Honestly, MGS4 would be nice if it made it to the 360, but that's one genre where the 360 is not light on. If I had a choice I'd take a new Silent Hill over MGS4 as a 360 game.

Namco = Soul Calibur please + true next gen Ridge Racer.
 
Since the start of Video Games no company has ever dominated three generations in a row. Time has come to pass for the downfall of Sony, as for told by generations past. It is a repeating pattern with only two outcomes; the crash of the industry or the rise of a new titan.
 
Sony should focus on building a strong portfolio of first party titles, which they are actually doing. Third party exclusives are truly a thing of the past especially from Namco and Konami which seem to be struggling big time. I mean what was the last game Konami made some big clams on??

For the sake of the developers and their survival I hope the big AAA budget games are multiplatform

I agree with you.
The problem is that these blogs and sites in the interest of hits and viewers instead paint it as an atrocity, and that it is all doom and gloom.
Then the pavlovian assclowns on message boards dive in just for the sake of diving in, some just because they are bored and others just plain ignorant flaws with the whole sony am doomed amirite snort snort massive damage snort snort bullshit.
When a title goes from one system to the PS3 it gets a little blurb in a corner.
When it goes multiplatform it is front page.
Assassins Creed, Fatal Inertia and whatnot were known by most not to be exclusives.
The only two real hits were DQ9, which skipped all 3 next gen systems and now VF5.
Did DQ9 hurt? yep.
Deadly? Nope.
VF5, did is shock me? Yep
Does it sting? Yep
Deadly? Nope
360 is doing alot of things right, but so is the PS3.

Why in the sake of baby Jesus are you describing losing exclusives in terms of some sort of pain it causes you as a gamer? ****ing fanboys.

Read the "PS3 announce PR" for Assassin's Creed, the word exclusive was never used -- if it's not expressly called an Exclusive in the PR don't bet on it being one. And I'm sure there are loop holes around that.

I was under the impression 360 was underperforming for the last year? I mean, all summer all I heard around here was 'it is doing the same as the first Xbox' or 'PS2 is still beating it'. Why has the tide changed? becauce NPD shows that Sony botched this holiday and microsoft pushed 500k 360's in November? That isn't THAT good. After all, 360 is still BOMBING in japan.


I can understand 360 software doing great....but where is all of this coming from?
 
X360 isn't performing very well.

But PS3 is performing abysmally.

Of course, it's due to the complete lack of units available to sell, but in the eyes of devs, it only matters that they're not selling.

i can't think of any 3rd party ip that is playstation exclusive (maybe ace combat?)

but sure, lets ignore the horrible 360 sales and act like even if every ps3 game came out on 360 it would place better than 3rd in the console war :lol

In the eyes of devs it only matters how many games they can sell on a system. XBox 360 right now has a larger userbase and a great ratio games:consoles, while PS3 has a tiny userbase that don't buy games.

ps2 had like 13 games/console while xbox had 8 games/console

360 is trailing behind the first xbox in both sales and attach ratio

maybe you should let the ps3 launch before making stupid claims?

Did we not come to the conclusion, even prior to PS3's launch, that both it and 360 would probably share a lot more third party games? Well, this is what's happening! It was to be expected.

Yes, and as more units become available throughout 2007, you can bet that Japanese devs will be paying close attention so they know where to put their games.
 
I would think that software sells and turns profits. Doesn't the 360 have the highest attach rate for games to consoles sold? THey're doing really well and other devs want to take advantage of that as well.

Xbox 1 software sales: 9097000

"software is doing great"

that's all 3rd parties care about. sales of software are through the roof on 360. that = $$ for them.

I know 360 has a high tie-ratio, but my understanding is that Xbox 1 always had an excellent one as well. Your numbers there tell an entirely different story.

I'm sorry to say I prefer RPG's. Of course MGS4 would be a huge boost for the system.

I thought that only applied to the VF5 thread (since VF5 has nothing to do with MGS4). But yeah, I can see people getting a bit nervous talking about MGS4 given the 40-ish bannings in that thread.

But Amirox said MGS4 already so I'm (hopefully) safe :)

No, it isn't.

It's missing A LOT of data, for one. That site has 69 million pieces of software total for Xbox 1, putting its tie ratio somewhere around 5 for the life of the system. Xbox's true tie-ratio is nearly double that, if I recall correctly. That site is worthless for this comparison.

Plus, Halo had to have sold like 5 million copies the first year anyway. Something else had to sell at least some copies. Like Bloodwake.

eh, that may be true. Oh well, I just know that the 360 sales data is correct. That was my main point. Sales are thru the roof with it.

This is a good thing to remember... really outside DQ9, PS3 has yet to actually lose any of it's major JP franchises (FFXIII, MGS4, VF5, Sonic, T6, RR7, DMC4, MH3, RE5, etc, etc). They may be losing exclusivity more and more, but that's just the direction the market's headed... it's not really comparable to N64 (which lost virtually everything but Goemon, Castlevania, ISS, Bomberman, Harvest Moon, Furai no Shiren and Ogre Battle).
 
Anyways, I think it can be agreed on that the 360 has a LOT of Japanese support as it is.


SO MANY high profile RPG's are coming out that this is starting to remind me of the PS2....
