where were you people when Playstation Underground was happening...its the same sh!t if not alittle cheaper..... I will say the good thing about Playstation Underground was the Japanese demos...and early looks.... *thinks back to first playing the first Dynasty Warriors"

besides...isn't this an independent magazine company outside Sony who runs Qore....

Holy shit.

Seriously.

And on that note about demos never being released a month or more early...

Release Date: August 19, 2008

.....

The demo was released on Xbox Live on July 14, 2008 as part of the Microsoft "Bringing it Home" E3 Marketplace content.

Blue Dragon was also released more than a month past its demo as well iirc and I'm sure there are others out there.

Not that you misspelled, but rather the way that one sentence was worded. It's confusing and I don't think that's what you meant to say. :P
Not really, it's exactly what I wanted to say. If Qore didn't exist then you wouldn't be getting the Motorstorm demo now. People working for Qore are pulling the strings to make it happen. Do people really think they'd delay the demo for a month just so Qore could get the exclusivity? Even the third parties? And what about Europe that doesn't have Qore?... No way...

No one said never...

Yes, there is no difference and it most certainly does amount to the studio withholding the trailer so they can show it to a priviledged few at comic-con. A legitimate, digital copy of the trailer could be on the net at the same time they're showing the trailer to a comic-con audience. This is such a bizarre attempt to deny that anything is being held back - it doesn't matter what their motive is, they are still engaging in an act of withholding content from a wider audience until whatever arbitrary conditions they've set for that content are met.
but your entire point here is based on when YOU determine it is "supposed to be released" vs. when the publisher feels it's supposed to be released, and based on this is entirely wrong. Marketing isn't "get it out as soon as it's done". It's about timing information releases, coinciding events, setting dates, etc. Unless you are the marketer of said item, saying "they should have released it earlier but held it back" is absolutely baseless and without merit.

"Well guys, we had the demo and TV blitz scheduled for the 7th of October, but kaching feels we should just release everything as soon as it's done. What do you think?"

All of this is marketing first and foremost, and getting the demo into your hands is much less important than coinciding any such release with a grander marketing strategy.

To sum up, the demo is set to be released when THEY deem it, not when you or anyone else in here deems it's ready. And the one or two instances of a demo being release a month (or more) early are fine. I didn't say it never happens. I said it rarely happens. Nevertheless, as of now there is no evidence to point that they are artificially delaying demo releases beyond THEIR marketing targets. Just conspiracies.

Yes, but the logic present in this thread, at least how I'm seeing it, (from the supporters) it's that its unwise marketing move to put your demo out that early so this MS2 demo is genuinely a bonus for Qore users and not an incentive to get more subscribers where there should have been a free demo in the first place.

So this is the monthly bitch about Qore thread?

What exactly is the point of posts like this? Because people have complained about what they have viewed as an unfair practice in the past, they should no longer voice an opinion on it? We've all had our say about storage issues on the Wii, the price of XBL, and now this, so we just shut up and let things go their way?

Bottom line is, I never bought one of these and most likely never will, and I don't feel like im being screwed or missing out on anything. I assumed the MS2 demo would be released a week-ish before release, when I heard about it coming out early on Qore, nothing changed for me.

Metalmurphy said:
Wouldn't that mean they'd have to delay PSN releases for a week then? That would be the only way they were changing things.
PSN demo releases aren't necessarily in lockstep with XBL demo releases, and sometime PSN doesn't get a demo for a game that XBL does. And vice versa on both counts. So I'm not really sure what you think that proves about what pubs "have to" do here. It's arbitrary - they can do whatever they want and right now they're increasingly starting to dabble with paid "early" access to demos with MS's and Sony's blessing.

Yes, that's exactly it.

I thought this was supposed to be the dedicated thread for the Motorstorm 2 demo. Instead, it is another arguement about the value of Qore. At this point, a new thread will have to be made so people won't have to wade through pages of arguing and bitiching to read impressions. I think if people want to complain about Qore, they should use the PSN thread, not a dedicated game demo thread.

I think the fact that demo is being attached to Qore is the main reason this bitching exists. It's not that people feel the need to argue in every related thread; it's that the topic of this thread is specifically the reason they feel the need to argue this time.

Kinda what it is like with all the Wii threads. Sigh. Nothing new, happens in every thread...there will always be bitchers.

I don't understand people's problems. Just treat the Demo as an advertisement for Qore. I know I'm trying it out this Thursday for the first time.

Don't forget us dirty Europeans being denied access to content our American brethren are going to be enjoying for weeks.

I don't understand the bitching regarding Qore...
If you want to play the demo ASAP pay for Qore or wait and it will be free.
It's the same concept as preorder demos or betas; you do some type of commitment you get the demo first.

Honestly I'm not sold on this title so I will wait for the free demo.
I highly doubt we will ever see a situation where a demo would be a complete Qore exclusive and never released free of charge. This is just a situation where some people want to bitch for the sake of complaining period...

The Motorstorm demo being a part of Qore 4 was already discussed in the Qore preview thread just over a week ago. I see no reason why this thread is being used for the same purpose.

My bad; I wasn't aware of this. I guess all the chatter really should be confined to that topic then.

No. No no no no no. I'm just disputing this notion that they aren't holding anything back. My point is they can but they choose not to. You say that doesn't mean they're holding anything back and all I've said is, in polite terms, WTF?

Sure, but it wasn't the anti-Qore contingent that got it going in the early stages of this thread...

If XBL works in a way that limits you getting demos early then don't whine about Qore. Live happy with all that is there in each platform and don't bicker over petty things. Do you see me whining because XBL charges you for themes while you can create your own on PS3? Geez folks come on!

Because Qore is one big ad. You are paying for an ad.

As you are paying for the Games Convention or TGS, except there may be some loot to get ;). Seriously it's just a service and what difference does it make when that ONE demo is coming later? Maybe they should bring a special edition of Qore where you can play "all" things from those events.

Anyway I'm not going to buy it since I'll be saving the money for DLC like Warhawk expansion or other things and the time when I'll be playing that ONE demo doesn't matter as with the Naruto one. It'd be a huge difference if it were a full game, but since it's not... no hard feelings at all.
