Most beautiful 3DS game?

SolVanderlyn

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
I think it has to be the new Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga remake. I wish I could take screenshots, but alas, I cannot.

The lighting in this game is fucking amazing. You see dust floating in the light, it looks organic despite being sprite work. I've played this game a thousand times before and the remake makes it a joy to look at again.

The graphical style is like what Super Mario RPG was going for years ago. Dream Team and Paper Jam were both beautiful games, but they didn't hold up quite as well on the game front. The remake leaves the game feeling like a proper sequel to SMRPG, complete with remixed theme songs (Super Pipe House. Sunken Ship). I'm enjoying it more than ever, and a good reason for that is the visuals.

The bros animations are extremely charismatic and detailed.

Literally everything about this game is gorgeous, and it's 100% spritework. Sprites aren't dead, folks!

What do you think is the most beautiful 3DS game, and why?

Monster Hunter Stories has been pretty impressive, but there is NPC pop in. Animations and cutscenes rock. Also, the special moves for all the monsters are amazing and charming.

Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter 4U are also beautiful. Monster Hunter has amazing animation and texture work. Majora's Mask is just really polished.

It's Resident Evil Revelations and, disappointingly, it never became close despite the fact the game came out in 2012. No game plagued by aliasing deserves to be in the top spot.

Okay, so, this is a personal and somewhat complex web of nonsense involving a highly unstable individual I was friends and briefly FWBs with, but I can only assume there will be a never-ending clusterfuck on gaf now until the end of time, which inevitably involves you guys and gals on the mod team in some way, so I'm an open book here. The woman in question ended up being completely psychotic and held a grudge against me after a bizarre love triangle situation developed a few years ago between me, her, and another girl (the other girl I ended up in a long-term relationship with shortly thereafter). This NOLA story she apparently just put up on social media is a delusion of a deeply disturbed person who had a total psychological breakdown as a result of me and the other girl getting together, because she (phew, yeah...) became obsessively infatuated with the other girl (she's bi) on sight when the three of us met up. I wanted to just stay friends with the girl making the accusation and made it super super clear ahead of time that me and the other girl were interested in each other romantically and that could play out as such when we met up. Supposedly this was not a problem for her from accusation, but in reality she uhhh wanted me to die painfully after seeing me and the other girl interact. Plus she became infatuated with the other girl simultaneously to this (she's bi), which created the aforementioned bizarre love triangle that ended up causing her to implode and have an apparently very intense and long-lasting grudge. The whole story about how that love triangle thing played out is, frankly, nuts and scary, and involves this girl bringing us to a compound of dangerous scientology spinoff cultists on that same trip, who roofied us, attempted to recruit/scam me and attempted to abduct/rape the girl I ended up dating, in what was a fucking scary situation that resulted in me and the other girl and the rest of my friend circle never speaking to this girl from the accusation again.

Probably Resident Evil Revelations, as others have mentioned.

But I also have a softspot for Dragon Quest XI -- especially the integration of both 2D sprite mode and the full 3D polygon. I hope we'll get the 3DS version of DQ XI (PS4 already confirmed) but I guess we have to wait and see.

Bravely Default/Second
Kid Icarus Uprising
Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance
Mario 3D Land

Nothing has topped it since. It's just silly really.

The Square Enix games that aren't Heroes of Ruin/Theatrhythm are also very good. So DQ XI, Bravely Default/Second, Dragon Quest X, Dragon Quest VIII, Dragon Quest VII, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.

Started playing Monster Hunter Stories. It is charming as fuck. I began with the demo and basically decided I wanted to throw money at the game as soon as I saw little Ratha do the foot stomp taunt thing.

From my time with the demo, MHStories.

Pokemon Sun and Moon are also great.

Bravely Default background art are also beautiful, though not a fan of the character model (the monsters looks great though).

Also loves Fire Emblem Awakening/Fates (CGI?) cutscenes

I'm super impressed by most of Capcom's games on 3DS.

The Pheonix Wright games stand out, very pretty, good consistent & clean style throughout. It's had an amazing transformation into 3D.

Monster Hunter Stories is a recent one that also stands out: the simplistic textures and clean art style work well on the 3DS making for a stunning game. Moreso since it's not new 3ds exclusive.
And finally Resident Evil Revelations. Still looks good, It was perfectly crafted towards the 3DS' strengths.

I'll have to check out Super Star Remake. I don't particually like the M&L RPGs and the 3DS ones I tried really killed any interest I had. Apparently the earlier games were better, so I might pick it up.

Still Resident Evil Revelations. Feels a half generation ahead of nearly everything else on the system. Capcom wizardry.

I do agree that the Superstar Saga remake looks amazing though. Far better than the original IMO.

Well many people have yet to be able to play it but Dragon Quest XI is impressive for a 3DS game. It had to sacrifice 3D effect but it uses a beautiful 3D engine able to display many things at once, runs flawlessly and has some top-notch animations.

Link between Worlds is candy to the eyes and a joy to play due to its superb frame rate.

Easily the best in my opinion.

Honestly, I always thought Star Fox 64 3D looks terrific on the 3DS.
A Link Between Worlds looks and plays smooth as butter.

Sun and Moon also look really good, especially compared to X/Y.
Better than X/Y sure but it's nowhere near the best looking 3DS games. It's still mind-boggling to me how the performance in the Pokémon games is so bad considering the only slightly-above-average graphics.

Street Fighter 4.
It looks pretty decent but the static backgrounds are totally killing it for me.

The models are aces. Most of the animations too. I mean they're great in XY as well but Sun/Moon also makes the backgrounds and most of the people look good on top of that.

Oh, yes the Pokémon and character models look great indeed! Still, when it all comes together though I don't think the Pokémon games look that great compared to many other titles. The world design is a bit bland compared to other RPGs.

Majora's Mask looks fantastic at times
Oh yes, the announcement trailer shows many of the pretty locations and scenes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj6cXziHpjQ

Superstar Saga really looks fantastic. Shame that there is no 3D, would have been really awesome because the lightingand shadows are a sight to behold.

RE Revelations remains the clear most technically impressive thing on the system years later.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon also looks pretty good. In terms of art direction I love Dragon Quest XI and the mainline Ace Attorney games.

Revelations and Luigi's Mansion for me. Animation and use of lighting in LM was pretty amazing. Kid Icarus also deserves some mention. It had some beautiful moments because of all the particle effects.

Second for Monster Hunter Stories
Also Ever Oasis & Kid Icarus

A pre-rendered cg video?
honestly the most impressive thing about the cg video is it has 3D

A pre-rendered cg video?

Hmm, I guess it was poorly worded. I vote for that game because it looks amazing and has a lot charm to it. That particular scene is actually what won me over from the early parts of the demo but of course hardly a representation of the whole game.

Xenoblade Chronicles of course, but that's N3DS-only so it's kinda cheating.

Other than that, DQVIII and MGS3 are the most graphically impressive I have played.

Link between worlds. Some other answers qualify for most graphically impressive for the system, but don't come close to the art design of Zelda.

Pilot Wings Resort pulls me in and makes me feel I am at a Tropical island. The soundtrack and art direction of this game are pure magic to me.

Kid Icarus Uprising teleports me to some of the best fantasy settings a game can bring you to.
