guggnichso said:As much as I love racers, how can anyone in their right minds say that the Motorstorm 2 demo looks great?
It looks like friggin' Excite Truck in HD, and Excite Truck had at least some colors in it.
In THIS game, even the trees are shades of friggin' gray-green-brown.
There's no reflections on the cars, the textures are as low res as you can get on the PS3, there's nearly no effects there at all, it's grey, grey, grey, low res and ugly.
And NO, this is NOT trolling. Pure looks way better.
Gameplay is great though. Love the bike.

Flatout UC, really? :lol Have you actually played it or just looked at the bullshots?guggnichso said:Tell me one thing in this game that looks on par with Pure or hell, Flatout UC. One thing.

Which one? Flatout UC demo? No, I actually have the game (PC version), and the ONLY thing it has over Motorstorm 2 (right now, it's 80% complete after all) is the textures.guggnichso said:Yes, Flatout UC. And yes, it looks better than the low res grey in grey mess that the motorstorm 2 demo is. Did YOU actually play that demo?

And that's not the only thing you were wrong about btw...
It has reflections, it's not just the "sun", it's not real reflections sure, it's just the skybox with some mountains and shit, but it still has them...
"Excite Truck in HD" ? :lol
"Trees are brown and green"? OMFG That's so wrong!!1!! :lol
No effects? :lol So the dust, the blur, the small packs of fog, etc I saw must have been on my version only...
"grey grey grey"? :lol
"ugly"? :lol
Yeah, you couldn't be more wrong sorry, and yes you are trolling.
Get out. I understand some points but trolling is trolling.guggnichso said:This is hilarious. so you see reflections, colors and "small packs of fog" in this game? Nice one. I'm outta here, because, sorry, I tend to only see things in games that are really there.
Lucky me, there's games out there where the developers actually worked at making them look goodI'll rather stick with their games.

jett said:MS2 really doesn't look all that great until it's in motion, then OMFG.
It has it's strengths and weaknesses. And yes, it looks much better in motion. You should know that by now.jett said:MS2 really doesn't look all that great.
True, the first time I played MS I was more blown away. But the main thing is this is still fun to play and the features will be there this time around.Surfheart said:Gameplay is awesome but I was a little let down by the visuals as well. Might have been the time of day, but the track just seemed a little bland looking with some relatively low poly mountains and blurry textures.
It just didn't seem to pop like the first game.. seemed washed out looking somehow.
Why the "?". It is a demo, and seing as how MS1 improved over the last few months there's no doubt MS2 will too.Danielsan said:I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the game (demo?) looks like ass. Motorstorm 1 >>> Motorstorm 2.

Hence the "(demo?)". I don't know if the final build will look like this but if it does, eh do not want. I can't even begin to fathom why they figured putting this demo out was a good idea. Especially if the graphics are not representative of the final product.Loudninja said:Yep ,comparing a complete game to a demo.

You've figured it out. GAF complains for the sake of doing it. It's in the genes.SaitoH said:It's amusing how much this thread reminds me of the old motorstorm 1 demo thread, including the camera shots of bad textures.
This game has a lot better lighting and motion blur than Pure, and also much more impressive use of physics, causing the general havoc that can happen around you. This all amounts to a game looking a lot more photorealistic (or good CG-like) than Pure ever gets. Pure looks pretty great, but it also at all times looks like a typical game.guggnichso said:Tell me one thing in this game that looks on par with Pure or hell, Flatout UC. One thing.

I'll try to grab a couple that show the reflections but it'll be hard.

dark10x said:I also feel that the emergent chaos that was so prevalent in the original wasn't on the same level here. The way vehicles clashed in the first game and parts were flying everywhere as you dodged through them was incredibly satisfying and, while I'm sure that's still in this game, the demo tracks just couldn't pull off those same situations.
They are there with the external camera as wellguggnichso said:I stand pwnd and corrected.
In my defense I have to say, that you don't really see thouse clouds when you use the external camera.
You can see that here as I drive up to that part of the track: http://motor.ak-41.de (may take another ten to twenty minutes until it's reachable). Use http://ak-41.de/motor/ till then.
I simply did not see that. After seeing your pictures, I used internal camera, and yes, you are right, there's a lot more to see that way.
Again, I stand corrected and must apologize.
