Mortal Kombat X - Official Launch Trailer

If the new characters weren't shit? Sure.

Rain, Noob, Stryker are 3 I would maybe be interested in...but really all the characters I want to play with are already in the base game, so, yeah I only care about DLC costumes for them and maybe stuff like new stages and better net code? ;)

how would you know if they are shit? Most of them haven't even been in a previous game?

I will never understand the hardcore FGC idea of only playing one character. I want to play fucking everyone

I know I am gonna get hate for this but some 3d era characters had potential. Like frost, havik, mavado, ashrah. They are not as good as classic characters but with some work could have been good.

This. Your "old mains" aren't even the same in MKX. Completely different system of movement given the run and stamina setup and that breakers deplete your stamina. Plus wakeups have differences as well as the fact that all the cast have radically different variations.

Play the game you bought instead of trying to play some other game that isn't it when you turn MKX on. If you stop wanting titles to become something else and try to experience them for what they are you have a lot more fun and find a lot of good in them. I'm already seeing a lot of Kung Jin and Takeda supporters from early copy players. Try to stop focusing on who isn't in it and focus on what is in it and how it works. Just because another face could have been on the roster doesn't really mean much considering its a completely different meta and all the cast have major changes. They could have appeared...but they would NOT have been the exact experience you remembered because everything has changes.

Havik is the Big Bad in the comics and Frost is in MkX so they have not been forgotten and might end up as dlc or in future games ]

I don't see why you'd get hate for this. This seems like a perfectly reasonable opinion to have, and I agree with it.

Personally, I was really hoping for Mavado. I liked the way he swung around on his Kabal swords, and I'm curious as to how they'd make him work in a 2D game.

Yeah, I don't get why people get so upset when their old main doesn't make it into a fighting game sequel. It's a new game, try new characters! My old main was Stryker, but I'm not bothered at all by the fact that he isn't in this game because there are so many cool new characters to try out.

Well, to be fair, it's not like this game is lacking in the cop-like character department :P

I am hoping and im sure the chances are slim to none....

but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me I can use my MK9 tournament edition fight pad with the PS4 version.......

I'm enjoying the story walkthroughs of this game on the 'Tube, (YouTube) about as good as it is gonna get until the movie...(if ever) comes out...

I don't think that even the in-game characters have their own stages, let alone the DLC ones. Actually, each character having their own stage hasn't been a thing for a long time. Only fighting game that somewhat has that now is Skullgirls.

Most of the characters in Guilty Gear Xrd had their own stage, as well. I'd also argue that SF4 did too, at least when it first came out, though the cast has outpaced the stages in terms of numbers by now.

If it's a PS3 pad you can. They licensed Lab Zero's driver tech to use PS3 controls in PS4.

It's funny how people seem to forget malicious DLC practices when it's a popular game.

Can't wait to buy the complete game in one year.

PS3 pads were confirmed to work on PS4

I didn't forget but i am still getting it day 1.

Shit as in they visually look shitty to me. Not a single one is interesting to me. I don't care what they play like or how top tier or not they become.

I have 0 interest in Termor or playing a movie franchise character. :/

I don't play one character always. I tend to mess with the entire cast before settling on a main. Like I said, MKX base game has plenty I want to mess with(Ermac, Scorp, Sub, Cassie C, Reptile, and Liu) and if they had added Noob or Rain or Stryker I'd be more interested at this current stage in DLC characters.

In the base game for example I have zero interest in Quan Chi or Sonya Blade. I'll probably mess with them in training to know what their options are and have a feel for what is and isn't safe so I can appropriately deal with it online.

Shit here is just an opinion. They are shitty choices in IMO for DLC. :/ Not a fact as I'm sure plenty want to play as Predator or Jason.

I'm not pleased at all about the DLC, but I got this game and MK9 on the cheap, so it was easier for me to justify a day one purchase.

You really think classic MK characters like Tremor, Predator, and Jason Voorhees weren't left out on purpose to get us to pay more?

I do really feel if Ed Boon and his crew says "These characters are not complete," then they are not complete.

The truth is always let out anyway once the DLC hits. If it's just a few KB---it's an unlock key, and they'll get blown up by people online for it. Too many detectives out there, GAF sleuth crew included, who will call out developers for lies if they are caught.

Tremor a classic character? LOL

I think they were chosen BECAUSE they're appealing otherwise they wouldn't bother putting them in the game at all. But they haven't been developed yet, so I really don't see your point. Would you prefer the game not come out for another few months so they can finish Tremor?

Malicious how? The DLC characters haven't yet been developed.

The preorder Goro bonus is pretty disgusting. Especially in Europe, where we can only get it by preordering in certain retailers.

I kind of agree on the rest of the DLC, although personally I can never defend DLC which is announced well before release (whether finished or unfinished).

Pretty sure it's been konfirmed that Goro kode is in the box, so first run should have it.

Killer Instinct does a stage & theme for each character.

I think they were/are pretty much ready, yes. Hell they could give these characters out for free, but I understand they need money. I'm just ignoring the DLC, though, and still pre-ordered the game day one, because:

1. I don't care about any of the DLC characters;
2. Knowing myself, Kitana is the only character I'll play/train 99% of the time anyway; so why be pissed about 4 characters I won't use?
3. Waiting for a complete edition would mean I''ll miss the most active online and be too far behind with getting good with the mechanics - sucks to come late into a fighting game only to be pushed around all the time. It sucks, man.

I do believe that all of the DLC characters are mostly complete by now and possibly in the disc already in some form, just not 100%. Hell Tanya is already there in the game, fightable, she just doesn't have variations yet.

Killer Instinct, every character has their own stage.

This will be found through data mining. I don't think they are ready at all though, other than the models, maybe.

Correct.

Buying new, everyone gets him no matter where you preorder.

I hope that's true, but here in my country Amazon used to advertise the preorder bonus and they removed that quite some time ago, which makes me think they aren't getting the deal after all.

Regardless, even if every day one buyer gets Goro, I'm still annoyed that years down the road, like with any other digital good, we will be unable to play with Goro once the servers get shut down. I understand and accept this inconvenience with post-release DLC, but not with content that is cut from the game at release and turned into a preorder incentive. It's the kind of shit that makes me want to boycott games.

How down the road is this, exactly? What fighting games have this affected as of 2015? Other than UMvC3 as that was for licensing issues.

Well, many years after most people have forgotten the game, admittedly. But as someone who occasionally likes to go back to old games, the idea of missing out on content in the far future simply because a bunch of greedy assholes decided to cut it from the game in order to turn it into a shitty preorder incentive is quite annoying.

So I am looking at the faction videos they are release so far, I think the idea is cool but I have a hard time picturing many people joining Black Dragon. In fact, I am assuming most people are going Lin Kuei with a small scattering in the other factions.
