Wow, unbelievable, when I read this thread's title, this is what the fist movie that came to my mind, I felt so stressed watching that movie, highly recommended.

Second-hand embarrassment is fucking awful, and I tend to feel it in crashing waves that make my heart feel like it's being crushed. I think the last movie I watched that triggered it was "Welcome to the Dollhouse" and lord... the lead character is just a mess.
Rear Window, during several scenes, but in particular the final showdown, is the first coming to mind

I showed Rear Window to my Korean high school class and they were absolutely freaking during the whole movie, and especially at the end.
I think that is a huge testament to the atmosphere Hitchcock created. These are the kinds of kids that exclusively watch Transformers movies, you know?
