Most replayable non-multiplayer games

I suppose it's not so much replayability as it is just a crap ton of content, but the disgaea series is the one i keep going back to again and again.

500 plus hours in disgaea 2 and I barely have reached the end game content let alone cleared it lol.

as for strictly replaying it, I think the binding of isaac takes the cake for that one... I have replayed it over 100 times.

Chrono Trigger, has a lot of replayable value, and it offers a news game +, I would also suggest Dragon's Dogma which also includes a new game plus.

Dark Souls. I'm on my fourth playthrough, but I still have new builds to try, still find new loot, and still get that sense of awe when I stop and look at the majesty of the world. I also still have room for improvement!

Bayonetta. Played it countless times and it still isn't old. Hard Mode mixes up the enemies in really novel ways, and there are mountains of unlockables. The gameplay is timeless.

If you're looking for games with short (<1 hour) playthroughs, definitely Binding of Isaac.

Don't Starve
Minecraft
Terraria
Starbound
Binding of Isaac
Skyrim
Fallout
Shatter
Sine Mora
Super House of the Dead Ninja
Super Meat Boy
Torchlight
Plants Vs Zombies
Peggle
Everyday Shooter
Dark Souls (if you play offline)
AudioSurf

all of which have hous and hours of content to played ALONE :D

Final Fantasy VIII is my most re-played game. Been through it 12+ times and currently doing the Steam release. The sheer amount of customization allows for a large variance in playstyles. Hell, you could use enc-none and hardly fight at all. Or you could just focus on cards. Or a high or low level challenge. The game can become really broken if you want but the sheer freedom available to you certainly makes up for it.

You also tend to catch bits of the story and lore you might have missed on your first replay from npcs. Like that easy to miss mean teacher who deducts your SeeD rank for using magic in the halls.

So much replayability in CKII, especially with the expansions they've added. Start as the ruler of pretty much any territory in Europe and go from there, then do it all over again as another ruler.

I never get tired of games like RE4, Dark Souls, Deus Ex, Mario 64/Galaxy 2. I also enjoy replaying Rune Factory games, but those are pretty niche.

And also games like Spelunky. Almost forgot about those.

Bayonetta.

Besides the fact that it's one of the best action games made, you have to replay the game if you want to get all of the weapons plus there's also a challenge mode and unlockable characters and costumes. It's very addicting if you're into the genre.

I'm looking for games that are super replayable, but aren't multiplayer. Something that you can keep coming back to over and over again without having to deal with other *gasp* people. Sort of like animal crossing, but with more... I dunno... gameplay? Explosions? Nah, there doesn't have to be explosions.

I know this game exists somewhere, but I haven't found it. Find it for me please, GAF.

Rune Factory?

Red Dead Redemption. The world is so alive you could spend an entire day doing nothing but hunting animals and selling their pelts. You could hunt bounties all day. Play poker, liar's dice, blackjack, horseshoes too. It is one game I've never been bored with. I have even Platinumed the base game (I don't have all of the DLC trophies).

If you're looking for something in the vein of Animal Crossing, something like Azure Dreams for PSX comes to mind.

It is pretty much town sim/dating/pokemon. I don't think you'll find anything closer (that features some level of excitement) to animal crossing barring Rune Factory.

Dragons Dogma has provided me many, many hours. Almost 400 to be more precise. So many different play styles, insane customizability and combat and fantastic boss battles that are never quite the same.

If there was a challenge mode where enemies where scaled around your current level and everything was randomly generated it would be GOAT easily (and this could have happened had Capcom given us a PC port :( )

Civilization for sure.. pumped so many hours into it. Yet hardly touched the multiplayer.

Sadly its just to much of a pain in the ass to get a group together to play it. Which is a shame cause Im sure it could be a lot of fun to play with real players.

The first Advance Wars game has kept me busy off and on for ten years.

I played the hell out of Drop7 when I had an iPod Touch, but it runs like shit on my Galaxy SIII. Worth a try if you have an iOS device.

I just bought my first one (4) a couple of weeks ago. I need to get on that, don't I?

I'm still waiting for the EU/AU release. :(

Back on topic though, I feel mod support can really boost replayability. The Elderscrolls games in particular. For the past 10 years or so I keep revisiting Morrowind every few years checking out new mods but still receiving that heavy dose of nostalgia. Its great.

Mount & Blade is another fantastic game with some mods to add extra flavour.
