The Keddie murders in cabin 28

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keddie_murders

The Keddie Murders is an unsolved 1981 American quadruple homicide that occurred in Keddie, California. The murders took place in cabin 28, during the late evening of April 11, 1981. The victims were Glenna Sue Sharp, known as Sue (age 36), her son John (age 15), and his friend, Dana Wingate (age 17). At some time after the crime was discovered, Sue's daughter, Tina (age 12), was determined to be missing. At approximately 7:45 AM on the morning of April 12, Sheila Sharp, upon returning from the sleepover next door, discovered the bodies of Sue, John and Dana in the home's living room. All three victims had been bound with medical tape and electrical appliance wire. Over 22 feet of medical tape of varying widths were found on the bodies, while no medical tape was known to be in the house prior to the murders.

The case grew cold; but, in 1984, the cranium portion of a skull was recovered near Camp Eighteen, a distance of roughly 29 miles from Keddie. Months later, after an anonymous caller to the Butte County Sheriff's office claimed the skull was Tina's

STENDEC

The Star Dust, an Avro Lancastrian went missing in Argentina. 50 years later wreckage is found in glacial ice and it appears that the aircrew became disoriented in bad weather and started to descend too early, crashing into a mountain.

The mystery is in the final transmission from the Star Dust:

STENDEC

The last Morse code message sent by Star Dust was "ETA SANTIAGO 17.45 HRS STENDEC".[12] The Chilean Air Force radio operator at the Santiago airport described this transmission as coming in "loud and clear" but very fast; as he did not recognise the last word, he requested clarification and heard "STENDEC" repeated twice in succession before contact with the aircraft was lost.[20][21] This word has not been definitively explained and has given rise to much speculation—including suggestions (made before the wreckage was finally discovered) that the aircraft and those aboard could have been the victims of a UFO encounter.[12]

The staff of the BBC television series Horizon—which presented an episode in 2000 on the Star Dust disappearance—received hundreds of messages from viewers proposing explanations of STENDEC. These included suggestions that the radio operator, possibly suffering from hypoxia, had scrambled the word DESCENT (of which STENDEC is an anagram); that STENDEC may have been the initials of some obscure phrase; or that the airport radio operator had misheard the Morse code transmission despite it reportedly having been repeated multiple times. The Horizon staff concluded that, with the possible exception of some misunderstanding based on Morse code, none of these proposed solutions was plausible.[12] In the absence of new clues, the meaning of STENDEC is likely to remain a mystery.[7][22]

There is also the disappearance of the Beaumont children in South Australia in 1966.

Different rates of freezing water from different starting temperatures e.g. freezing from hot vs cold water. Many have tried and even claimed a ruleset or physical properties only to find we still don't exactly understand why there are differences in the rates.

It's an everyday sort of mystery.

Another for me would be quantum entanglement, shit is crazy AF.

Yet another, similar to above that old story about how two guys had starfish that were from the one original and regenerated but they devised a type of sign language to communicate across islands. The story went one guy saved the other based on the sign language used.

The Voynich manuscript - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voynich_manuscript

Basically an book written around 1404–1438 written in an unknown writing system - containing illustrations of fictional plants.

Probably just someone's doodles - but they seem to have gone to a lot of trouble to make it.

What happened? I love to hear your story.

Villisca was just a night full of uneasiness and weird feelings...I felt the entire night like I was being watched, you know the feeling I'm sure except it was magnified by like 10...esp. in the parlor. Was sitting down there alone while others were upstairs and I just had a feeling come over me like something was in the room with me and staring a hole through me, it fucked with me...I can't lie. Got some weird shit come through on the SB7 and a few EVPs that were frankly hard to make out. Spooky ass place though.

Sallie House on the other hand was the one that made me take a sabbatical...only place I've ever been to that I had to leave and go outside, vomited as soon as I left the door...came in feeling fine though. That house drained the living shit out of me, it's a weird thing to try and explain...just felt exhausted and nauseous and queasy about a couple of hours into it. Had some wild K2 and Mel meter hits, had an Ovilus III set up and had "kill" come up on it, etc. I really think I had something attach itself to me and come home and that's when I was like ok I need a break from this. I mean I was doing it as a hobby with some more serious friends and I was skeptical going in (still am to a degree) but when I started having weird things go on at my house after I left that place it really messed with me....

Geez. I take it everything has calmed down at home?

Yeah I mean it was never crazy or out of hand...just weird and strange things for a time, get an odd feeling here or there but nothing crazy.

Still haven't got back into it yet lol...don't know if I ever will. It's still a real interest to me, I just know that while a lot of it may be bunk to people and there may not be any inherent danger.......I don't know that 100% so why take the risk, you know? Never know what you're dealing with or opening yourself up to.

I have always wondered if traumatic events leave some kind of imprint on space-time.
I was telling my girlfriend this morning, I don't necessarily believe in ghosts that can move shit from here to there, but I do believe if you leave this plain of existence with immense negativity, hatred or in a violent way, you do leave something behind. Cold spots in houses, stuff like land not being habitable anymore. There's something there that isn't a spirit or a ghost but emotion or power still there even when you're gone and it affects people to be in that space of influence.

How about the MH370 story? Or is that too well known?

A pilot who turned the radar off and turned the plane around.

A search based only on pings from the engine with two possible flight paths, one in the northern hemisphere and one in the southern hemisphere.

An entire jetliner goes missing with barely any wreckage.

A $180m search that achieves nothing.

Some political undertones with the pilot being an Anwar supporter (leader of the opposition party to Najib PM of Malaysia).

Don't blame you at all for stopping. Better to be safe than sorry.

Fiona Barnett's account of a VIP Satanic Ritual in 1985 is one of the most chilling stories I've ever heard. Crazy shit. Very believable account too.

Depending on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go, you can also check out Barnett's site for more crazy shit I can't even begin to describe. Link is NSFW!

Oh boy I love these kind of things. Here's my list.

And more that I can't think right now.

Sorry, but I skimmed through most of this topic.
I wish I could remember the name of the story, but it was about a plane that was lost on radar.
It then came back on radar (I think around Florida).
The thing was the pilot could not recognize where they were. The pilot said they were over the airport, but there was nothing but trees and there was no sign of civilization (or something like that).
Help me GAF.

Think it was just few days ago they revealed that the flight simulator on the pilots computer contained a saved similar flight path to what they think he did in real life, but still no explanation on why, the simulated path also ended in nothing.

I remember that! I made a post about it one time. I'll try to find it.

Found it in my old post

Several years ago, a licensed and competent pilot called Carolyn Cascio (or in some accounts Helen Cascio) was ferrying a passenger to Grand Turk, Bahamas, in her Cessna 172 aircraft. The weather was clear, and two airport employees standing near the runway watched as the plane approached the airport. As there was no communication from Carolyn Cascio's plane, the tower tried to contact her, saying, "Cessna aircraft, this is Grand Turk. Please identify yourself."

There was no answer.

The airport manager and his assistant went outside and stared in bewilderment at the Cessna as it circled directly above the airport in a holding pattern. Why would the pilot not answer? Why was she not attempting to land? Again and again the controller tried to make contact: "This is Grand Turk calling the Cessna overhead. Do you read me?"

What happened next was both bizarre and chilling.

Carolyn Cascio had apparently left her microphone keyed in the open position, thus enabling airport control to hear the conversation between the pilot and her passenger. What follows is an extract from that dialogue.

Cascio: "I don't understand this. I must have made a wrong turn. This should be Grand Turk, but there's nothing down there, no airport, no houses."
Passenger: "Right."
Cascio: "It's the right place on the map, and the shape is right and all, but this island looks uninhabited.
"Look, no buildings, no roads, nothing. It has to be Grand Turk, but it's not there.
"It looks like Grand Turk but it just can't be."

At this point, airport control knew that something was seriously wrong. Cascio was flying directly above the airport in clear conditions but apparently could not see it. Desperately they tried to contact her over the radio, but to no avail. After half an hour of circling, the airport picked up Cascio's last, chilling words.

"Is there no way out of this?" she said, before apparently making a decision to fly to another island.

In bewilderment the entire airport staff watched as she banked sharply to the left and flew out across the sea. The aircraft flew into a low-lying cloudbank, but did not come out the other side.

Neither Cascio, her passenger nor the aircraft were ever seen again.

Fucking creepy man

Do any of you have mysteries that remain unsolved for decades but were eventually solved?

Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles

Some guys obsessed with the strange history of the so-called "Toynbee Tiles" that appeared semi-regularly in various East Coast cities decide to make a documentary...and find out far, far more than they expected to.

Holy Fuck, that last recording made my blood freeze. If those recordings are legit...

Yeah, like I said I'm extremely skeptical about EVP in general and most "evidence", but that one is the one EVP I've heard that legit made the hair on my neck stand up. If there's even a .01% chance that's real, it's incredibly fucked up.

I'd say calling it a .01% chance that a recording of random room tone picked up the ghosts or psychic vibrations or whatever the hell of long dead people being murdered is being very generous with the odds. Anything that isn't pareidolia in EVP is just hoax work. The recording is so clearly what they say it is that I have to conclude it's a doctored tape.

Following up on my Villisca Axe Murder link, I've always been interested in paranormal research, though I'm skeptical of any "evidence" that ever comes out. EVPs, especially, mean nothing to me.

That being said, what's captured starting at 5:50 in this video is one of the most chilling things I've ever heard in 20+ years of investigating this shit. It comes with a huge disclaimer, in that if it was in fact somehow a capture of the events that happened in that house, it captures on tape the axe murder of multiple children.

What in the fuck?! The chills wont go away :'(

Oooohh! Good thread. Love this sorta stuff. Will give it a proper read later.

To contribute, DB Cooper (and the spate of copycats crimes it led to) is pretty fascinating

I'll attempt to make you feel better by pointing out that EVP is a giant load of shit, and that tape is audio of actors laid under a crackly room tone recording.
Your post actually did make me feel better lol thanks! Now im freaked out about that plane that circled over airport but couldnt see it and disappeared. Why do I do this to myself?

both the max headroom and dyaltov pass 'incidents' have been explained fairly well in my opnion (the former had a fairly believable story on reddit/tech sites about someone's autistic brother, the latter in numerous books: most likely infrasound frequencies). i like the taman shud case personally.

There's nothing particularly mysterious about the Dyatlov Pass incident. There was some kind of avalanche and either they were caught off guard and went out with no gear or the inevitable hypothermia caused them to paradoxically undress. Their soft tissue being missing is an incredibly common feature of corpses in wild areas, as those are what scavengers eat first.

All the supposedly paranormal/infrasound/Russian cloak & dagger stuff was added to the story much later on. The original report is a straightforward case of a natural disaster tragically killing a group of people.

Yeah that stuff at the end was too much, I had to turn it off. That's horrible.

Fucking creepy man

So I googled more and found this link: http://wikibin.org/articles/carolyn-cascio.html

A theory in the link by conspiracy theorists is that she went through a rift in time and space and went back in time. That was my first thought too, but then I thought, what if it is the whole multiverse thing. Somehow there was some sort of bleed between a different Earth. Interesting stuff to read about for sure.

Cool read - surely that could have been a natural event, though? Like some very particular nova event or black hole event.

I guess 72 seconds is pretty weird. The recent double-black hole event lasted like a fraction of a second.

What's the mystery here?

IIRC the mystery is that it was apparently centuries/millenia ahead of its time

The hammer update from March this year is totally surreal. That the hammer was clearly intentionally placed to be found.

I remember that! I made a post about it one time. I'll try to find it.

Fucking creepy man

Is there actual evidence of this? Can we listen to it? Because I don't trust it otherwise.

Must have been some weird reflection shit going on.

Not a mystery at all, and the reality doesn't bear thinking about. Stuff like that happens every few minutes every day, probably.
