With Club Nintendo coming to an end, I thought perhaps I should fill out my 3DS collection with some must-have titles that I missed out on (and also get their Club Nintendo Coins)
*I'm looking for retail titles (let's not talk about eShop exclusives

Pokemon Art Academy
SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked
Shinobi

any suggestions on what else I should be looking at?

Rhythm Thief if you can find it.
Harvest Moon: A New Beginning.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is good too.
SSFIV 3D is also a good one.
Ghost Recon is good.
I also enjoyed Doctor Laurtec, though it's not a must-have imo.

Now that you can play other region games if you have an old 3ds, there are some interesting games as Taiko no Tatsujin, Inazuma Eleven Go games, Sega 3D games in one cartridge...Edit: forgot to add Ex troopers

Looks like you're missing

I don't see Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward on that list. Consider picking it up, it's amazeballs. You should play the prior game (999) first though.

I have that on the Vita so I'm good on that.
bought the DS 999 game too!

thanks for the suggestions guys - keep them coming.

hopefully I can still find new copies for a decent price.

I think the port of Street Fighter 4 was really well done. I'm not sure if that would count as a "must have" but it's from a genre that doesn't get much attention on the 3DS.

Add another vote for Style Savvy!

It's funny because I totally play it like that one guy in the Iwata Asks does. AKA how do I force my customers into buying things over their budget. Or create horrible looking outfits in the name of selling off my surplus stock.

Another vote for Pilotwings. Also, skip Pokémon Mystery Dungeon (the 3DS game isn't that great), but Art Academy is pretty fun and cheap too.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy which is basically just portable Ace Combat 2.

You can skip the newly released enhanced version since all it does is add amibo and c stick support

man. trying to find reasonably priced copies of some of these games you guys mentioned is difficult

One of the reasons I have so few 3DS games compared to my other handhelds :(

3rding Pilotwings Resort.

From what I heard, Ridge Racer 3D is a pretty good launch arcade racer. Been on the lookout for a cheap copy for a while.

Another janky yet fun rec would be Crash City Mayhem, a quirky Japanese mission-based driving game.

Haven't played my copy of Heroes of Ruin yet but it looks to be a fun hack n slash.

thanks for the recommendations!

I just ordered
Mario Tennis Open
Professor Layton - Miracle's Mask
Pilotwings Resort

- hope I don't regret... lol

the prices aren't fantastic :/

I really hope the two from Amazon Warehouse Deal have unused Club Nintendo codes (it says Like New)

Soul Hackers, top-tier SMT. Fantastic dub too, they were very thorough. Damn near everyone is voiced, even mfin'
Sid Davis
the optional boss.

Oh, you have it. All's well then!

Since no one has said it yet, get Shinobi. Seriously. Unless you get easily discouraged with challenging (sadly sometimes cheap) games you shouldn't miss it.
Did Bit. Trip Complete have a north american release? If so you should consider it as well.

Bit. Trip SAGA is the same right? I got the eShop release or is there a difference?

US$15 on Amazon for Shinobi... hmmm

I was under the impression that the Wii and 3ds versions had the same name but I was wrong, the one you have is the one I meant to reccomend.

I'd say it's worth 15/20$, it's a great game imo.

I just noticed that you're also missing Rhythm Thief, that should also be on your list.

ah I didn't release that Bit Trip SAGA was also a retail release... thought it was an eShop exclusive or something...

(I'm strangely OCD about getting retail release physical and eShop only for eShop exclusives)

edit: cant find Rhythm Thief anywhere

Yeah, there's a physical release. I have a couple more games than you but I'd hardly call them 'must haves', I still enjoy them for what they are though plus some of them were really cheap.

A great actioney/metroidvania'ish game, it's not the best version of Cave Story but it's the only retail version there is.
