Most anticipated within 2/3 years in gaming

It has been such a long, long journey.

Just a little longer.

-Pokemon Sun & Moon
-NX
-Yooka-Laylee
-The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
-Retro Studios' next project
-Monolith Soft's next project
-Splatoon 2

Looking forward to Dennaton's (Hotline Miami) next game cause I need some fresh additions to my music playlist

I'll do a top 5 for the sake of keeping the list short. I realize that like 3 of them could be more than 3 years out.

Cyberpunk 2077
Red Dead 3
Death Stranding
Spider-Man
Blizzard's next big project (Diablo 4? Warcraft 4?)

In general, I'm interested to know what direction Nintendo is going in - but more specifically I'd like to see if they'll do anything neato with F-Zero.

Devil May Cry 5

And the fact that it gets no mention by majority of posters, is both heartbreaking and showing of how badly the series has been mismanaged by Capcom.
Has it been mismanaged though?

3 out of the 4 Capcom DMCs were excellent games and Ninja Theory's game, while admittedly divisive, was still a very solid action title by a lot of people.

Like...the series overall has a great reputation. I can't see how it's so 'badly' mismanaged.

Most feel that the series didn't need to be rebooted after DMC4, and it's been pretty quiet since DmC. That's why people say it's been mismanaged. DmC, to me, was okay, but it was pretty bad for multiple runs.

Does that really warrant the description "how badly mismanaged" the series has been though? That's something you could say about the Sonic franchise or something, sure, but I can't understand feeling it's been so bad after *one* game (that again is polaristic depending on who you talk to, it's not all bad),

I want a glorious NX Metroid in that time. If its going to happen, I'd think it'd happen within that time.

But actually happening, or that we have good reason to believe is happening...something among DQXI, the NX in general, and P5.

BotW could be amazing but I've got my doubts about the direction they're going. I'm sure it'll at least be good.

1. Retro's next game
2. God of War
3. EAD Tokyo's Mario NX
4. Resident Evil 7
5. RE2Make

Those would be the big ones...

Half-Life 3

Too add to that I'd say Zelda, Dishonored 2, and hopefully, Darksiders III.

Honestly, I can't think of many. I can only base this on developers who have a strong track record and I enjoy.

Cyberpunk 2077 - CDProjeck is still batting 1000% with me. Each Witcher entry was unique and an amazing experience.

Unreal Tournament - I've been liking what Epic has been doing with the title and interested to see how it proceeds.

Mount and Blade II:Bannerlords - Warband is still one of the most ambitious titles yet. I hope the improve budget doesn't stop them from aiming high.

Zelda Breath of the Wild is my most anticipated. After that, it is the next 3D Mario on NX, Nier Automata, Retro's next game, The Last of Us 2 (very likely coming), Death Stranding & Shenmue III. Dream games are FFXVI with Ito as director, a new Metroid & F-Zero.

-Star Citizen
-Shenmue 3 (and hopefully 1-2 remasters)
-Next Rockstar open world (be that GTA or RDR)
-Star Wars game from Amy Hennig
-FFVII Remake
-Cyberpunk 2077

In the near term:
-Very much looking forward to the CoD: Infinite Warfare campaign, love the setting.
-Mafia 3
-Was not following and didn't give a single fuck about Final Fantasy XV until that 50min video recently, now cautiously optimistic.
-Hoping for an XCOM 2 expansion pack

day 1.

don't even care about pre-order stigmas.

I still think this gif is smoke and mirrors. When the actual game comes out, we'll revisit this gif and wonder what happened to the amazing animated NPC-filled interiors with such fluid animation. I just don't see it happening....although I'm sure the game will be great.

Cyberpunk, FF7 Remake, and Resident Evil 2 remake are my three most wanted. Super curious to see what Destiny 2 turns out to be as well.

For sure.

Zero Escape 3 was the last game I was really pumped for.

If I have to choose something it's FFVII:R. But I'm not super hyped, because I think it has a good chance of being disappointing.

Destiny 2 and whatever Nintendo is brewing in their labs. I'm waiting for the Nintendo stuff like a wide-eyed kid, filled with hopes and dreams. I await Destiny 2 like a strung out crack addict. 😒

The last entry in the original series (the one that we are talking about) was over 8 YEARS ago. It was the highest selling title in the franchise and then... they decided to reboot it.

Now if we are lucky, we might get DMC5 by early 2018. So regardless of how DmC turned out in the end, that decision have resulted in the original series missing the market for an entire decade. Which has in turn resulted
(as you can clearly see right in this thread)
in people mostly forgetting, moving on or not caring for DMC series anymore.

The series that was at its peak commercial (and gameplay) wise, is now just mostly forgotten/an afterthought.

Now tell me, do you consider this to be the status of a "well managed" series?

- Rockstars next project (hoping for Bully 2 but Red Dead 3 will suffice). I've gone off open world games of late, havent played one properly for a few years, but the size of Bully was perfect, with plenty to do, so really want another tighter open world experience from them.

- Resident Evil 2 Remake. My first RE remade for modern day gaming machines. As long as it's still in the style of REmake, I think this could be fantastic.

- Next Super Mario 3D game. They ar eoften the pinancle of my gaming enjoyment, so looking forward to see what Nintendo do next. I thought Super Mario 3D World was sublime

PSVR and Shenmue 3, hopefully with remastered 1-2. Last Gaurdian, Nier: Automata, Hopefully Toukiden 2. FF 15. Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5. Gonna give the whole Destiny experience another chance with Rise of Iron.

- Tales of PS4: the next game (after Berseria) will be the first entry in the series that is eighth gen only. Really interested in seeing how the series copes with this transition.

- Cyberpunk 2077: Witcher 3 sold me on CDPR, and I am quite excited to see what Cyberpunk brings to the table.

- Spiderman PS4: I am kind of interested in how this game will shape up, but I expect Insomniac will make it great fun!

- FFXVI: I am quite fond of FF's new direction with XV, and I have high hopes they will produce a great game in the next installment (as I think XV will be as well).

- Trails of Cold Steel III: I am halfway the first game and man, what a wonderful game! I am already excited for part 2 and, in the future, for part 3.

- Death Stranding: That trailer, though! I have never played a Hideo Kojima game, but this game's trailer hyped me up. I just want to know what it is.

Diamonds for the more distant future:

- Witcher 4: The third game was amazing, and it sold accordingly. I truly believe we will get a fourth witcher game (starring Ciri) and it will be out within the next 5-10 years.

- Elder Scrolls VI: Two games are in the works at Bethesda game studios, neither one is ES6. Yet Todd Howard said hé is already thinking about it, and he has plans that can't be done yet on current hardware. As a massive ES fan, this both saddens and hypes me. Probably in 7-10 years will we have this magnificent new ES game to get lost in. Here's to the future!

Star Citizen. I have no plans to buy this game but I would love to see how this game turns out. AAA budget on an indie game.

Shenmue III. I instantly gave my money for the Kickstarter when it was announced. I cannot wait to see how this one turns out.
