Mortal Kombat X - Official Launch Trailer

With this, nothing but 1v1 online, and lack of information about the netcode, I can almost guarantee it will be trash.

They didn't even make a proper 5v5.

There are other modes then 1v1.
There are rooms/lobbys, king of the hill, online training. 3v3, 5v5.

Don't have much hope for the netcode being any good though.

You can probably walk in on Tuesday and get a copy with a code even if you didn't pre-order.

I've bought multiple games brand new with extra pre-order stuff even a week after they were released.

If you don't want to risk it, I think you can still pre-order until Monday(?).

All this talk about bad netcode makes me nervous because of NRS' shitty record with it.

Since I pre ordered the game from Dell does that mean no Goro code or can I still get the code from somewhere? I ordered it for the XBOX ONE

It shows selective reading, some people here post the netcode is good, their comments are completely skipped over, someone says its bad the comment is multi quoted.

But at the same time I understand why, and also worried

Maximilian is a pretty big streamer/youtuber in the fighting game world. We can trust his word, but in the end nobody will really know for sure until launch.

Yeah thats a good point im hoping at worst case it just feels like that to him after playing KI and its actually better, or he got unlucky it matches.... im desperate here lol

Well ya, it's a 1v1 game, there isn't even an offline team mode.
Which is a shame, MKtrilogy style team mode would have been a fun replacement for lame ass tag.
Yeah im no professional programmer but wondered why they didn't do this, couldn't imagine it would of being too hard to work in, just multiply the timer by the players or some shit

According to Boon when Angry Joe interviewed him, apparently enough people did not use tag in MK9 to justify spending the resources to make that mode in MKX. Which sucks. Hard.

I wonder if the Kombat Pass will be available by itself Tuesday. I didn't even look for a bundle. I'd think it would. I also think you could walk into Walmart and get a copy like it was any other game. I don't think the Goro unlock will go away for a month or more, but that's just my opinion.

I wonder if the second shipment would take it out. I gladly don't work in retail anymore.

There have been one or two times I've walked into Walmart and they were sold out. I've just always planned a head way before hand.

Yeah but im not asking for a tag in/outs or assists moves, just if the players gets knocked the next player jumps in continues till all the other team players are dead

Pretty sure that requires extra processing power unless you want to deal with loading times every time someone gets ko'd

It needs the official theme.

Lol, I remember being a kid listening to this while doing Liu Kang kicks off the couch and doing roundhouse kicks in the living room and all that good stuff. I also did a front flip off the couch, but that didn't end too well. Landed straight on my back and got the wind completely knocked out of me. This song was 100% responsible for making me lose my mind. I turned into a straight invincible badass when this song started coming out of the speakers. Good times!

Dang I'm ready for this game!

Wait, wut? There is no tagging in the while game? Not even 2v2/2v1 in the campaign? The entire campaign is 1v1 after MK9 on the 360 had varying encounter numbers? That sounds extremely underwhelming, definitely a downgrade.

LOL

Not really considering it was the least played mode.
It doesn't matter just as a mode, just being in campaign made it more enjoyable. Campaign obviously had a high completion rate. Now everything is a 1v1 encounter, that makes things a bit more boring. Not to mention that we're losing features.

Those 1 v 2s were the worst thing ever

Good riddens.

Pretty sure that Shao Kahn aside those 1 on 2 battles were the most hated parts of story mode

So we're complaining about NRS taking out statistically bad modes that nobody played just because that would be boring to you? Ok.

Wait people are complaining that there aren't 1v2 encounters in the campaign mode? uuuuuhhhhhhh
It was just me

Everyone played the campaign, where it was prominently featured. It wasn't well received, but it was obviously played a lot consisting most people completed the campaign. Saying that they removed it because it wasn't played much is a weak excuse. If anything, they could rebalance fights like that. But, you have to agree that playing 1v1 battles for the campaign doesn't sound as appealing as a mix of encounters. There's certainly potential.

Guess I'm remembering incorrectly, I thought MK9's campaign was fairly easy (and no, I didn't play on easy settings) other than Shao Kahn, so I didn't have a problem with those parts. But, obviously it's different for everyone. I don't remember having a specifically good time with those parts, but I don't remember having a bad one either.

The 1v2s were annoying as hell.

Well I am gona sorely miss the tag mode.. Me and my three pals loved playing MK9 tag mode in the same room. Used to be hell alot of fun. Hopefully they can patch it in future somehow.

His character was completely different in the first game.

Also not really sure how he could have done much differently in MK9 with the limited information he had.

I wonder if it would have gone worse the first time if he realized what the message meant from the very beginning.
What if realizes from the very beginning that "He must win" meant Shao Kahn, but then just lets him win the tournament. Shao Kahn would be able to invade and merge Earthrealm without any opposition and the elder gods wouldn't do anything since he would have not broken any rules.

But see,
Even if Shao Kahn won the tournament, he wouldn't have been able to merge it anyway because of Sindels protection. Shao Kahn wouldn't be able to walk nor merge the realm despite winning the tournament. And even if he could, the Elder Gods would still step in because that's only when they could intervene, after the events of Mortal Kombat, and after Shao Kahn started the merge of both realms. It's kinda a big 'FU' to Raiden because they didn't explain to him clearly. In a nutshell, if the Gods simply told Raiden 'LET HIM WIN DAMMIT THEN WE CAN INTERVENE', then he'd let him win.

I hated those 1v2 battles so much I quit playing the SP after the first one.

But they could have brought just back Sindel after winning the tournament and remove the seal, there's nothing preventing them from doing that, and the elder gods wouldn't interfere at all if Shao Kahn won the tournament, they only interfere when the rules are broken.

I made a video of a fun combo I found with Takeda. 19-hit, 36% damage. 3 bars.
