Motorstorm 3 announcement incoming

Super Motorstorm: Galaxy

Damn how could I miss that.

Motorstorm 2 was quite hard, but somehow my motivation kept up until the bitter end unlike the first one, which I didn't finish. Pacific Rift was brilliant, I'm in for more MS goodness.

I bet it also supports 3D as Motorstorm PR was shown in 3D a few months ago. If it doensn't affect the visual evolution in "non-3D" mode I'm fine with that though.

That's what I'm think too but not by Sony. PSLifestyle or leaker did on purpose hold the old trailer till E3 time. I mean the leaked video is only few weeks before and not the same as real trailer on the E3.

Well the video was posted to Youtube of all places, the easiest site for copyright holders to have their content removed from. It just seems weird that if Sony didn't have a hand in the leak they would allow the video to remain up (even a year later) and have it be the most viewed video the week it was posted. They could have easily taken it down. Think about it this way, the details of that video were posted here on GAF a year and a half prior and the mods deleted those posts (I believe at the request of Sony and not just voluntarily).

Plus it's weird that PSLifeStyle knew the game was going to be revealed at E3 as opposed to the other major trade shows later in the year.

This year's Sony E3 is going to stink. I just hope they have some sort of surprise, because all the games so far are 'Meh'..

All of them? Wow.

KZ3 is meh? LBP2 meh? MS3 meh? God, what kinds of games do you like since you obviously don't like shooters, platformers, or racing.

Some of you are a bunch of crybabies.

What difference does it make whether a game is announced at E3 or not?

As for Motorstorm - I hate it. Game is unbelievably difficult and the rubber band A.I. needs to die. Unless they make the game easier I won't be looking forward to the sequel.

Mostly because then some media sites would complain that all the stuff have already been announced before E3 and somehow they can't be as excited about the line-up had they been announced at E3.

Make it Waterstorm or I don't care.

I've seen a screenshot of the game already and it looks amazing.

The new setting looks like it going to be great fun.

Yeah cockteasing and pretending to be in the know is not a smart thing to do here.

How was it handled in the days when videogame magazines ruled the world, and internet was in its infancy?

Were the E3 issues full of surprise announcements, or did we already know most of the games from the issue(s) prior to that? I can't remember really, but I guess it was more of a surprise fest than nowadays.

Well if it is set in an apocalyptic environment it would open up the possibility of destructable tracks, similar to Split/Second only more natural.

Wasn't It Rumoured to be called Motorstorm: Urban Rush? I can't remember where i heard that...

A city-based Motorstorm would be a terrible idea. Completely kills what makes the franchise great.

Well it does not have to be city-based, it could simple be the current setting ravaged by human nature (tidal waves, earthquakes etc...)

really liked the first two games, but i hope they are ambitious with the setting here as a retread sequel would feel a little stale given just how much they offered with MS2.

My guess is they are saving room for:

-Move
-Agent details and first trailer
-The Last Gaurdian and how much better it looks than the last preview
-Some 360 exclusive franchise being released on the PS3 (Maybe Mass Effect 1,2)
-PSP2

For Sony right now, probably their biggest new release will be the PSP2. It's now or never with Nintendo and Apple taking away the portable market all to themselves. Sony don't want to miss this opportunity. It can be a huge revenue stream for them. Bigger than the casual motion controls market easily if they get it right.

So... M3 in apocalyptic Setting?

I love Motorstorm, but a part 3 just doesn't make sense. Use the R&D towards Jet Moto or an Artic Thunder spin off.

Too many sequels too recent games thus far from the SONY camp. Let's get some other intellectual properties cooking.

And how about a retail Wipeout :(

of course it is :lol

As for motorstorm 3, i don't give a shit.

Apparently you do, otherwise you wouldn't have clicked the thread... let alone post in it...

And what's all this nonsense about the conference being crap, last year everything was leaked and the conference was still great...

If you're gonna brag then say everything, otherwise just shut the fuck up...

Those genres are fine, but Killzone 2 and LBP weren't good games. Motorstorm 2 was fun but i'm not exactly clamoring for more.

I haven't played that much of the second one, but the first one wasn't that hard, I utterly suck at video games, and I managed to finish it all. I certainly wouldn't have finished it, had the PS3 had anything else to keep me busy though. It's cheap, but it's not hard.

Fucking hell, Sony's conference is going to be some barren wasteland.

Just because they won't show that many new stuff doesn't mean the conference will be empty. They will just be showing those stuff.

Apocalyptic emplacement?
Sounds good. But IMO, M3 needs more than a change of scenario to make a real impact. It's necessary to include some changes in the gameplay, I don't know what it could be: different types of races, traps... I don't know.

But seriously, we don't want another Motorstorm 2 with more tracks

I just want cockpits.

*braces for backlash*

I bought Artic Edge and Pacific Rift but have hardly played either. The first one I played every other day for like 6 months straight.

It was so much fun back when the PS3 "had no games" and the entire PS3 install base played Motorstorm and Reisitance every night. It was this awesome exclusive club. Motorstorm one night, Resistance the next and durring the day was hardcore Gripshift time:lol

2 was awesome! 3 will be apocalyptic! D:
Glorious. I was over the moon on MotorStorm 1 but Pacific Rift didn't do a whole lot for me. This gets me excited, though

Sidenote: Anxiously awaiting the M|OT|orStorm 3

I think most people agree with you so you shouldn't expect backlash. But you also probably shouldn't expect cockpits unless Evolution has changed their tune.

I played the demo for Motorstorm 2 recently

(i have a PS3 for less than a week, so..)

I cant see the game as something THAT great, something that deserves another sequel.

When it comes to demos, the spltSecond one makes a better job in telling that the game is really worth buying,

I heard their tune... they're off key. Hopefully the recent industry trend will put some pressure on them. It's not as if they have to model 500+ cars like some games.

It is what it is though.
