Multiplayer games for PC with controller support?

So. I have decided to go comfy couch without access to wireless mouse or keyboard.
Just an internet connection and a wireless 360 controller.

Wich are the best multiplayer PC games with controller support?
Are there any good multiplayer RPG's with controller support for PC?

Titanfall is one if your into FPS.

I actually prefer to use a 360 controller hooked up exclusively instead of mouse and keyboard.
It has aim assist so you can remain competitive. I'm usually in the top when I play.

Battlefield 3 & 4 have really decent controller support as well, especially in the vehicles and flying is a lot easier with it too! And for RPGs, I've been really enjoying Dragon Age: Inquisition with a controller on my TV.

Edit: Its an Action RPG but Lord of the Rings: War in the North was a lot of fun with friends using a controller.

Switching to a pad for vehicles is the only way to play the game. You just need to practice dropping it quickly and grabbing your mouse to shoot folk when you get out.

Much great advice! I want to know more of your controller based multiplayer experiences on PC.
I went for Gauntlet the other day. Haven't been able to install it yet though...

Generally, you'll get schooled by mouse and keyboard players if you are using a controller, unless you're a real pro. That alone might deter you. If it doesn't, pretty much all the big multiplayer shooters are controller compatible - Titanfall, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Borderlands, Far Cry 4.

You might be better off playing a game like Mercenary Kings or Broforce.

If the mouse and keyboard players scare you, go with something a little more casual. Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare is a great choice and works beautifully with a controller.

For multiplayer RPGs, I assume you mean MMOs? If so, Final Fantasy XIV is controller compatible.

For action RPGs, you have Dark Souls II or Sacred 3. Of course, there are tons of single-player RPGs with controller support you could play, but multiplayer narrows that down a bit.

Marvel Heroes with a Pinnacle or Xpadder profile can be played with a controller relatively easily.

I've been playing SpeedRunners over the past few days and it's a blast. It has controller support but is still fairly betaish. That doesn't take away from the core game, however. It's a mix of racing, platforming, and Smash Bros. In the beginning it's all laughs while people stumble around the debris on field trying to get a grip on the mechanics. Once you do, it's an intense competition to shave off precious time to outrun the enemy and knock him offscreen. Highly recommended at $5.

If you're looking for local competitive multiplayer, I've gotten alot of mileage out of Towerfall: Ascension, Speedrunners, Samurai Gunn, Gang Beasts, Screencheat, Spelunky, Lethal League, Nidhogg. All have full controller support, highly recommended.

So great to consult all of you. Thanks as always.
After much brain work back and forth, I have bought myself a GTX 980 and all in for comfy pc gaming in 2015 so all advice are welcome.

Battlefield is also very tempting. I have not played BF since the second installment, so I have no idea how it plays out with a controller. If someone knows more about this, please enlighten me. :)

Dragon Age Inquisition just came out the end of November, and the multiplayer is totally addictive and fun. I play on PC, and use an Xbox controller. It's 4 player co-op

BF3 on PC has what i would call partial controller support, you can control your player on foot just fine (its all setup as per Xbox 360/One controls) and everything is mapped perfectly for vehicles etc - however a lot of the menus/customisation sections aren't mapped to the controller and as such you need to switch to a mouse/KB to select them which in the heat of battle is rather annoying. BF4 on PC has full controller support, you can use it for everything including the menu's and customisation sections, its pretty much setup as per the Xbox 360/One version - as such for comfy couch Battlefield, BF4 is the better one to get (i comfy couch MP).

Unfortunately on both you still need your M/KB to select your servers etc, once in game with BF4 everything is accessible via the pad, but on BF3 you do have to switch to M/KB to do certain things which is annoying (if you want to adjust options, change your load out etc).

Find a program called tocaedit or x360ce, same program different names. It can let you map and tweak your 360 pad pretty well.

Just like TheCowboy said.

gonna add in that there is no aim assist. So you are at a disadvantage right off the bat.

Will surely look into Final Fantasy XIV. Is it considered good?

Great for a Final Fantasy fan, the fan service is handled wonderfully and in a manner that goes beyond just slathering itself in nostalgia. It's the first entry in ages to actually feel like a Final Fantasy game. It has a lot of good casual and fluff content, it's worth it for a month or so of good play, not too hard to find a decent free company (guild) and there's a lot of decent, social people.

Core gameplay, itemization, class design, battle content design, etc are pretty lousy, though. This is a tourist game through and through, if you enjoy the classical entries and can approach it from a very casual viewpoint, that's the kind of person I recommend it to.

Since this is a controller topic, let me add that this is about as good as a traditional MMO will probably ever play on a controller. The game design pays for facilitating it in several ways and while it is still not as good as mouse and keyboard it is perfectly viable and that's a lot more than the other half-assed attempts in the genre like in Tera or the rigged up attempts for GW2.

Moving on, I assume the Don't Starve co-op release supports controllers but I believe it's still early access... also if Sega ever localizes PSO2 that was a lot of fun and worked ideally on pads I'd imagine (only way I tried it)
