Most aesthetically appealing console of all time?

Sega Neptune is up there.

there was also this japanese launch saturn which is gorgeous...

surprised to see a lot of people like the wii hardware. I've always hated it. it looks uneven. this weird sunken angle. I want to straighten it out, like a picture frame that's crooked. It grates on me.

What appeals to me personally is the clean/minimalist approach.

Just as a quick little anecdote, a few months ago I pulled out all my active consoles to kind of clean everything up, figure out the spaghetti and get a bit more organized.

So I had pulled everything out, and I had my wii u, my PS4, my XB1, and my PS3 all on my bed, and I got to sorta just looked at the hardware, the consoles themselves, and really compare them.

- The Wii U really is sexy. It looks like a compact little sportscar next to the others, which are comparatively mammoth.

- Despite being a Sony guy this gen and really liking Sony and PS4 a lot, I do not like the PS4 console asthetic. I don't like that skewed angle. I prefer straight lines.

- Despite having my opinion of MS taken down a few pegs since XB1 and somewhat regretting buying the console, I actually LIKE the box. It's a big, simple square, and it looks pretty cool.

The Sega Wondermega (specifically Sega, not the Victor model) is, in my eyes, the best looking console of all time. It's such a sleek looking unit with two green LEDs accentuating the disc tray when the unit powered up. I'd love to own one some day, but units in really nice condition run anywhere from £600-1000.

Oh my Lord. Did the JVC Wondermega have serious overheating issues? I ask because I remember a clerk burning his hand on one and the store had to unplug it.

The Slim PS2 impresses me the most.

That white PS4 is really, really nice looking though.

That's gorgeous.
They should of used this sleek approachable aesthetic design as a base for the Saturn.
:P

Cube is the worst. Sorry. I think the design hurt its appeal.

My vote is the Sega Saturn. Slim PS2 is pretty good too.

You're taste is pretty much the exact opposite of mine.

Probably the Gameboy SP. I was going to say PSP, but it looks too much like a phone.

For home consoles... PS1 still looks great. OG Xbox has that cheese factor with the giant green X.
I still like the 3DS even though its design has caused so much confusion.
That teal 3DS is one of the ugliest consoles I've ever owned because the paint chips like crazy.

Don't like the Wii as a console but always thought it looked real nice, same with Gamecube.

PS2/PS3 were my favorite consoles but thought they both looked hideous.

I'm going to go with the redesigned "VCR" 360 or the Wii U.

Anything with bulbous organic curves or colors other than black just looks odd in most modern entertainment centers. A lot of consoles look nice in photo shoots but big colorful chunks of plastic have always looked silly to me in actual practice.

Wii U, Slim PS2, Gameboy Advance SP, PS Vita, and Gamecube are all very visually appealing to the eye in my opinion.

Indigo GameCube is my personal favorite, but I think the PS4 is the "best" design ever.

Side note: I was very pleasantly surprised with the Xbone. I remember reading that it was ugly as hell. But in all honesty I think it looks pretty damn good IRL. Same goes for the PS4

Anyways I've always considered the 360 slim to be one of the better looking consoles released. That thing has angles in all the right places

The original PS2 was already posted of course, and this doesn't count since it's a dev-kit but I like the look of the PlayStation 2 TOOL

No way!? People have different opinions.

Here's an unpopular one. I really like the look of the Xbox One.

Same here. I like consoles that look like they belong in a home entertainment rig. When they're green or purple or weirdly shaped I hide them.

I had what I assume was the US version of that. The X'Eye. Didn't look anything like that though. It also wouldn't play EA games right for some damn reason
