In the previous timeline, Scorpion was actually the chosen champion of the Eldergods who would set right to everything if he won Mortal Kombat.

But then the reset button.

From what I can tell, Kung Lao escapes from Quan Chi's grasp and becomes a good guy again.

I don't think the same thing will hold for Liu, even if he escapes.

I think Raiden burned any possible bridges with Liu Kang for the remainder of this timeline.

Raiden made some pretty dumb decisions after he hit the reset button. It's bad enough that

True, design-wise they were all pretty shit aside from Kabal but some of them were a lot of fun to play as.
I wouldn't miss Sindel or Sheeva but the rest I'd like to see back in some form.
