got to play a race on my pops xbox and i must say, i think i'll be bitting once again. the framerate is quite solid with the only really noticable drops during replays, the handling seems fine tuned, and the details/presentation are greatly improved over last years.

I think it is because now it is hard to impress me, but I felt like the graphics had been dowgraded. I must be wrong though.

download the demo again. you could count the polygons on the rails.

This is a funny game. It isn't mean to be, but it is. 2 examples:

1. I was starting a race on Laguna Seca and I pushed start because I wanted to change controls. So I changed controls so I could push RT to accelerate and LT to brake. Well, the race started and I pushed RT. I accelerated, but I didn't move. He mapped as well the accelerate command as the front brake command on the same button. It's stupid!

2. I was driving online with some guys when I crashed into the wall. I "respawned" but the wrong way. A big red cross was dancing on my screen. This happened 20 times in a row. Very lame

It's quite a nice game, but the demo sucks ass.

On Laguna Seca whenever I come over the crest before the corkscrew, there's huge slowdown. Same thing coming around the final turn. Less slowdown at other parts, but it's still there. You're really having no problems?
