I downloaded their entire discography after seeing them in the most played list of so many gaffers in the Itunes thread I started. I only like one song, Map of the Problematique, out of 87.....every other song sounds like it was made in GarageBand on a Mac, really amateurish, and the lead singer's singing style gets annoying very very quickly.

It's almost hard to believe that Map of the Problematique is from the same band, why couldn't the other songs be so good? I'm sorry Gaf, I tried to like 'em, I really really did :-(
 
So wait - you're admitting you stole their entire catalogue of music, and bitching you didn't like it?

You could have just said you didn't like the music, without admitting you're a dick. :\

You know, the word "downloading" doesn't necessarily mean he pirated there discography.

They're sound like a high school New Order/Depeche Mode tribute band with a really bad lead singer :-(
 
I love how GAF pretends they don't download music :lol

And I don't like Muse either. Can't stand the lead singers vocal style. It could be good for pop otherwise.

Not worth the hassle with the fucking crazy RIAA floating around out there, and the bands I like need my fucking money to survive. :\
 
Cajole has the best taste out of all you people, alongside Bud of course, and he told me they rocked. I downloaded (yes, I said I DOWNLOADED IT FOR FREE) OoS and it's good. There's a mixture of great songs and average songs

Absolution is more of the same but worse, with fewer good songs. It sounds very poppy and manufactured to me. But there are some amazing songs on there. My problem with Muse is that most of their songs sound the same. Their singer does the exact same fucking thing on every track, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't
 
I took a music recommendation from GAF once and regretted it ever since. (Franz Ferdinand.)

Completely stumbled across Muse on my own and love 'em. Go figure.

I quite like Muse, but i agree with you on all of this.
 
You wrecked your credibility when you tried to apply objective criticism - "sounds like Garage Band" etc. What you did was prove that you are a Madonna fan and you smell of piss and cabbage.
 
i like muse alright. they're good for high power easy listening. yeah, sounds like an oxymoron, but the tone is so light and peaceful, even the high-tension music is good for relaxing to on a long day.

Both bands are going for completely different things in their music. Why the fuck would you compare Muse with FOB other than for trolling purposes?

I'll say this though, in the last few Muse albums I've found myself really enjoying a much higher percentage of their songs than with Fall Out Boy's albums.

The weird thing is, that I didn't get Muse when I first heard them at all: a friend let me listen to them one day and the experience left me confused for days. Sometime later, Plug In Baby came onto Kerrang one day (back in the good days perhaps) and I was completely hooked.

Give it time, boy. You will turn and become one of us. >:(

Hey, just because something isn't a game doesn't mean we can't make cross genre comparisons. Just compare the average review scores for their records, winner is the better band.
Gaming forum would be pretty lame if we can't compare SMG to CoD 4
 
I don't understand.

Map of the Problematique isn't that much different from the rest. How can that be awesome and the rest suck?
