Motorstorm: Arctic Edge first trailer & screens

Ah dangit, I was hoping this was DLC. Might've made me buy Pacific Rift.
Hah, nice spin on the original trailer at the end there.

I wish you never said that. Now I want arctic tracks as DLC.

Come on guys, this isn't that impressive, just imagine this thing at 30fps and tons of aliasing and it's totally doable on PSP. That shit is impressive, I believe this will use an advanced Wipeout Pulse engine, don't forget what Ready at Dawn made on PSP with God of War...

Now it has to have the WipeoutHD treatment. You started it. Bring this to PSN!

If the UMD comes with a USB dongle containing a new CPU, then yeah, it's totally doable.

The particle effects are insane.

So I wonder where the next Motorstorm game will be set: They've done the desert (Motorstorm 1) they've done a tropical island (Motorstorm 2) and their currently doing Snow (this game) so where else is theier to go. Motorstorm: Mars?

I'd much rather Arctic Edge be a PS3 title and the PSP game be a mix/off shoot of the first two games, or atleast some of the tracks be brought out as DLC for PR. Oh well, good for PSP owners.

They take the PS3 Motorstorm series to the water.

.

You know what that sounds like a good idea, and it's probobly something Sony would've done circa 2005, 2006, but it seems like right now their trying to save a sinking ship by pumping as much original content as they can onto the system.

Yessssssss. This is the best news ever. I know it was a rumor before, but having solid info now makes this awesome.

One of my friends already told me that he's not going to sell his PSP now because of Motorstorm coming to the system.

This is the best move I think Sony's made in a while. The article says it's coming to both PS2 & PSP. They should start doing this with a lot more PSP games.

Arctic Edge, which is actually in development for both the PSP and the PlayStation 2, takes the intense racing action of the two PlayStation 3 titles to snowy Alaska.

I wish SE did this for their psp games.

I'll probably get the ps2 version if it seems good. Should have been a ps3 game though.

Put the PS2 version on the PlayStation® Network and everyone gets to enjoy :)

I'd be surprised if KH:BBS doesn't see a PS2 release, there is really no reason not too. FFAgitoXIII and Crisis Core wouldn't really work on PSP, one's online coop based, and CC is really designed for short bursts.

No idea about The 3rd Birthday yet.

Everyone with a BC PS3 you mean.

I wouldn't want it to be like Wave Race. Just take Motorstorm's gameplay and convert it to water based vehicles with lots of speed, huge crashes, and great wave/water physics. I think it'd be a nice change for the series. Taking it to another land based area might be a little stale after three games in such a short period of time.

Seriously i'd probably buy the PS2 version. You know, when you give me the choice.

.

You'll miss online multiplayer and surely be limited to 2 player splitscreen (see Wipeout Pure on PS2 for example...) then.

Well this is some real bullshit practices me think.

Sure wouldn't mind. Multiplayer really isn't my attraction there.

Is this Sony's first PS2 game since God of War II? I mgiht be forgetting a Pursuit force port or some Buzz/Singstar games, but it's been a while.

Well, they announced Daxter a while ago but I don't know what happen to that one.

Looks like Pursuit Force 2 PS2 never got released either, weird.

I like this series but why must each game be centered around a specific theme? I want a mix of snow, jungle, desert and whatever else there is.....

They've been doing that for a while now, remember? It pretty much ruined the PSP.

That's a valid point, but I disagree. I think the lack of direction for it has been it's biggest downfall. I don't want to derail the thread and turn this into a PSP bash fest though. For PSP owners that want it, that's great but I'm happy that more people will have the opportunity to play it.

While the game is great looking. I kind of suspect it'll be burried beneath the avalanche of PSP titles out around its time. It does come out around the time of GT Mobile, right? Don't know if the PSP will be able to sucessfully handle two (very different) racing games.

(I know this post is pretty old GAF, please don't rage) Wahh? When did that happen? Are you sure you're not confusing Daxter with Secret Agent Clank, Syphon Filter, WipEout, or something? I remember Ready At Dawn saying something akin to "We build our games for a specific platform, and only that platform in mind, we'd rather not see our games ported".

Been playing the hell out of the game. So damn awesome and extremely impressive. From the second you play it, it feels like MotorStorm.

10 vehicles on screen at once, all sorts of weather and lighting effects, great textures, a good amount of interactivity, smooth framerate, etc. As a MotorStorm veteran it's a little more forgiving than MS and MS:PR, but for a portable game, it works. I knew BigBig wouldn't disappoint.

wow, it seems the devs did a really good job at cramming the the motorstorm experience into the psp. this and other psp games coming out soon may just make me purchase a psp (bought the fat when it came out but sold it after not really using it)

Sept. 29, download Oct. 1

I will use PSN by the way.

[edit] I have heard there will be split-screen multiplayer mode, but how?
