Common misconception. It's actually a late season Simpsons parody of George Lucas' tendency to make alien characters along racially stereotypical lines. So Jar-Jar (Jim-Jam) is a bong smoking Rastafarian who sells their cruiser's rims for some "space-spliff".

I used to know a guy who hated Jar Jar. He said he couldn't watch the star wars prequels at all cause that alien ruined everything. He took star wars waaaay too seriously. I remember when it came out he told me he had ripped up posters etc.

I pay attention to avatars about as much as I pay attention to who's posting, which is almost never. I like GAF as a whole, so if I notice your posts independently, it's probably for the wrong reason. Same for avatars. They all run together as "GAF avatars" until I notice one that pops up a little too frequently, or one that seems to always be next to posts I don't like.

Short version: annoying avatars belong to annoying posters, otherwise I honestly don't notice.
