What rom and emulator combination allow you to play Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Wavenet or accurate higher native resolution Mortal Kombat 4 (ARC)? This is a holy grail for MK enthusiasts.

Honestly for me this kollection is worth $60 it's an MK museum. I've owned every version throughout the years except 32X and I'm excited to finally play it. I still remember over 20 years ago tracking down an SNES from a local flea market just for MK2 & 3 and killer instinct , even today the games in this kollection are expensive when purchased separately.

I guess I'm being too hyperbolic. The early 3D games did capture the same vibe even though they were different beasts gameplay wise.

For me the series peaked with MK9 and it's been a downward slide since. I'm not a fan of the latest trilogy.

Narrative might have peaked with MK9 but the gameplay changes in X and XI are pretty cool even if some of the roster choices were questionable. I have yet to converse with someone that thinks MK1 is good though.

Game is 44 euro's digital and they add a shit ton of extra modes and options inc 3 hour video and other stuff.

The capcom collections are 30 ish all of them are a great deal imo. Inc extra options etc.

But sure those arcade archive ports on switch 2 that go 16,99 for a single rom with no added stuff?
That shit is lame.

That will truly show how much of the wokey monetized nonsense that was all in MK1 was WB alone driving it

If you're talking about the one i think you are from years back, it was full of audio glitches and other issues. It was serviceable at best.

This new one out this week has the full arcade versions of MK1, MK2, MK3, UMK3 and for the first time ever, an arcade version of MK4. They also added a 4x rendering option to the MK4 settings where it cleans up the image considerably and makes it super sharp. I'm hoping this setting was also included for the 1st 3 arcade versions also. These also have settings to instantly enable (if you want to) all the hidden characters and features. There are also many of the home versions of all of these games too, plus the collection has MK Mythologies Sub Zero, and MK Special Forces. The 4 arcade MK's allow online fighting as well. For launch so far, its not crossplay, only PSN vs PSN, etc....In addition to the games themselves, it has a full on history/documentary of the MK series, tons of new interviews with the creators, etc....

I'm super excited for this, as the MK arcade titles were a HUGE part of me growing up and those amazing arcade years!

Yeah. I think that is why they made another release. The last one had some bugs. This is a more comprehensive release.

I have them on gog. Haven't played them in a while. I found the original games to be a bit janky because they're the DOS versions and you deal with DOSBox, which doesn't always play nice with my controllers. Trilogy on PC can be the best OG version if you get everything set up correctly. On PC I tend to play MUGENs when I want the old school MK feeling.

I'm kind of looking forward to this collection for the simplicity of just turning it on and playing.

I have the collection of three. It is just files running in DOSbox emulator. The key binding is bad and requires document editing. The graphics and audio have artifacts and old version of MK3 is lame. Better to just play in MAME and use some enhancements. I bought it for about a dollar so I do not feel too bad about it. Hell I bought a game for a quarter in the same sale and had some fun with it.
