Inferno adds 3 demon summon specials.
Hellfire adds, Fireball, Hellfire, and Flame Aura.
Ninjutsu adds, sword normal strings. Don't know if it adds any specials.

oh maybe it's the ninjutsu one i played then - it wasnt good at all. Defn didnt see any demon summons at all. ill have a look tonight as Scorp used to be one of my favourites.

One of the reasons he was so strong in Injustice was because the switch from press button to block to hold back to block made his teleport much more difficult to deal with.
 
I don't get why everyone and their mother would play Scorpion when Sub-Zero clearly is the superior ninja. Seriously though the new characters are all looking top notch fun, dunno why people would opt for the old guys instead, personally can't wait to try the new guys out!

sub is very good. the only negative is his freeze has a decent startup time to launch. His ice clone and slides are very quick though. His AOE attack is pretty decent as well.

Edit: I'm usually awful/medicore at fighting games but with a little practice and dedication I should be able to become somewhat good at this. That's the goal at least >>.

Excellent! Raiden's, Jax's, Jacqui's, and Erron Black's are kinda pedestrian...

Favorites would have to go to Cassie, Quan Chi, Kitana, Kenshi, Ferra/Torr, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, and Ermac.

Mileena's second one is just straight real-life murder without the Mortal Kombat over-the-topness. It was unsettling.

that's the one where the victim is trying to move away with their entrails falling out and their spine disconnected? i thought that was a bit much.

Also, dont like seeing bodies twitch after a fatality has been done for them.
 
I've only seen a few, but I thought the one where Takeda scewers the opponent with his razorwhip through their mouth and then having them fall over with bubbles popping out of the hole was too much >>.

Well I was kind of expecting myself not to freak out over video game gore >>. This is probably a first. Not condeming it or anything but there are definetly some fatalities I find hard to watch through. There are some great ones as well though and it's all pretty subjective.

Personally I find the brutalities to be more interesting in this game.

because sub zero is boring and scorpion is a yellow ghost skeleton?

He is the only character with only 3 specials as well. they have made him pretty weak imo - his third move is the leg trip which, if blocked, has a horrible stun lock on you.

ive played through 2 of this iterations and didnt find him good at all. There are much better/faster characters in the game.

I'm sure everyone appreciates the information you're providing so please don't take offense to this, but you don't seem like someone with enough competitive knowledge to determine which characters are good/bad after only a few days of playing and minimal competition to spar against.

Character normals are just as important (many times more important) than their special moves. The fact that Scorpion only has three in two of his variants doesn't mean anything if his normals are good. Same goes with the speed of Sub-Zero's ice ball. If you can combo into it the speed is irrelevant.
 
Not really into fighting games but I plan on YouTubing the storyline, which to me kinda seems like the combination of every badass B-movie VHS cover from the 80's made into a big-budget movie.

That's true. I never said I was good. Everything I have said is purely my opinion.

I've given what information I have thought was relevant when people have asked but I am no means an expert or competitive player in any fighting game.
 
To be fair, I was just making a joke anyway. Scorpion comes across like the poster boy of the franchise and despite him being nerfed to hell in Injustice he was still a common pick online.

Ill really laugh if you find scorpion to be pretty average in the full game.

Of my group here of 3 who have the game, most of us were pretty scorpion/sub zero pro - we all agree that he isnt that great and there are other much better characters in the game.

Since you havent played the game but still think it's good to call me out - im assuming you will stick to your assumption regardless of how good / bad he actually is.

My first comment was kind tongue in cheek though, because of the Sub-Zero vs Scorpion rivalry :P.
With most of the old rooster being reworked and everyone having 3 styles of combat I could see myself enjoying both the ninjas.
