I'm curious to see what the multiplayer split here looks like with regards to PvP and PvE style multiplayer. Which type are you more interested in/do you play more?

10-BEST-ONLINE-MULTIPLAYER-GAMES-FOR-PC-2019.jpg

Rocket League & Hearthstone are my main games right now

I dab into tight and focused single-player games, which is a rarity since we're in this open-world fad

Only multiplayer I care about nowadays is the one you can play on the couch with your frens beside you.

For me, online games have gone too far with the season passes and unlockables and level ups and shit. I just want to play the game, not having to spend extra time worrying about not missing on stuff or things like that.

Some years ago I enjoyed some online PvP stuff like Team Fortress 2 or RTCW Enemy Territory, and some PvE too like Left 4 Dead 2. Nowadays I still do some L4D but only in Lan parties, and the same goes for multiplayer on consoles.

Dead By Daylight is the only multiplayer game I play right now if my friends are online and that is 100% PvP. I used to play a lot of World of Warcraft back in the day and I played exclusively PvE.

I love pvp centric games like call of duty, but haven't bought a cod game since MW19, and game pass doesn't have that many pvp games.

I sometimes play cod 4 modern warfare online, but I play mostly wow ascension and I prefer pve in mmos because of balance issues.

So. I enjoy pvp but there's no good ones out there anymore.

I used to love free for all Doom and Quake matches. So not going to say MP sucks. I'm just a single player gamer now. No option for that in the poll unfortunately.

depends on the game but generally if i can play alone or as a small team ill do that but i dont mind pvp of course

Depends on the game, but I'd say I prefer PvP more. My most played game of all time is Rainbow Six Siege, followed by several Battlefield titles. After that in terms of multiplayer is probably Monster Hunter World.

Rare that I play multiplayer nowadays. I'd love to get hooked on a new one though.

Past ones that got a large chunk of my time:
Rocket league
CoD MW2019
Gears 4 & 5 (mostly horde, but a bunch of modes)
Splatoon

PvE is preferred to me but I like FFA and small team match types as well. Still I'm mostly single player unless one really catches my attention. I'll give BF2042 a shot when it hits EA Play/GPU.

I barely play multiplayer games, even after getting a decent connection in recent years.
The only one I play is Team Fortress 2, but sometimes I hook up on Left 4 Dead 2, Smash 4 and in an extremely rare circumstance even on Brawlhalla.

Not much of a multiplayer, at least anymore. Used to play a lot of Splatoon. The first one was great, really good, despite connection problems. Then came Splatoon 2 which was at first really bad and unbalanced, they kept patching it and it turned really, really good until they kept patching it and making more and more weapons easier to use and I lost my interest. Whoops. Splatoon rant.

But as far as I'm aware, this same phenomenon is a problem in multiplayer games in general - in addition there being a lot of highly competitive assholes who ruin the fun for others.

The only multiplayer I play nowadays is with my friend and with my family with two playstations and xbx and cloud gaming.

I play a lot online, mainly with friends. Every Thursday is our 'game night'. There's 7 of us at the moment. It's really down to how many turn up on the night. For example last week only 4 turned up and so we played Sea of Thieves, (probably one of the greatest online games ever created).

We all have Gamepass PC so a lot of what we choose comes from there but also any Steam game we share.

We will try anything Gamepass has to offer and try anything on Steam if the price is right. There are a few games we play all the time. Its a really mix. PvP and PvE

Here's a list of some games we've tried and played;

Sea of Thieves
Halo Infinite (team death match)
Halo MCC (death match & coop)
Wreckfest
Flight Sim
Pummel Party
Dying Light
PUBG
Counter Strike
Grounded
Overcooked
Humans Fall Flat
TNMT
Back 4 Blood
Doom
Company of Heroes
FIFA
Borderlands 2
Portal 2
Fall Guys
Virtual Pool 4
Forza 7
Forza Horizon 4
Forza Horizon 5
Golf With Your Friends
No Man's Sky
Gang Beasts
Among Us
Duck Game
GTA V
Grounded
Left 4 Dead 2
Mud Runner
World War Z
Tetris Connected

PVE, in games that have PvP where its an arena I never join the arena, in games where its open world PvP I let them go PK/red, or level/grind in areas they are to lazy to go to (too far from cities/teleport points).

Whenever I play pvp, it's normally COD or Halo 2/3. I like to comp stomp on RTS, I like the idea of playing other people in them, but at the same time I tend to use RTS to relax and listen to a podcast. Back in the GameSpy days I used to play AOE2 and StarCraft custom maps and rules.

PvP until monster hunter comes out

or a few great exceptions like sniper elite 5 gets added to gamepass

I play everything. I love both PvE and PvP. Some of my most favorites games that I never get bored of - Sea of Thieves, World of Warcraft, Warframe, Fortnite, Halo Infinite, CoD Black Ops Cold War.

Can't wait for Diablo 4, next WoW expac and hopefully some good unannounced multiplayer goodness.

Back in the old days it was World of Warcraft, CoD MW, CoD 2, UT2004, Counter Strike Source, Gears of War Series, Diablo 3.
