MTV2 'Gears of War' Special

Just a reminder that the MTV2 ‘Gears of War’ special will premiere tomorrow night. Of course, in typical MTV style they’ll run it again (and again) over the next few week…so there is no excuse for missing it!

Here are some details from the media alert:

Gears of War: The Race to E3 chronicles the personal sacrifices and sleepless nights by the team at Epic Games as they create of a blockbuster videogame for the Xbox 360. Set to premiere on Friday, May 19 at 10 PM Eastern/Pacific on MTV2, Gears of War: The Race to E3 counts down the days leading up to E3 2006.

The lead up to it is currently on Marketplace. This is the full special.
 
Nice advertising coup. This should cause preorders to go thru the roof, if they already haven't
 
I can't download the "road to E3" video of Gears of War from the Marketplace for some reason. It goes to around 18%, disconnects, I restart and it jumps to 55% and then it gives me an error afterwards. It's really odd, and I imagine it's a bug with the marketplace download mechanism (because even if you delete the file off the hard disk, it still shows marked up as downloaded in the marketplace.) I've tried countless times to delete the temporary file and restart, but the very same thing keeps happening.

This only occurs with this specific video. All the other marketplace content downloads fine.

Anyone else with this issue?
 
Liveplanet doesn't mess around. They followed us around for 6 weeks straight and caught a LOT of good stuff...and a lot of conflict. It's going to be good.

Besides, I used a lot of hair goo for this.
 
I am totally looking forward to this special. One problem, though. Relatively minor.

I don't have MTV2.

Oh well... when life gives you lemons, find a messageboard and complain.
 
I got no access to this either so I hope someone puts this up on the net too - I need every bit of Gears media I can get!

Cool, thanks. Hopefully it will be online soon after it airs--should be quite interesting to see some of the other members of Delta Company (Anya, Dom and Jack), level walkthroughs, vehicles, etc. (according to CliffyB from IGN interview).
 
I would love for this to be a download on Marketplace. I enjoyed the lil teaser they put up last week.
 
Yes this needs to be on marketplace. I live in Canada and I don't get MTV up here dammit. Most of the time it works out cuz MTV is ass.
 
how long is this? my tivo says mtv special for 1 hour at every hour for the entire night...no descriptions.

That's funny - the first thing I noticed when I watched the first clip was your hair. :lol

I do hope the full show hits Marketplace, though if they do it in HD it will be HUGE.

The game deserves to have a lot of money backing it up. Oh wait. We are talking about MS.

Hopefully they'll spare us the crappy band intro/outro to the special, and the 'impressions' by a bunch of idiotic gamers off the street.
 
Can't believe those reps at MS wanted the chainsaw gone. They really don't know shit about what the gamers want do they? It pretty much sold a lot of people on the game.
