Some good picks in this thread, TalTal heights was one of my faves, as well as Mega Man OSTs. Another well-made soundtrack is found in Gargoyles Quest, I would say some of that game rival Castlevania for that gothic horror chiptune feel. I added a link to one of my favorites from it, but there are lots of other good ones in it.

Not counting GBC these are some of the best imo.

There are no sound enhancements on Game Boy Color, so it should count.

You miiight argue that the better CPU could allow crazier "tricks" with sound processing, but I doubt it would've been used much outside of chip music, which wouldn't happen anyway since the Color's sound output is trash compared to the OG model.

I know, sometimes people make the distinction because it's a separate system. Partially it was to make it easier for me to decide what to post.
